Hell in the Pacific 0.5 beta release
SnakeTheFox replied to Waxbutter's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
There seems to be a conflict with your mod and ASR AI. Whenever I play the two together I'm bombarded with hundreds of error messages which state: "Error in expression <_dangerCausedBy call asr_ai_main_fnc_isUnc> Error position: <asr_ai_main_fnc_isUnc> Error Undefined variable in expression: asr_ai_main_fnc_isUnc" A guess at what the conflict is? Does your mod alter AI in a way that would make it incompatible with mods like ASR AI? ASR AI runs fine with most of my other mods like I44 and ACE. Anyway, the models, sounds, and textures of this mod all seem very amazing and well-crafted from what I've seen so far, but ArmA 2 has always struggled with incredibly inane and stupid AI (as a consequence of its scale); after experienced the game-changing glory which is ASR AI, I have trouble playing ArmA 2 (vanilla or otherwise) against bots without this enabled. It just makes them so much more human-like. So any help is truly appreciated. -
The only threads found were old and locked because you're "not supposed to bump threads past 4 months", as it stated in the threads, which is in the rules. If you read 1 sentence into the post you'd realize I know that, which is why it was a suggestion to make it possible. How about you read the post first? Anyway whatever, I don't do forums with heavy-handed moderators, not worth the effort. You can remove this account, I'm done here.

The HDR in this game is absolutely out of control. I love ArmA/OFP, I've bought every one of your games and their expansions. But a persistent problem since ArmA has been overreaching and poorly programmed HDR. I'm not a fan of gaming HDR in general (am I viewing the game through a camera lens?), but it's usually a setting you can tweak or is at least hardly noticeable. In ArmA 2 it is both unnervingly unrealistic and overbearing, and also uncontrollable. This has been an issue since ArmA and it'd be nice if it was fixed. The fix is straightforward: just let us turn it off if we so choose. Even for those who don't care about the image quality, the ability to turn HDR off has the tertiary benefit of assisting performance. Things that don't help: the "remove HDR" mod. Doesn't work in the latest versions. Turning HDRPrecision up to 16 or 32 in the config file. Doesn't solve the problem, only makes it a slightly less ugly one in exchange for a considerable performance hit on top of what HDR already does. Here's an example of my aggravation: At first, everything is okay. Nice looking game. I've touched no settings here. Game is on default brightness/gamma. "HDR" in its original photography technique was to remove glare and lens flare from an image and make it clearer, whether by reducing or inducing saturation of light, thus making it more natural. HDR in video games works merely by injecting intense light where it doesn't belong, producing idiosyncrasies and achieving theopposite result. Demonstrated here: So the 3 benefits of removing HDR are: 1) Improved performance especially on systems that are already struggling to keep up (like mine) 2) More realistic and natural image quality for any soldier with human, non-camera-lens eyes 3) No more "glow" lighting bugs Please, consider it. You're welcome to enjoy HDR if you so please, but it should at least be an option.

Scorpion misses the flashlight

Do any weapons in vanilla A2/OA have working flashlights? I've never looked, but I don't think they do.
