Not only that but it was also mentioned in the field manual during alpha under the category: oxygen. It said that you can either die of lack of oxygen underwater, in sealed rooms and from chemical weapons :) This was probably the "old" ArmA 3 designplan which I hope they'll resume to some extent after release. Maybe with an expansion pack which features chemical rounds for artillery, prototype coilgun tanks and of course all the NBC equipment. I thought this was the whole idea behind moving into the near future :)

Or how about a new behaviour type for the waypoints, instead of combat or aware you choose CQB which will give the AI a complete new behaviour pattern where they refrain from going prone and actually use buildings when ordered a defend waypoint.

And giving us those biochemical weapons including hazard suits and coilgun tanks

Found it (the chapel hidden in the rocks)! :D http://cloud-3.steampowered.com/ugc/630790094549289798/527C31A29E50D9C570F02B963B4DFFF47579BF75/

Nope, tomorrow's update will only bring Altis and no other content but RiE hinted that we might get some more release content later on as we move closer to launch.
-
Can't wait for Altis to arrive. I hope it can keep me occupied until Rome 2 releases :D
-
I suspect DnA :p

The field manual once mentioned chemical weapons under "oxygen". Don't know if the reference is still there but I guess this was part of the "old" vision of ArmA III

Am I the only one liking the orange color?
-
Same with the CSAT. They got their "flag" also patched to their uniforms
-
not some tanks... only 2 Tanks (one for NATO and CSAT) and 3 additional APCs

No Osprey in the final game but the PDW SMG will be. You can have a look here to see what'll be in the game at release: http://www.arma3.com/launch-countdown

elaboration about how to improve effects
ScratcH334 replied to NordKindchen's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Yeah, he's using blastcore in this video. He says so in the video description. -
You can use the laser designator on the Greyhawk to shoot wherever you want. You just have to lase the target for a couple of seconds until there's a red square, which usually indicates an enemy target, at the lased position, then the "pilot" shoots it's missiles at the laser designated position. But as I said, it can take a while until he does and I have to agree with you that the gunner should ultimately decide when to launch the missile.
-
It is! Instead of the GPS(?) you got the UAV terminal item. You can drop and pick it up Laser paint the target until the UAV automatically shoots one of its missiles. It may take a couple of seconds until it fires.
-
You sure? Because when you let a stomper join a squad (via waypoint) you get 2 new members, driver and gunner. And I just told him to move to a position without the UAV terminal :D Btw, their names are Leahy and Evans :D #Edit: On further notice, they don't confirm any orders but their AI seems to be so advanced that they follow your voice commands :)
-
Less realistic? Oh, I see what you did there...
-
I've killed myself with a Greyhawk, controlling it's turret and laser guiding my position. Enemy weapon by which I've been killed: Laser designator and not the missile which hit me :D
-
I wasn't very clear but I meant the passenger seat on the stomper and both the driver and passenger seat on the quadbike. For example I placed myself at stratis airbase with an empty quadbike and a stomper (unarmed, not empty). Now, when you enter the quadbike (either driver or passenger) or the stomper as passenger, suddenly every noise is gone as if you were in a closed vehicle, like a hunter/ifrit/marid/marshall/... now switch between third and first person and you can clearly hear the difference.
-
This seems to be an issue for both the stomper now and the quadbike. You don't hear the environment when you're in first person and the engine sound's muffled too. It's like you're in a closed vehicle instead of an open one.
-
I think he means, you can sit in the stomper as a passenger and then drive into the water without drowning...
-
But the thing is, I want it to engage and fire its missiles but it shouldn't make a suicidal strafing run. It should do as it's told, flying high in the sky and engaging from there, not dive bombing.
-
This is also something that bugs me a bit at the moment. Also, when the UAV wants to engage an enemy vehicle it tries to make a strafing run instead of loitering high up in the sky and shooting the lased targets. I set type to Loiter and altitude to very high but the drone still makes a strafing run as soon as it engages enemy armor. What I also noticed: it does engage enemy armor and autonomous vehicles but does NOT engage enemy trucks. Only if you take control of turret position and lase the target manually, then it does engage even enemy trucks
-
Awesome! Those UAVs work better than I expected :) I was surprised how you can finally change altitude and behaviour on UAVs. They're a real charm!

No, some day doesn't mean maybe. "Some day" means that it's being worked on and will definately come but there's no exact date when. "Maybe" implies that it's not sure if it's even being worked on.
