You closed my thread without answering the question. When I try to build a base I can't build anywhere around me. The base style graphic shows up red. If I point to the horizon it shows up green. What are the rules for building bases please? I have read various guides for this game. I have read the manual. I have searched the internet and I have searched this forum. If this is a duplicate then please point me in the direction of the duplicate. Thanks In advance.

I've gone from being a swift footed elite unit to some kind of civil engineer. Why am I building bases? What gives?... Anyway, when I try to build a base (which I'm assuming is linked to my drivable HQ) I can't build anywhere around me. The base style graphic shows up red. If I point to the horizon it shows up green. What are the secret, never disclosed, rules for building bases please?
