Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.
ArmaIInoobATM replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Guys why are two of the nine standoffs included with my Cooler Master 430 case different? And where do they go? Thanks, please reply ASAP because I'm building the PC now. -
ARMA 2: CO (how to combine ARMA 2 into ARMA 2:OA and use together)
ArmaIInoobATM replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
I don't think I understand...basically I just need to find the ArmA 2 file and put it into the OA folder? If you buy the Anniversary Edition are OA and ArmA II automatically in one like Combined Operations? -
Hey I'm building a gaming PC on the weekend and I've bought the ArmA II X Anniversary Edition in the Steam Autumn (Fall) sales for only £24 and I'm also interested in the Army of the Czech Republic DLC. In the sales it is also reduced to just £4.79, from £7.99. So I was wondering if any owners of this expansion could give me a review/general opinion of this DLC pack, because I've watched a review on YouTube and he said it isn't great because the included maps are quite similar to Chernarus and one is just a cut-out of Takistan, so is it worth it for the extra vehicles and weapons etc? Thanks.

Thanks, feels great to know I have got everything at a good price and cheers for the good luck too =D Looking forward to being a part of the Arma community soon (as in an actual player) Again thanks to everybody who helped me with everything. -

Everything cost me £877 (including extra cheap case fan, anti-static wristbands etc) with ArmA II X Anniversary Edition (I just bought it in the Steam sales for £23.99!) by the way. I think that's a pretty good price for a quite good gaming PC, and I'm paying £500 of that. -
Yeah map editor's great. There are the Boot Camp missions too for the very basics but once you know the basic controls it's probably easier to just mess around in the editor, plus you can train in all vehicles and everything. You can then place down one or two units to attack and eventually place whole groups once you're more experienced and do whatever you want. By the way if you're interested in any of the DLC I'd like to let you know the Steam sale is now on, each one is only £4.79 - before they were £7.99.

Steam autumn/fall sale! (now on) all arma games cheap
ArmaIInoobATM posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I've just noticed the Steam Autumn sale is now on. ArmA II and ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead are £8.99 (-40% off) Combined Operations is only £23.99 - down from £40. ALL DLC packs (BAF, PMC, ACR) = £4.79 each. Arma: Cold War Assault is £2.09 and the Gold Edition is also on sale. So if you were going to buy any DLC or are new to PC gaming like me (I'm building my PC this weekend!) this is a great time to buy! Hope this announcement was helpful. -

How to change direction of objects in the editor
ArmaIInoobATM posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA : MISSIONS - Editing & Scripting
Hey I've been trying to make an uber "BattleCattle" and I'm wondering how to change the direction a concrete barrier is facing, so it can protect the side of the cow. I've tried just using shift to turn it and then use attachTo but it didn't work and I also tried 'setDir 90' in the initialization bar to see if that worked. Sorry I'm very new to the editor, I'm building a gaming PC next week (waiting for the parts to arrive) but ATM I've got an absolutely horrible laptop that can only play ArmA II at about 2FPS: with EVERY setting at VERY LOW!! Honestly it's unbelieveably bad so it's quite hard to get some training in the editor (although this stuff is easy) because it simply takes so long and is really laggy. By the way this is the stuff I did so far with it. cow name: cow folding table: fold - fold attachTo [cow, [0,1,1]]; small table: tab - tab attachTo [cow, [0,0.4,1]]; MK19 Minitripod: mk19 - mk19 attachTo [cow, [0,1,2]]; concrete barrier: b - b attachTo [cow, [0,-0.5,1]]; -

Sorry for some reason went retarded this morning, yes there should be 2.5" slots, for some reason I was thinking of the front slots for Optical Disk Drives/Floppy Disk Drives and not HDD/SSDs. By the way I'm going to get the HDD. I have considered your SSD reccommendations but I'll definitely need more space and I'd rather get more for my money right now. I can always upgrade later if I want to and they'll have gone down in price too. We will build our PC next weekend when we've ordered everything. At the moment we're just looking for the best places to buy everything. Overclockers is great (got Sleeping Dogs, Far Cry 3, Nexuiz and 20% of Medal of Honour Warfighter with the graphics card, plus £5 off gaming T-Shirts and a packet of Haribos -lol- with the order) but didn't have everything we wanted unfortunately. Thanks again for everybody who's helped so far! :) -

