I noticed since the alpha how many vehicles shared the exact same weapons but didn't say anything. Now the final content has been shown and it's gotten worse not better. Using the mind-bogglingly boring HMG and/or GMG loadout: blufor mrap hmg, blufor mrap gmg, opfor mrap hmg, opfor mrap gmg, aaf mrap hmg, aaf mrap gmg, blufor ugv, opfor ugv, blufor ifv, blufor rcv, opfor apc, blufor speedboat, opfor speedboat And now for inexplicable reasons using identical turrets: the opfor ifv and aaf apc, the blufor AAA and opfor AAA, the blufor artillery and opfor artillery. And something tells me we won't see much performance difference between the mbt and mlrs turrets. Weapons are the main way you interact with the gaming world. Cool guns and weapon systems are what gamers and milsim nerds crave. To know that whether it's a jeep or an IFV you'll only get the phut-phut-phut of the GMG is such a buzzkill. It's why I've exclusively used the Kamysh in my games. Where are all the unique vehicles that keep fans coming back to them? You've already stripped out so much content and now this? You said "quality over quantity", but what quality? It's just copied & pasted assets.

It would've been rather easy to solve. I don't get why the GMG/HMG turret is so prevalent. On something like the UGV that could have had something fun like quad miniguns. -

Their models were complete. They're variants of existing vehicles so we know the physics models were also done. Why remove them? That Patria was one of the few vehicles to not have a copy & pasted weapons system. Balance? Didn't stop you putting in all 4 versions of the Stryker vs outdated Soviet tech in Operation Arrowhead. I saw a video of someone firing 3 shells from the Slammer into an empty L-159 before it blew up. Indicates severely underpowered.

I think the GBUs are like previous games where they have literally no guidance a la WW2 bombers. Which is sad because even modders could add in an Ace Combat style predictive pipper in previous games.

Can't remember anyone claiming that. And they'd certainly have been drowned out by the multiple posts & threads pointing out the C&P between units. -
Is it just the offroad that has these functions? There was a mention of a Hunter Riot Police in the files.

I can't tell if that's a mea culpa or a shifting of the goalposts. We could move onto BLUFOR and OPFOR having identical turrets pasted onto their respective tank chassis if you like. -

Because I have a nice ACR L-159 vs A3 A-143 screen that shows that even the pixellation of the edges of certain textures is in the exact same place. -

Was it the quality? No, the F-35F model looked as good as the Buzzard's and check out the L-159's A3 cockpit with the A2 version: http://s13.postimg.org/5neqyt45z/comp.jpg Aside from lighting I really don't see any difference. It still has only one hitpoint and no PiP displays. Don't mistake this as an argument for the L-159 to be cut as well. I've given up any hope of aerial vehicles being enhanced for A3, and I wouldn't be struggling with half-working A2 ports if I didn't think A2-level quality wasn't good enough. Was it the weapons? No, the pbo files show the F35 used the same ones as the L-159 (GBUs, ATGMs, ASRAAMs). Balance? No, there is no singleplayer campaign for it to unbalance. Jets in Arma aren't developed enough to have individual unique attributes aside from a better turning rate and more missiles. And it's not like the F35 could unbalance the game any more than 2 of 3 factions having no jets at all. A game-stopping bug unique to the F35 unit, maybe? No, a direct-feed stage demonstration showed it flying around just fine. Maybe it was a late addition? Nope! Appeared in some of the very first media and got a lot more screentime than the L-159. In fact let's remind ourselves just how prominently it featured: vs Is there any plausible explanation? -

You're going to get fanboys derailing your thread for even mentioning DayZ and BF3. For structure check out "Whole Lotta Stratis" and "Whole Lotta Altis (WIP)". They are heavily structured SP & MP missions where you must conquer the whole map. You take over camps, bring in reinforcements, etc. Had a very nice balance to it. Did any of the showcase missions appeal to you? There are some similar scenarios in the User Missions section.

Thank you so much for leaving it till barely a month before release before telling us. Thank you so much for using it as an opportunity to also remove a bunch of weapons and units. Thank you so much for producing the least amount of content seen in an Arma game ever. Thank you so much for half the vehicles being copy & pasted units. Thank you so much for leaving the implementation of such basic infantry combat fundamentals such as suppression and wounding to the consumers. Thank you so much for buildings that are the same barren, fps-sucking repetitive shells we saw in Arma 1. -
Only two weapons and one vehicle are fictional. The future setting was just an excuse to re-spec all the factions with new toys.

Seems doable to me. We could shrink the water distance so that each island is just outside visual range from the other's shores. -

Take a look at how many different weapon systems there are in real life US vehicles alone. Or at how many different ones there were in Arma 2. Or at how many systems use the same ammo but have different delivery systems. The US and Iran both buy the exact same turrets for their MRAPs, APCs, UGVs, Speedboats and Heavy Artillery from the same manufacturer? To pretend A3's just mimicking reality is disingenuous at best. -
Would like some proper rugged terrain and inclines. At the moment there are some hills, but that's it. Don't be afraid to use your imagination when it comes to the heightmaps. No longer constrained by Lemnos's real geography. Get that you need some wide open ground for tank warfare but it seems the island half that's east of the "bottleneck" is entirely flat. That's about 60% of the landmass. edit: oh, and an increase in the number of lit streetlamps would be nice. Should be able to trace the routes between towns from the air.

What if I want to fight a blufor vehicle with another one? What happens when the mods start flowing and they all get assigned to blufor even if they aren't part of NATO? That isn't a solution.
