    Awful lag decent specs

Can you please go to pingtest.net, do a test, then place results here and then go to pingtest.net and place results here as well? Cable is very accurate and decently fast, so I don't think there's something wrong with your speed, but in some cases (although rare) your connection specially if limited can send/receive some packets either too fast or too slow so there's a "congestion" that throttles your CPU. After I see the test results I will let you know is your connection a problem or not.

USA Politics Thread - *No gun debate*

That's partially true. US consists of many cultures that were passed from generation to generation in US (and even in Western Europe) over centuries. The cultures I was referring about were the new invasive ones that disrupt what was proven stable and used for so long. Once again, immigration/cultures are just part of a much bigger problem going on. Saying how other cultures coming into US rapidly is a good thing is like saying that it's good to mix world's animal species on an isolated island where nature did its work the best way it can be. The only case where this is good is when things are changed step by step and gradually so that everything and everyone around can adapt, which used to happen before but not any longer. Now, sadly, there are more "al quaedas" in the US than in middle east, more slums than in latin america's, more racism than in india and central europe. I know about such things because it's not happening only in US but in Russia as well (In Germany, UK, Switzerland, Norway and few others too) with an exception that in Russia people hold their s**te together and push the bad immigrants out violently but accept the ones who are actually decent people worth living in a 21st century nation and use legal channels to enter properly, it's one of reasons why Moscow has the most richest individuals per capita, why our gaming and design industry is booming and designers/developers like me can afford to travel across the globe then see things, learn, and later influence others in a positive (or negative) way. US needs something like this, which I hope will come and prevent the worst from happening. In the 1980's and early 90's up to 2000 average American would welcome you warmly to his/her home, offer you a drink, shelter, food, an opportunity, show you his/her country's great heritage, introduce you to his/her dearest family members and friends (who held up onto one another and built their homes together) then on your way back out of US you would be escorted properly with tons of great wishes and gifts so you come back again or even better welcome them the same way when they come in your country. Today? An average individual particularly from the poorer parts of the US would either shoot you with a cheap overused 9mm pistol, beat the shit out of you for tresspassing what fed already took away from him/her, curse you in his/her own "imported" language or god knows what. The 40% are still good though, and I am proud to know, work and be a valuable friend with those few who still hold their true American pride, culture and goodwill for others. I've seen it all with my own eyes as well, as designer I sometimes (Though not often, it's still expensive) travel to San Francisco, Bay Area to attend design events to learn something new about design trends, so I get a chance to know and see things 1st hand. About, "fear of the new". In US you can see whites marrying blacks and having kids, mixeds marrying asiats and having kids, in Africa you can see same thing, you can also see poorest of the African region's people rapidly adopting modern technology (New water systems, super fast fiber internet to come soon, they even got their own smartphone in the making) in Asia (Indonesia and China particularly) people adopt social networks so fast that some companies can't keep up with the demand and in Japan robotics are rapidly becoming designed for both US and European markets, even in middle east, be it Afghanistan or Israel or any other, you can see people exploring the new like never before. The problem isn't inexistent fear of the new, but how to contain and control the use of the so much new rushing in. The only places where "fear of the new" is present in 21st century is central europe, balkani region in particular, some messed up places in far middle east and north western africa. Kudos to the few who aren't "afraid of the new" from there, I met few individuals here on this forum and they are cool people unlike the majority from those places ;) Of course, these are all my humble opinions and you and everyone else can keep thinking and holding onto what you think is true and best for you, just as I am doing for myself. Even though my comment is somewhat harsh (although centered on the US politics topic) I hope nobody gets insulted by it, but instead get indulged to think about real politics and share with others here :)

    Ancient Era Mod

Awesome. Looking forward to it :p Just a suggestion, you can blend both versions in one bundle, no need to create two separate mods even though setting/units are different than one another, my opinion though :) P.S. ProfTournesol gave me the link to this thread, otherwise I wouldn't have known about this cool A2 mod.

Veni Vidi Vici Mod beta 1.0

OFP is better than A2 functionality/setting-wise but outdated with graphics/sounds, so many went to play A2, after getting tired of A1 myself I joined A2 community and so on. Maybe BI makes OFP 2 someday :p Thanks for the link :)

Link(s) please? By the way, even though I'm not playing A1 and OFP anymore, great mod.
  6. That's strange, maybe they can search the game library and add it manually to their games list in Steam.