My case has three 5.25" slots (for ODD) and seven (5 hidden) 3.5" slots. I can't decide yet since there are conflicting opinions. -

Ok I'll see what I can afford, TBH I don't want to spend too much more than I really have to though now. A 120GB SSD is £75 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/OCZ-AGT3-25SAT3-120G-Agility-120GB-SATA/dp/B004Z0S6SO/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1353016275&sr=1-1) For the same price I can get this HDD: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-255-SE&tool=3 -

Oh right of course that makes sense now. I feel like a right idiot, bit annoying I've got to get a HDD too but not that bad since I can afford £900 for the whole thing. It's just the agonising wait for the rest of the components now. I ordered the case, keyboard + speakers and graphics card and they arrived today but they're just sitting there and I can't do anything wtih them. :( -

No...some people said I didn't need a HDD or SSD. I suppose I do need one though for all the memory I will need. Am I right in thinking they're quite cheap though (HDDs)? ---------- Post added at 08:06 ---------- Previous post was at 07:51 ---------- The GA-Z77X-D3H motherboard has a Windows 32-bit operating system limitation :( So I need the 32-bit version and I was told if you use a 32 bit it halves your RAM Quote from eBuyer: "Due to Windows 32-bit operating system limitation, when more than 4 GB of physical memory is installed, the actual memory size displayed will be less than 4 GB." -
You need Operation Arrowhead to play Arma 2 Reinforcements.

Thanks. The Hyper 212 Evo fan I want to get is said to be large, but it's okay because I can return the case if it doesn't fit. I'm ordering some stuff tonight, hopefully will get the PC built on the weekend. Thank you very much for the help you've all given me. :D Can't wait! :yay: -
Just a short thread, I'll be getting ArmA II: Combined Operations as well as the British Armed Forces DLC soon. Will be making some missions introducing the British forces to Chernarus as they reinforce US Navy troops in the region. Obviously since I'm new it'll take a while for me to get good at making missions, maybe I won't be, but I'm going to try and make a collection of engaging, immersive and fun Campaign and Multiplayer missions for you to download.

ArmaIInoobATM replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Hey so I'm almost ready to buy my computer parts but there's one thing I need clarifying: So my dads mate tried to build a computer but he said he accidentally bought a part (IDK which) that had say, 405 Pins or something, but the one he got had a different number and wasn't compatible. I already know your Mobo needs to match the CPU (so Intel Core i5 3570K needs a Z77 mobo/chipset) but are there any other compatability issues I need to worry about? I don't want to buy the wrong parts. I mean, I know that the CPU, GPU, MOBO, PSU everything is compatible but are there then basically different versions of the same thing...it's hard to explain, sorry. I'm sorry about this but this should be the very last question I have to ask and I really appreciate all the help. I've learnt a lot recently but obviously I'm still a noob and I need some more experienced and knowledgeable people to help me out. My dad knows much less than me as I've been the one researching what to buy. (BTW TBH I'm only 15, b-day today actually, so yeah...) Thanks again you guys are really helpful. :D -

IDK TBH but it might be your processor that isn't good enough, I've seen they're [stores] still selling it for £130-£150 but it just doesn't seem like the right kind of one compared to my recent research, everyone has i7 or i5 processors...don't take my word for it I'm new to PC gaming anyway. Just a thought because your graphics card and 4GB of RAM should be fine. -
ARMA2 free trial..need access code
ArmaIInoobATM replied to daniel125's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
If you've downloaded it from Steam there should be a pop-up in the bottom right corner when you start the game. It tells you the code you need to enter. -
Hey I'm new to ArmA II and PC gaming in general. I've been watching some videos using attachTo and just wondering, is anybody interested in these anymore? Once I've got my gaming PC built (will take about a month though *verysadface*) I'd like to make a mission like that (I'd like to make serious missions too) since there are so many possibilities. For example, Battle Cattle, flying cars etc.

Is it worth buying full version?
ArmaIInoobATM replied to ArmaIInoobATM's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
What about the ArmA II X: Anniversary Edition? Because Combined Operations is £25 but the Anniversary Edition includes British Armed Forces and Private Military Company. They're £7.99 each on Steam (so I'll say £16) Plus the maps, soundtracks etc and the original Arma (I thought the original Arma was Operation Flashpoint?) Gold Edition. All for £40. I don't really care about the PMC DLC, soundtracks or original Arma that much though. What's Army of the Czech Republic like anyway? Thanks again.
