Glad to hear it!

So I've noticed and others on my team have noticed that your rifle shoots low, namely low and left. Even when made as stable as possible with repeated shots at various ranges, they will always fall low and left. I had heard members mention it a few times, but first noticed it myself as I was doing extensive testing on all of the weapon addons out there to determine which was the best for official use by my team. I am sure I am not the first to bring this up, but are their any plans to address this accuracy issue? Honestly, it's not even an accuracy issue, I'd call it a sighting issue. Will it ever be fixed so that, say 300m or 200m even it has a true zero?
-
Glad to hear it. Full disclosure, I may have a huge erection from this news.
-
I know what it does in real life... I brought it up because what it does in the game isn't what it does in real life. It makes it into a small little black smudge line that you don't notice with your eye behind it. Whereas in game it's a giant block of front sight post the same as if I was using a red dot. I wasn't aware there was a 2D Acog in your pack, what I was basically asking for was you to make the ACOG 2D as I understand the giant front sight post is because it is a 3D scope so when it magnifies it magnifies everything in front of it, if there already is a 2D one somewhere in the mod than as you were. Other than that great mod, can't wait for the new release and maybe hopefully there is an M4 BLOCK II in there somewhere. I mean, I doubt it ,but I can dream.
-
Please don't make it a required mod though as some others have done. A lot of teams don't use TMR for various reasons and my team would definitely still love to use your mod when it comes out, we've been watching it for a while now.
-
Any chance of redesigning the ACOG so that there isn't a giant front-sight blocking half the view?

Magwell gripping is for movie stars and people who don't know what they're doing. I mean unless every Military instructor, firearms instructor, and cool mother fucker I've ever met or been taught by was full of shit. To give a better answer than just the smart ass one, the reason why magwell gripping is bad is due to your point of gravity. When you grip on the magwell your hands are close together, this creates a very close movement axis and very low stability. When you extend your hand out further you create more stability in your shooting stance and it spreads the weight of the weapon out further. Allowing for great accuracy and stamina. And a higher output of bodies slain. The thought or school of shooting is always changing as well, while in the 90s or early 2000s close axis shooting like that may have been thought as a good way to shoot, that is no longer the case. Hell, the school of thought now is moving away from vertical foregrips all together and just gripping the rifle forward and more naturally by nothing other than the rail. If you want a good example of shooting idealogy changing, look at how we shoot pistols 5 years ago to how the common method is now, with off-hand applying more pressure on the gun itself and less on the strong-hand. /rant

I've been waiting for something like this, at least in regards to the building add-on respect. There are no highly explorable buildings over 2 stories tall and I think with the vast improvement of A3s CQB enviroment, it's definitely a missed opportunity. I am definitely looking forward to this, especially if you can shoot through the glass. -
This isn't an actual Norwegian Forces mod, this is just QC placing the norwegian camouflage over units. Also, hello Quake, you're not safe from MPN anywhere. ;)

Troubadour replied to max power's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
First off, you can port anything made for ARMA 2 to ARMA 3. Second, it is unlikely any modder will want to model and design an entirely new Challenger 2 for you. Third, this is Alpha, we have no idea what vehicles they are adding in yet. It is almost completely pointless for someone to model and put something in an Alpha before they even know if BIS plans to do one themselves. -
I feel like this is gonna piss off BI that you've unlocked stuff they didn't want played with yet.
-
No, this thought process needs to stop. ARMA 3 is a military simulator, not a sci-fi game. People are seeming to forget that. Anyways, moving on. It would be interesting to see some Eastern small arms make its way into this. Too often weapon packs are overly western. Fucking thank you! It's refreshing to see this! Too many people are going crazy, "Oh, well one time someone on History Channel mentioned jet packs so obviously we should all ride Ptereodactyl's in 2035..." -
Realistic Guerrilla Warfare mod ? is it Possible?
Troubadour replied to msd's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
The easiest way to do Insurgency is to have a 60 player server and do it Project Reality style. Where you have actual people playing as the insurgents, give them very limited supplies ala PR and give the BluFor a vast amount of supplies. You can throw in the regular Co-Op Insurgency mission from Arma 2 to make it even more interesting. Limit the insurgency side to about 20 and the BluFor to 40. -
Which island/map would you like to be ported to A3 First?
Troubadour replied to zukas3's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Isla Duala, one of the best maps I've ever played on. Only, since we have a new engine, I'd like to see it made even bigger. -

Arma 3 US Army Helmets

Nice, now it looks pro. After you get the other issues worked out, you should add little touches on the helmet band, like blood type or something. Also, on the ear part of the helmet on the covers, there is a little folliage green strap that covers up the IR tab on the side. It was on the cover I was issued and every one elses cover I saw. You can see it here: http://i16.servimg.com/u/f16/13/56/31/65/usachh11.jpg -
Arma 3 US Army Helmets
Troubadour replied to austina1986's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Looks good, one thing to point out though, Army had switched to the ACH before it switched over to the ACU. The Marines still use a PASGT look-a-like called the LWH. So it would be more correct in marpat for Muhreens! -

#1 reason I hate super-futuristic Iran in this game... All of their technological advancements in this game aren't made-up press shots with Adjhaminanenadedad. Then again, since their "thermal jumpsuit" doesn't actually work maybe it is completely accurate to Iran. -

Troubadour replied to max power's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Thank you, that was all I was looking for. Was just a bit irritated by JohnnyCage's post. Thank you for the explanation. That is quite disappointing to hear. I was just a bit confused by it, because the mod I linked to used completely different models for it's replacement pack so I figured there was a way to do it. I guess if there is not, there is not. Thank you. -
ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread
Troubadour replied to max power's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
That really isn't explaining why this would be any different from ARMA 2 replacement packs. I was able to replace units in game and no one else had to download that... Do you guys just not recognize what a replacement pack is or is there a reason why that is not gonna happen in ARMA 3? A replacement pack is different from an ADD-ON as a Replacement pack allows me to replace the textures I see and not add a different unit. There are already replacement packs made for ARMA 3. So please explain more or stop saying "It wouldn't work" without telling me why it wouldn't work. Just in case you aren't sure what a replacement pack is here is an example: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=14868 That replaces the units I see in game, but anyone playing with me does not need to have that pack. It only changes how I see the Delta Operators. -

ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread
Troubadour replied to max power's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I know at this point, with so many projects about and so many just plain well, fucking silly requests in this thread no modder is probably paying attention to this thread anymore. However, I'd still like to throw out a request. Can someone make a replacement pack for the Iranian forces, where their camouflage isn't changed, but instead they use the U.S Uniform style and wear U.S style helmets. So basically, just take the Iranian camouflage and put it on a U.S style uniform and then replace it for the Iranian uniform and take their helmets and use U.S helmets, but just color them in the Iranian style. I am not into the look of the current Iranian forces and it really just ruins the game for me. I am not looking for a standalone, but a replacement pack, so that others I play with don't need this mod to play with me and I am the only one who sees it differently. Because there are people who do like the look and I would still like to be able to play with them. Thank you. -
Any chance you could remove the branch of Military specific patches on the uniforms. If I want to play as an Army group it kind of ruins it when there is a big "MUHREENS!" patch on the chest. Thank you.
