Seems like your OA copy is using only 800MB of both GPU and local RAM (you have 2 GB for GPU and 8 GB for local, so it should use at least 1 GB GPU and 4 GB local RAM) you might want to tweak this, also, try lowering your resolution, resolution size does matter a lot, and can in fact kill performance with weaker CPU's.

Ouch, this topic shouldn't be discussed still LJ, check the global thread notices, they are updated :p About videos, since this is a sound mod demonstration, compress the video (can be crappy quality I don't care) and add quality audio in it from the original so that you have not too clear looking vid but clear sounding one. I used to do this with Nero Vision, you can find many free tools though on how to extract audio from video, compress the video and then add the audio (assuming you muted the one from the compressed vid) so this way you don't need to wait hours, rather minutes to upload.

In that case it's your cpu, what you can try is manual overclocking and settings, but this is for expert users only as it's very dangerous, so if you don't know anything about it don't try it. About reinstalling OS and formatting drives lots of times a year, that's bad. I can't remember when did I last reinstall everything (hopefully wont need anytime soon, or at all) perhaps 4-5 years ago for one of test systems and over 6-8 years for my workstation (the few cases when I had to upgrade OS'es recently don't really count because it was just OS upgrade and not a complete reinstall, also hardware upgrades, I copy whole drive contents from one to another with special tools, make backups and then upgrade) The same goes for viruses, those pop only if you end up downloading awkward files, some may slip via legit channels although rarely. But then again, I'm using OpenBSD, XP, Vista and Mac OS X (Design only, almost untouched) :p I also tried W7 and W8RT, didn't like them much, perhaps I will get W8 soon as it looks promising.

USA Politics Thread - *No gun debate*

Might be a good concept, US needs something like this to get rid of all that racism that's rising. Well, few politicians tried actually, only to get put astray by others with more power. Immigration is like getting someone uninvited at your front doors, you may decide to take them in or not, they may also slip in, some choose to stay and help you around if you let them, others refuse to leave and then they take your property (or your life). That being said, not all immigrants cause problems, some in fact bring a lot of value and help people around because they had nothing and all of sudden they have life to live so now they want to return the favor and share the happiness, this is however rare, kudos to those. Immigration is one of many problems, and if nobody is willing to resolve this properly it will eventually grow too big and cause massive damage. P.S. Ivan and Martin are released, you may remove your sig attachment ;)

This is interesting. Have you scanned your pc for viruses and adware/malware? If not, do a deep scan for both (Free alternatives AVG Antivirus and Microsoft Security Essentials, for viruses and AdAware or even better Spybot Search And Destroy for adware/malware, notice these two are different) It may be that your system is infected and the infection is sending data or attempting to pack up data periodically. If you find nothing then it's probably your CPU's fault, in which case you should replace it.

Both of you are right, see that's why immigration is a big problem in US particularly, a very touchy topic. It's also damaging to the countries immigrants come from as most of those who flee are better than majority from the country they are leaving, which only adds more damage to their native country as their country loses hard working individuals who are willing to live life unlike others who probably said to themselves "s**w it, we will all die here like this and there's no way out" However, hard work is useless if a nation is divided, as much as legally born citizens are useless when they can't prevent such things from happening.

Ivan and Martin, yes, they deserve their time off with their families. This news must be a huge relief for BI generally, that's what I meant :)
  8. Awesome, thanks! Do I need to place units on map to get them listed, and can i get infantry, magazines, weapons and other things listed this way as well? Would be cool to have, but not a top priority, perhaps if civillian vehicles are added someone could make a WW2 Life mission lol. About 7z files being passworded. 7z files and winrar don't play well, I suggest you always use 7zip as it's free, stable, easy to use and extracts files perfectly unlike winrar that can mess things up.

Too complex to be a script, I guess ;) Though a script version as well would be nice too.

