    Susat Scope

"Once turned on"? I was under the impression that the top of the reticle was illuminated by tritium and thus, could not be turned on nor off.

    Potential DLC Ideas and Proposals

As mentioned above DLC will probably not be engine upgrades, but rather units, maps, etc. I am still very hopeful for some varied terrain like swamps, muddy ground, snow, lakes, streams, rivers, etc. Other than that, we definitely need some Israeli mushroom hats, and a map with several fragmented islands, like something you'd see in Indonesia or ya know...Greece. More units and assets in general is pretty much a given, as mentioned above, south eastern Asia would be awesome. I can just imagine how beautiful and scary a triple canopy jungle would be in the middle of the night with A3's new lighting, your only source for light being a few moonlit slivers here and there with bursts of gunfire and muzzle flashes all around.
  3. You and I think exactly alike. Take a look at this video, you'll like what you see. (TL: DR for the video, US soldiers now have a pod UAV they launch in the air and it has an explosive on it, it flys down to the target and detonates.)
  4. Wow that's long and really comprehensive, just awesome.

Lol that's the key word 'maybe'.

All this buzz about the performence issue

That's not true, at all. Many people still have major performance issues with Arma 2. I for example, get 8-25 FPS on almost all multiplayer servers because I have ATI and AMD hardware, despite the fact that I have a 1050T 6 core 3.7ghz processor and a 6890 with plenty of ram and an SSD, and I can get 80-100 FPS and max out any game out there. Yet, if I go on an Nvidia and Intel machine, and join the same server, I can get 40-60 FPS. Yes, performance increases were made, but to say that they fixed it is a plain lie, and as you can tell I'm sure, I along with many others doubt the Arma 3 performance issues will be fixed like they need to be if Arma 2 still has its issues. Seems to me Arma needs a new engine if they continue to run so many tasks on the CPU, and the game utilizes so little of everyone's hardware. The GPUs today are so capable of performing massive calculations, I really don't know why they're not being utilized to their full potential.
  7. I'm sorry but you don't know what you're talking about. Hard ceramic plates cause little to no serious bruising, not enough to make you fall in pain. There are a few books on the subject, namely "On Combat", among others, that describes the main reason for soldiers falling to the ground or police officers after having been shot, with, or without a vest, is due to pure shock. That's assuming they do fall down in the first place. Many people get shot and do not fall down as well. More on topic, woo hoo for less action menu clutter.
  8. Because the game simply is terribly optimized. You can get someone with equal system specs, using different hardware brands, and the FPS difference is abysmal. I can go on Arma 3 with a 6 core 1050T AMD overclocked to 3.7ghz and it uses 15% of my processor. The gameplay is nice, and BIS certainly upgraded the game, but we were all really expecting much more. If the guns they have now are essentially final release, I'm really disappointed.

    SOC WIP Thread

Quoted for truth. Also, a lot of guys do group buys on gucci-gear like Crye and LBT. I've seen quite a few Mayflower APCs also.

    Missing 3D tank interiors

I'm definitely a quality over quantity kinda person. I'm crossing my fingers they will implement full 3D interiors once they have all of the basic vehicles for each faction such as an attack chopper for each side, an APC, and etc. Then after, hopefully they'll continue to roll out vehicles for each side as time permits for quality.
  11. The MCC lags slightly, like a half a second after you hit the place button, while VTS is instant. I just prefer the MCC menu and being able to change what I place or preview various objects without closing the 3D portion. Plus I'm slightly bias to the MCC controls, I'm so use to them :P I agree though, both reading premade scenarios like that would be great. I've become a GM junkie, it's just so fun to do lol.
  12. The losses and gains are negligible, and only noticeable if you were to attach a suppressor to a very long range weapon. If you were to attach a suppressor to a long range weapon such as a Tac-50, the ammo and suppressor would be specifically designed to mitigate any issues of decreasing performance. Much like the Mk18. When the Mk18 was developed, it was designed to use a specific type of ammo to ensure reliability while suppressed and unsuppressed while not decreasing performance. Unless BIS starts literally simulating bullet physics, velocities, and the power of the cartridge, there is really no reason to include anything that decreases or increases performance when using suppressors.

    Takedown: Red Sabre

I have my hopes are artificially high simply because I want to see a game like this, but from what I have seen from the youtube videos and documentation on their website, I'm not impressed.
  14. Yeah, I know about the box generator button, I was just trying to figure out if there was a way to get something spawned in like the Virtual Gear Box showing a selection of everything without manual spawning. Thanks for the reply.
  15. I was using this all last night. What an awesome mod.

    MK18 Mod 1

These are some really awesome weapons. I hope this kind of quality is kept up throughout all of the future A3 mods. Really good job. The rear sight peep hole is pretty accurate, I just wish there was a way to blur out the back sight a bit making your FOV wider just like the rear peep sight does IRL when viewing iron sights.

    Flashbang

I played a mission for like two hours last night. My buddies and I all had flashbangs and we were clearing out enemy strongholds in Ageia Marina. They worked wonderfully. I'll have to download the new version and try it out. A few times we shot like crazy thinking we didn't kill an enemy because of the flash animation lol. Anyhow, thanks!
  18. Yeah, I have been using the MCC for a long time. Right now I currently run VTS, with the MCC mod also running, because I love the features of both of them. Like VTS is just amazing to quickly place down units to randomly patrol, or put in buildings, and I really like the gun shop and how VTS automatically detects mods like the MGB Killhouses. The AI micro management and skill selection also makes Arma 3 so much better so the AI don't head shot you from 500m away. But, I prefer the MCC Sandbox for some things, like the 3D editor which is easier to choose what you want to place, and it's smoother. It also has a better GUI and you can more precisely change the time of day or weather and etc or place IEDs. It would just be nice to be able to run VTS as a mod like the MCC Sandbox so I can spice up a game of domination or GM a mission my friends are playing. I wanted to just say thanks for continuing such an awesome project.
  19. Suppressors alone don't reduce range. There is no discernible downside to utilizing a suppressor. A suppressor and silencer are the same thing, they are simply different names, like saying soda vs pop. In direct impingement firearms such as the AR-15 a lot of gas blows back in your face, whereas a gas piston shoots any excess gasses, which there are more of when using a suppressor, into the air out near the barrel rather than blowing back in your face through the chamber. I really hope the devs do proper research. (I'm sure they do.) The misinformation on the forums and on the Alpha Bug Tracker is astounding.
  20. As noted by Smurf, speak for yourself, but from my experience, as I said, it most certainly adds to the overall experience, and can ruin the momentum the game when placed in conjunction with everything else that's going no in the battlefield. While not completely necessary, it adds the final piece of the pie. While there are exceptions to every rule, children in general shouldn't be playing Arma anyhow.
  21. Not quite. While I do create many mission to play with my friends, I at times also want to be surprised, so I'll play something like a domination or insurgency game mode. The problem when playing those game modes then, is I can't for instance add a small enemy base to a town, or put up patrols outside the red squares in insurgency or on a side mission, making it a tad more difficult. Or perhaps at times I want to simply spawn a gun for myself during a mission for fun. In any case, while the flexibility of the VTS mission is huge, there is still a definite need for a mod version, which I am humbly requesting.
  22. I disagree. There's a reason why some people carry secondary weapons, and damaging a weapon like that can have a huge impact on a firefight. One less person means possibly a bullet not hitting an MG, which means an entire squad could die. A real life example of this is during Operation Red Wings, one of the guys took a round through his M110 magazine and it forced him to reload, taking time out of the firefight. Plus, it adds a sense of urgency to the general feel of what's going on at that point in the game. I've hit people's rocket launchers on their backs or their rifles in their hands more times than I can remember. I mean, you play the game enough it's bound to happen, but not every game to be an 'annoyance' like you said. The point of Arma is to give an authentic experience, and small things like that make a huge difference on your gameplay.
  23. Ah, touche. I personally would like to see serious, graphic injuries. To anyone who has played Red Orchestra 2, you know what I mean when I say it just makes the overall experience more visceral. Seeing a buddy's leg blown off when a grenade is chucked into your bunker really has a huge affect on how you play and react compared to seeing a body slump over.
  24. Great mod, I've been using it since it's inception, and was using the 6th Sense MCC back when it was still around with the simple grey menus. I have a question though. I installed the MGB Killhouse mod, but in the MCC the buildings do not show up on the list of the 3D editor like they do in the 2D editor, is there a way to fix this? Also, is there a way to add my own custom gearbox through the MCC without having to edit the template myself? What I mean by custom gearbox is utilizing one of the scripted gearboxes that contain a GUI where you can select everything. That is just much easier rather than spawning each individual item for all of my friends through the Gearbox creator.
  25. Really cool, keep the work up. I was curious, is it possible to make this into a mod, so I can utilize it with any mission?
