I didn't really know which forum to go to with this question, but I figured it would be in the interests of Bohemia Interactive to know. Apologies in advance if this is placed in the incorrect place.
It was brought to my attention that if you search "DayZ" on Steam, you get ARMA II: Combined Operations as a result. However, if you search "dayz" on Steam, you get the game The War Z as a result. I don't know how copyright works in terms of capitalization but considering how it's the same word and it is quite clear that someone searching for "dayz" on Steam or googling the term without proper capitalization is looking for the ARMA II mod, would Bohemia Interactive be able to flag this on Steam? DayZ, even though it is a mod and free, is still ARMA II's mod and has no relation whatsoever to The War Z.
I am irritated with the obvious attempt to mislead consumers searching for DayZ on Steam to buy a game that has no relation to the mod other than zombies.
Is it possible that Bohemia Interactive or even I, as a consumer, can flag this on Steam and is that even a viable thing to do? What about the DayZ developers? Because it's a free mod and they're not an established company, do they even have a right to do anything about this?
EDIT: DayZ is now being developed as a stand-alone game. So, that's even more reason to do anything about this if they consider putting their work on Steam.
SECOND EDIT: The War Z has now been removed from Steam! The problem is solved but I would appreciate my question answered still, please.