Since you are using W7, and several users suggested from tests, try this parameter in your A2/A2OA/A2CO shortcut: It should improve performance slightly, to remove this effect simply remove this parameter from the shortcut.
  12. Thanks a lot! Exactly what I was looking for.
  13. Yes I know that one, very simple to use. The PDF readme file explains it perfectly :)

A really good script. I already added it to one of my missions (USMC Sweepers) If CMS was a script too I would add it to Sweepers as well, otherwise I will wait for the mod release :p
  15. It's free if you are the host, payware if you pay for their servers, that's what I meant. The same case is with Mumble and many other voice chat tools, except that it's cheaper. It would be cool to have ACRE standalone app to use, maybe someday:j:
  16. Why 4-5 hours? It would take maximum 30 minutes I guess, with ConTEXT that is. Anyway, I need just classnames, something both you and Pac supplied, so no need to push this one further :) I see you know a lot about DAC, can you help me solve these issues? - http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?99753-Dynamic-AI-Creator-%28DAC%29-V3-0-released&p=2278463#post2278463 If you can, much appreciated :D
  17. Just because masses use TS3 doesn't mean Mumble sucks, it's like saying that COD beats ArmA 2 because so many people play COD compared to ArmA 2's audience... On top of that, Mumble is free open source, TS3 is scraped up payware (You as a client don't have to pay for basic use, but those who want to host a server get ripped off). How? It's not popular like TS3, thereby it can't be overrated. LOL. Underrated maybe. I have a very good mic (several to be exact) as I do sound design for my apps and games, and as such I can notice huge audio quality difference between TS3 and Mumble where TS3 uses more compression and applies soft low pass filtering to make an artificial pop filter (thus fool people that it's more quality) while broadcasting sound output at maximum 96kbps which is very low compared to Mumble's 256kbps (CD quality) output, the reason Mumble sounds artificial is because people don't know how to properly set it up as mumble offers not only quality parameters, but pingback, effects, 3D and other settings unavailable in TS3, Mumble by default uses high ping rate which may result in stuttering and robotic voice effect if you are playing a resource hungry game, but this can be fixed in settings very easily. Might be an isolated case with my systems, though I noticed that while mumble takes only 1.5 mb of RAM TS3 can use around 10 to 15 MB, both values are insignificant today as RAM memory is a plenty, but you can clearly see a huge difference. As for processing power, both use low amount, 1-2 percents of total. Each to their own they say. You like TS3, keep using it, I have nothing against it, I use it too. But I will take Mumble or even VON over TS3 any day.

It seems like that your system hardware is conflicting, this happened to me few times when I upgraded my workstation setup's parts. You have to make sure that each hardware piece is compatible with other or you may get not only bad performance but permanent hardware damage or even failure. There's two tools you should try, Cpu Z for CPU information and GPU Z for your GPU information, from these you can monitor fan speeds, clock speeds, system detected data, temperatures, etc. If you spot anything suspicious then better fix it soon. Also note that BIOS upgrades may lead to such slowdowns if an incorrect version is applied. As for memory allocators, maybe I can help you out, what OS are you using, XP, Vista, W7, W8 or dual boot?
  19. That sounds awesome, the sad part is however that I am a rookie with A2's scripting (started only recently) so getting everything right would take some time, of which speaking off I don't have much freely available either as holiday season is ending and lots of work is kicking in. So the new classlist is either delayed or dropped I suppose :) Looking forward to 2.64, even if it comes after a month from now :p

As a saying goes - Your internet is as fast as your computer is, and your computer online is as fast as your internet is. In other words, if you have poor connection you will have bad framerates even though your system specs can back up everything maxed out. if internet speed and internet stability is not your issue, try this - http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?143792-General-System-Tweak-Guide If even that doesn't help, then something is wrong with your system's hardware.
  21. For me the previous links and examples you posted are just fine. I can absolutely use that without a problem, so big thanks :) What I suggested was that if I can have some raw data (lists perhaps) with class names and display names in same text file I could use some batch conversion tools and create neat classlists for others to use since the ones you linked are sort of outdated. This is of course not necessary at all. It's also sort of easy to blend the classnames and display names together in a single text file, however they are easier to use if split apart since you can then copy-paste all classnames without display names interfering and use start and end characters for batch conversion. An example bellow (just random stuff) done with start and end replacements once that took around 20-30 seconds from opening the text file, setting proper replacement entries and pasting it here: SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_MGCrew_AG,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_ATCrew_M3,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_M1A1Bazooka,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_Engr_M1Mine,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_Engr_M1A1Bangalore,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_Engr_M2DemoCharges,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_Engr_M37DemoKit,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_Engr_M2_2,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_M1Garand_M7,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_M1903A3_M1,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_GunCrew_M1Carbine,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_GunCrew_NCO_M1911A1,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_M1919A4,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_Medic,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_MCrew_C,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_MCrew_G,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_NCO_M1Carbine,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_NCO_M1Garand,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_NCO_M1A1Thompson,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_CO_M1Carbine,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_CO_M1911A1,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_RTO_M1Carbine,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_Sniper_M1903A4,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_M1Carbine,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_M1Garand,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_M1903A3,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_M1918A2,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_M1A1Thompson,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_M3Greasegun,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_Crew_M1911A1,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_Crew_M3Greasegun,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_Crew_NCO_M1911A1,1,0,0]; SpawnSomething [i44_Man_A_Army_Crew_Eng,1,0,0];

USA Politics Thread - *No gun debate*

Depends from which side you are looking at it ;) If you are the one seeking a better life in another country, then it's the best thing that can happen to you and your family, if you are a native to your country, then immigration is a very bad thing because it not only distorts your original country's culture but puts your country at risk because most immigrants come with almost nothing, have to build from scratch, live in the shadows, are poorly educated and can't find proper jobs, and if they can't find proper jobs they commit crimes. It's a very important yet sensitive topic, specially in the US where half are white, other half are mixed/black and each race holds different views regardless of whether immigrants are white, mixed, black or whatever. Helping someone is a good thing for humanity, US does this by letting many immigrants flock in and live a better life, but this comes with a very high price of nationwide instability (just take a look at all those protests, Anonymous-like groups, etc) which almost always results in a civil war (in developed nations) or invasion (in poor 3rd world countries). The reason why immigration views may be labeled as racist is because most immigrants are mixed race and because of their cultural diversity they gather up in same places (China towns, Indian blocks, etc) places that then end up being poorly developed because all those immigrants had to start from little or nothing at all and compete with people who have a lot more than them. This then leads to racial abuse and eventually to bloodshed, we all know who wins this fight.

Exactly, that's why I thought the black hawks didn't have the stealth ones shape, but then again, it's now clear those haws in OA are just regular hawks except with extra equipment. BI added Comanche in ArmA 3, a secret prototype helicopter. So it shouldn't surprise if even a stealthed hawk appeared in game. Anyway, JSRS 1.5 rocks big time, thanks for all your effort JSRS team :)
  24. I see, well if you can't change it from options, you will have to "patch" some language files then. I think languagescore.pbo is the file you need, perhaps you can ask a friend to send you this (with corresponding bikeys) so you can "patch" it to English. Though be careful, make a backup of everything you are about to modify, also do this on your own risk as "patching" files this way may lead to you being kicked/banned from servers automatically. You can also try enter this in your ArmA2 or ArmA 2 OA cfg (found in documents folders) file in the 1st line: If your game has the English language bundled it will use it after this parameter is applied.

USA and guns, not really possible. USA politics and guns, somewhat. Truth be told, guns aren't main problem in the US, whatsoever most of the supplies made it to mid east while crime rates are on decline across US, the reason why it's so hyped in this thread and across the globe is media, majority of people will believe what they see on tv, but then again that's another story. What's really going wrong in US is high levels of immigration, worsening health care, higher taxes, bank loans, lack of education in some areas, ageing road infrastructure, war/combat expenses, gadget materials (most are imported, which costs a lot) unhealthy food, endangered cultures, etc.
