    Excellent! I'm very happy you got this running, and your welcome.

    So for those new folks that are getting the game and have the game but need to install, follow the tutorial below:

    How to install Arma2 and OA to get Arma2CO (Combined Ops)

    1. Install Arma2 & run once

    2. Install OA -(Operation Arrowhead) & run once

    3. Patch OA using the 1.60 patch

    apply 1.60, then download and install patch version 1.62 below

    4. Patch OA using the 1.62 patch

    Important Notes:

    =The 1.60 patch and 1.62 patches will update both your ARMA 2 , and OA to the latest version.

    =If you wanted to go back to an older game version (patch version) then you will have to uninstall the game and reinstall.

    =Be sure to run your game as administrator, or it may not start after applying the patches.

    How to find out what version of the game you have:

    There are a couple of ways to do this:

    Option 1. Go to your Arma2 directory and locate the arma2oa.exe, right click it, go to properties (at bottom), then go to the

    version tab File version at the top with a number is what you want.

    Option 2. Start your game, once on the menu look at the bottom right of the screen and you should see a number

    with 3 digits, looks like this: 1.62.95.248

    Desktop Shortcut

    Here are a way to create a desktop shortcut:

    Locate your Arma2 directory, inside the directory locate your Arma2oa.exe, right click it and then got to where it says "send to" then

    "click on Desktop (create shortcut)this will put a fresh shortcut on your desktop with the correct folder address in the target

    line and in the start in line of the shortcut.

    Lets go to your desktop shortcut, right click it, go to properties, in the window under shortcut tab, you should see the first line which is called Target

    In the target line (open space next to it) you should have the folder address pointing to your Arma2oa.exe, like this:

    C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2oa.exe

    Start in

    in the box next to start in, you should have only the folders pointing to your Arma2 directory, like below:

    C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2

    Ok, i don't know what happened but this morning i started my pc up and tried to play it, it then started to do what my problem was before, not starting so i tried the "Run As... and then hit admin typed in my password and it still didn't work, so i don't know.

    ok i am running Xp 32 bit

    CPU - Core 2 Due 3.00 Ghz (E8400)

    Graphics card - ATI Radeon HD 5670 1024 MB

    RAM - 2GB

    and my computer is running as admin by default i will double check on that though

    and i can't take out the last " in my target line - C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2oa.exe" or it will say " the name "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2oa.exe specified in the target box is not valid. Make sure both path and file name are correct"

    ok it seems to be working currently EXTREME HAPPY FACE all i did was click run as... and then clicked my user name and hit ok and it launched it is at version 1.62.95248

    ok in my Computer in program files i have ArmA 2 folder with folders in it

    Missions

    MPMissions

    Keys

    Dta

    Expansion

    dll

    Common

    BattlEye

    AddOns

    And in my Docoments i have 2 folders

    ArmA 2

    BIS Core Engines

    Thats all my ArmA 2 folders on my Computer

    true, but i can't ring Bohemia Interactive becasue 1) I KNOW the will be able to fix it BUT they don't have a call centre in Australia :(

    yes i am pretty sure i have it installed, as i was once able to play it for bout 10 mins then tried to install second disk and then it didn't work