See, that's not racism actually as most see it, it's hate against other cultures. One of my 3 best friends is Jamaican, hes coal black and rastafari, yet I respect him like my brother, but even he agrees some blacks can be messed up in their heads just as I agree some whites can be as well. Saying blacks, yellows, mixed or whatever is bad in general doesn't pin-point to exact issue, that's just outright stupidity. Most use it to describe immigrants this way, but rarely who thinks about it and understands the true meaning. You have African Americans in US, there are pure Africans, in well, Africa, although rare you have European blacks (mostly immigrated but still counts) you have blacks in Asia. All of them share skin color - black. BUT, they are not same at all, their cultures, religions and thus behaviors are completely different. The same goes for US as West VS Russia as East. We're all mostly white, mostly Christian yet why is there such a conflict going on after WW2 ended between us? It's the culture. In US, immigrants bring new cultures, new cultures endanger the American Dream and that's where things get awkward for everyone.

Either server doesn't have sufficient resources or your CPU can't handle your internet connection (if it's fast) if your connection is low then you will get lags from that. Online and Offline gameplays have HUGE difference regardless of your system specs. What kind of internet connection do you have, dial up, 3G modem, adsl, cable, or fiber?

Extreme "Sports", do you do them, like them?

Who cares if they are sweaty and touching eachother. Boxing is same thing or even worse, yet it's popular. The "sport" is kinda cool as they are beating sh*t out of eachother with those sticks/spoons over a tiny ball for everyones amusement. You'll care about the sweaty touching thing only if you are gay.

Extreme "Sports", do you do them, like them?

Awesome, those are some long tours, must be lots of fun :) About downhill ride with luggage. I once ended up crashing in a fence with minor injuries because my front brakes cut off (they burned off, almost putting my tires on fire) even though I was braking periodically, later on I got different type of brakes installed on the bike I had, but still, it's never a good idea to have luggage on your back while going downhill over 30 KMH, that's dangerous... Interesting. Thanks for the vid, it's certainly more interesting than NFL (at least to me) Hurling looks like US Football and Hockey had a baby LOL
  13. You have to opt-in in beta channel to be able to use beta patches from steam even though default beta patch was already installed from your library. To opt-in/opt-out you go to Library>Select A2 OA Beta>Properties>Beta>From drop down menu select -test->Confirm and you will be returned to Library screen, so next time you open beta shortcut on your desktop you will get latest steam beta patch automatically installed. Default beta (296) is the one you have installed right now before you opt in.

Lol, might be odd, but try using 7zip for rar files too, you see, winrar although native for .rar files can still mess up archives...#irony
  15. The reason why I44 isn't so popular as it's expected and as it deserves to be is because everyone is all hyped up about modern military and zombie survival wars (blame it on COD and its clones) but don't you worry about it :) WW2 games are going to make a big comeback soon, or within year-two. Heard of Red Orchestra 2? Played it? Amazing game! I tried it on friends computer, impressive WW2 game, remarkably reminds off ArmA 2 in some ways. I44 is like Red Orchestra 1, Battlefield 1943 and ArmA 2, which is a great thing to be honest. When all the dayz and cod hype settles down you may expect lots of users to come and play this absolutely great mod. So carry on with your good work and don't worry about it even a bit :D P.S. I saw some Battleground servers today and yesterday :D

    MVD Mission Pack

Exactly :p That's what SWAT (Special weapons and tactics) units are all about. With proper gear, proper execution plans and information, it's a peace of cake. But try this with lack of information or training and it's guaranteed there will be casualties. That being said ArmA 2 can simulate combat but not too realistically (that's left for VBS2) and because of that I had to simplify a lot of things and add my own scenarios from ones in real life I used as inspiration. If I was going to add pure realism to the missions, MVD Barricaded Suspects would hold only 2-3 civillians, would have 1 vehicle, would be only 2-3 of them with pistols, there wouldn't be police officer casualties and no explosions, and in MVD Trapdoor there would be only one car with suspects, only one blocker, only 4 assaulters, only 2 special agents and that's it. Then, missions would be even easier to complete and not fun at all, so I had to strike some balance between simulation, gaming and education. The same thing goes for updates and upcoming missions. I will make ai a bit tougher but won't cross the line :) P.S. I was thinking about this, how about that once I add all of those missions listed and fix major bugs I actually create an ACE version (with ace weapons, medical system, and some custom interaction scripts)? Would anyone like this more than the vanilla? Of course, vanilla missions would be available as well.

It wasn't for me mate. I like the JSRS 1.5 the way it is and if you ask me, keep going this way, you guys certainly did a great job. The video is awesome, I like how scorpion sounds, oh, and all that upload is worth it as Bystrica is outright beautiful, natural colors and vegetation :p That guy at 1:31 when you missed him stared at bullet impact effect direction and was all like "wtf, what was that? Ah nevermind *keeps on shooting* *boom headhsot*" Yokhanan, thanks, I'm always around to help and share, that's what being a maven is all about ;) P.S. Zapat, as I mentioned before, don't use winrar to unpack 7z files, use 7zip, it's free. .7z and 7zip, see the connection, eh?

