    Minihattan Island - A3

    I like the idea you have gone for an URBAN map, there are not that many around for Arma 3 atm. But I do think you could still do with some variation in the map regarding the buildings. Doing a map based on Manhatten is a great idea but like I've said earlier in the thread about the Skyscrapers, there is toooo much of the same glass type and the structures are pretty much the same too. do you have plans to update with different structual types or would you be best trying it out in another map if you planned to do one. One thing I liked about Modern Warfare 2 was the large Urban landscape of the everyday suburban town, with picket fenced gardens and residential estates, right through to the shopping areas etc. I can see where you are going with minihatten I'm not disregarding your reason for doing it because this is something no one has tried or released for Arma yet, but having it vary in a way that you have different suburbs etc might be something worth looking at or considering. cheers Spook

    Lol! He said he was gunna keep all to himself and not let anyone play the most long awaited, most detailed, anticipated map for a3 to date! Just wait for **** sakes. You should know by now not to push a modder and ask when a map is ready. You can always read back a page and see he has offered it to the many dribbling folk here for closed testing. Sign up and you'll get to test it out with him and his GU.

    just looked at the pics on the first page! nice job! what would make it look cooler is if you had a rifle harness to go with it. Even if it was on all the rifles, then you wouldn't have it looking like it was glued on your back and you could have it slide down your side as you go for your sidearm. I've never really been that fond of the look when a rifle is passed over the shoulder like Arma does.

  10. this is a good thread! is there a way to have multiple keys for acre anyway. I use joysticks when flying and I hate the fact I have to let go of the controls to press caps lock. I have two buttons for TS. which is great. one on the side of my mouse and the thumb button on the side of the main JS. What I would like is to have Caps lock for when I use the keys and assign another button on one of the JS's for when I fly.

    yeah I agree I know of someone who has forked out a tonne of cash to upgrade his machine and he still has issues due to the optimization of it. I'm happy so far, I don't really see that much into the optimization aspect of the game, I just set the settings suitable for a comfortable FPS, draw distance and texture quality.

    You gotta admit there is nothing more majestic in the battlefield than a huge column of smoke from bomb dropped at 10000ft. @Optical: is there a way to increase the smoke columns to how they are in that video I posted at all. I know they are JDAM's, I'm not sure what the equivalent is in A3.

    unless you are talking about seeing it at night time? I don't know why you would want to make the smoke more subtle in the explosions. From what I've seen of the countless bombdrop videos on Youtube, the fireball is probably on 10% of the effect at the very start of the blast. Some you don't even see the fireball because of the the amount of dust and debris thrown up into the air??

  21. i'll have a look at them then. First I need to figure out where that bloody tool ends up in my pc (mikero's extractPbo). I got it last night and the bloody things installed and disappeared.

    Loving the fact that you are doing this Alduric! nice work! However, unless I have missed something in the entire thread, (which I just read nearly every post to make sure I didn't), there doesn't seem to be much in the way of BAF assets?? I noticed you worked on the L85a2, L110 and the Land rover, also the CH47 is in there, but there is not much else regarding the other assets. Also, you haven't put and Ah64 in there. I appreciate is a big job what you are undertaking and that you are working with it alongside the A3Mp. Out of curiosity can I ask any particular reason why these are not included or if they will be? cheers

    Bomb physics.

    Yeah I just admit, last night was my first time flying an f18 in a group. We scrambled the jets whilst the base was under attack. (pretty cool taking off on the runway, with grenades exploding next to me, lol!) anyway, we made a number of attack runs on the enemy and one of them was a laser guided bomb. When that got fired I had was below 600 meters, and I followed it for another two. Then broke the attack and went round again. When I followed the bomb, I had chance to think, thats a nice view, if I thought thought quick enough I would've taken a screen shot I had that much time between firing and breaking off. The bomb was waaaay to slow on the decent.