USA Politics Thread - *No gun debate*

They all want to live good life, who doesn't want to? I am yet to find a single person that doesn't want to live lovely life. The majority immigrants are negative examples (in eyes of people from developed nations, because those who do manage to slip in have skill and had to do something illegal which is against what many in developed countries hold as sacred) but not for those in poorer countries. Many good immigrants doesn't exist, because those are never immigrants but slaves to their countries regimes rather, which is a sad thing. I used to know few dudes from 3rd world countries who were literally forced to work for their government, one of them was a skilled soldier, another an expert in chemistry, yet another was an exceptional expert with hadrware. Some of them made it out, some I never heard off again (may god protect them, and give peace to those who fallen a prey to their countries regimes) I'm born in Kaluga city, grew up there thus my views may be different from others in US or central Europe, however, since I do work and travel on my own since 16 y old I had a chance to see the good and the bad, and even end up trapped and get out of some of it. The ideal solution is to think up something that will help both immigrants and those who don't want them in their countries. Hard to get, but possible. The few individuals who can bring a lot value to the country they immigrate to should receive extra help and get treated properly. US actually has some funding programes for such.
  19. Thanks, now I have all I need for both missions and custom classlists :) ---------- Post added at 18:09 ---------- Previous post was at 18:06 ---------- If you guys can't design some civvie vehicles, purchase them on 3D royalty free sites. They come very cheap and save huge amounts of time. That's assuming someone donated money (I would, but can't at the moment sadly) I used to purchase 3D models for my own works, nowadays I work with teams who design them.

Sorry to hear about it. Well, you understand why I left mountain biking then, though I didn't have to suffer like that (thanks god) Paintball is awesome, though not extreme, unless you use modified pball guns :D What's the hurling looking like? I'd like to see a vid lol

    A2/A2F/A2OA Tweak Guide

Surprised you don't get 60+ frames (unless vsync is on) on your system. Nice tips. I particularly liked this one: Can you clarify it a bit more, with some step-by-step instructions? I'd like to add it to server optimization section of the guide.

    J.S.R.S. 1.5

LJ, I think you can add optional comms start and end + bg noise for next patch. Actually, if you guys want I can design many types relatively quickly as I already designed a lot of them for my missions (Sweepers, MVD) from scratch (in sonar and audacity, retouch in fl) and didn't use any recordings. I also did a deeper research on those. Tonci. That one is so called Radiolla by it's street name (from Radio + Motorola) and is most common and still very much used in poorly developed countries as well as among militants in mid east. Today's military uses quick and crisp comms as technology improved. Fact: Comms used to have artificial start and end sounds, but as newer comms were developed and better microphones/filters were used, comms no longer need to use artificial in and out effects as the filter that picks sound (from both main and noise cancellation one) makes them automatically and dynamically, thus the new comms in 1.5 are realistic and up to date, I really like them, besides do you really want to bleep in middle of battlefield with enemies all around you listening? The reason why some people may dislike them because real war is not fun, thus real gadgetry is not fun either, with A2 being a game and JSRS trying to improve real combat simulation there's huge difference. The artificially made comm in and outs are still widely used among police though, except with small variations. Can't remember the name of the model, but had a chance to test a newer police radio recently (when I was working on MVD Mission pack missions) those had 2 simple sounds in comm's, a beep and a click, very fast and simple. What surpised me was the superb quality they produced, a mix between depth, bass, clarity, range and pure 4bit 10khz emulation. And yes, I'm glad 1.5 didn't use those (from the video)

USA Politics Thread - *No gun debate*

US sells weapons to Mexico (not debating guns here) for money, Mexico sees violent crimes, guerillas, drug cartels, average people from Mexico want to flee all that violence and rush to US, then US has to pay border control and on top of that deal with immigration and many other issues. It's called a slapback effect and it's real. It's not just about Mexico, the same goes for mid east, balkani's, North Africa and other regions US was peacekeeping in, all those people who are struck by conflicts run away for their bare lives, and since US welcomes immigrants more than any other, they end up there then cause trouble in none other than the US that made them flee and let them live in no other place than US itself. The sad fact is politicians in US (and worldwide) know about this, and even though some want to solve this issue the fed doesn't let them, instead more money is printed, loaned, more homes end up taken away, more people end up on streets and eventually there's more violence while those who have all the money watch and laugh. Murikha fukh yeagh! (Yep, it's the same people who made this meme that whole US shares and so loves, except it's widely shared as as Murika f**k yeah, close enough) it's also the same people who are causing all that trouble in US and who just happen to have lots of power in US politics:confused:
