Suppression Effect missing in ARMA3
Lucasmnunesk replied to mr_centipede's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I understand why people want a suppression system, for me i can't imagine one that would please me, the arma 2 was enough, they should add it as a module so it is optional. But harder than make it optional is making it functional, it should be subtle, and non intrusive, but how would it work around it flaws? How would it detect you're in cover, how would it work? You guys should come up with these ideas, maybe you can find something that would please those that aren't liking the idea, and it could be optional in any mission, just adding a parameter to load or don't load the supression module. -
Beta isn't actually that far away
Lucasmnunesk replied to gossamersolid's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
I know that we have to wait for a quality product, but as anxious as i'm for the full release 2 months for the beta looks like a loooong time haha! But yeah we can't rush these things -
Suppression Effect missing in ARMA3
Lucasmnunesk replied to mr_centipede's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
In my opnion its quite contrary, RO2 supression system fits RO2 very well, but i wouldn't like that on arma, the main purpose that i don't like supression effects is that it would give you feedback that you're being shot, and sometimes people don't pay attention and don't see the shot coming and a visual representation of supression would advise them, as you used RO2 as an example, sometimes someone shot close to me but i wouldn't know if it wasn't the supression coming in. -
OK .... so how do you get in and out of boats?
Lucasmnunesk replied to Mattar_Tharkari's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
Yeah, but that's the problem i don't know if the game engine could make the player unit move along with the vehicle, since that's what i've seen modder having problems with -
I agree and i think you did right by opening a ticket since it could be just a placeholder, like the 3gl firing only one round. Voted up!

I've noticed that when i zoom without aiming on sights on anything, just zoom with weapon ready, there appear a little white dot in front of the weapon. TBH it isn't annoying or anything just want to know if this just happens to me Here's the link to the picture http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=136726157 It's a blinking white dot, it only appears on first person with weapons ready.

The main problem in learning to fly on a Heli is beacause there are many options, and they would overwhelm you, but try the options you can before making investments, lots of really good players fly better on keyboar/mouse than with joysticks, and others do the other way around. ATM i don't have a joystick and don't plan to buy one and i do pretty well on M+KB but i still have lot to learn.

Lucasmnunesk replied to Mattar_Tharkari's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
But the problems involved on walking inside vehicles is because the boat would move, and the player wouldn't. At least those where the problems that arma 2 mods had, but if they can it would be cool to go to a close boat. -
I'll open a ticket for it, even if this is a minor issue. Here it is: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=6765

Probally yes, since TF2 has lots of community content and low sales and it is number is higher than other games
-
At the moment it is about 5gb, but the full release should be bigger, if i remember correctly the full release should be something like 25gb or that's the recommended specs
-
Don't worry dude, i was like that, i felt like shit on the beginning but now im way better, still have my problems but i understand what i'm doing wrong and i have more "sense" into what i should do. But i do think that the Helo flight model needs lots of tweaks, its way to hard to make a perfect landing, way harder than it was on A2, everytime i land i damage something, but thats it dude it has no secret just practice. try to make obstacles run and make imaginary objectives on the editor

Why can't I put my binoculars on my helmet during the day?
Lucasmnunesk replied to lokoroth's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
I don't think its arcadish, having the animations would be good but they don't are that important, while you're steering wheel or whatever how much time it would take take the NVG? I don't know how much effort would be needed to add this feature, but it would be just eyecandy. -
I understood DNK point, as for in helo communications, the helo shouldn't interfere since they have an inboard comm system and i don't think there is a simple way to the game simulate it. But i think that you guys are finding the gunshots and helo with realistic sound, just because the other sounds are way too low, the ambient sound could be louder, and so the gunshots. I believe the sounds will have a lot of change, those distant sounds issues are weird and the sound travel in the air isn't there too
-
Yeah, but how about not being able to talk even if i just can see the helicopter as a little dot on the horizon? The sounds aren't working as BIS intended IMO. The heli sounds just come almost as if it is standing by your side and even the Hunter motor sometimes don't make communication possible. But just for curiosity, soldiers on helicopters never communicate?

What would an insurgency in 2035 look like?
Lucasmnunesk replied to Freighttrain4's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Yeah, but the militia would try to spread the best equipments as much as possible, but i think it will have a mix of everything, civilian clothes, camo clothes, improvised camos. I'm really eager to see the full version of the game haha -
But those helicopters are wayyy too loud, can't communicate with anyone if an heli is near, and btw here the helicopter don't have any fading sound... like he getting closer, or getting far, it just starts to play almost as loud as if it was by my side, some one has this too?

As someone stated it's all about gameplay dudes, in the real life the purpose of tech is to make things easier and with the less effort possible to be the most efficient as it can, but think about it and it maybe will ruin the gameplay and challenge, i don't think the HUD display will have anything different than we have now, and i hope so. Maybe adding everything we should have in 2035 maybe will make the game way easier and if it has no challenge it has no fun, and with too many changes it maybe can make the game less immersive

SUGGESTION: Auto lower weapon when against walls
Lucasmnunesk replied to Jex's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
I understand you issue, but it would be even more frustrating if you were fighting and your weapon is autolowered, and i don't like the idea of they don't having collisions too -
We just need the ShackTac Bunnyhop, it is just a faster way of getting over obstacles, and i don't think there is a good way to implement climbing on the game at this point, but who knows? But to fix the slow steppingover this bunnyhop is perfect IMO.
-
Yeah, i was wrong about SWAT, never owned the game but played with my friends long time ago, but still i don't think there is a way implement melee combat in the game, the rifle bash is cool. Whoever wants to see the melee stealth kills should show their ideas of how to implement it instead of arguing with other why it should or not, if you have a good ideia that would really work, i think the developers would give it attention.
-
But the main purpose of the alpha is not to have fun, it is to look for bugs, and find what should be improved. You do that by playing and finding issues, and for an Alpha Arma 3 is really good. Just don't see it as a game yet and post on the feedback tracker what is frustrating you. For me its fun to find bugs and i don't get really frustrated because im not expecting a real polished game experience, and when i play online i do expect gamebreaking issues.

I don't think that there is a way to make hand-to-hand combat in this game to be fun, how would it work? QuickTime Events? And in my opnion there is no secure way to stealth kill in hand to hand or with knifes, i don't really know, but someone even with their throat cut open would still make noise don't? And hand-to-hand would be way to risky. I don't really think these things belong to arma, SWAT games where even more focused towards CQB and never needed it. But i'm always in favor to have more options, so instead of arguing if it should be implemented try to explain how it would work, one key and its done? quicktime events? are the only way i can see it working, but i wouldn't like it. I don't believe that these things are used in real, people said that knife kills are messy and noisy and it does make sense, and hand-to-hand should be even worse.

I think when you write things this way you're being pretty arrogant and elitist, yeah Arma is getting more popular, and more casual gamers are coming but why would it make the newcomers tards? and why the arma series would take the battlefield approach? It's more about Bohemia choices than anything else. I've been reading lot of threads and posts of people bashing arma3 because of the more fluid moviment since they are finding flaws now, but the main problem is that somethings in the game, like the lack of inertia or the recoil "issue" arent clear if they are intended to be that way. They should try to make a list of the features on the alpha that are placeholders or are unfinished to receive a better feedback, but the devs said that we should post feedback about everything that we don't like, even if we don't know if they are bugs/placeholders or even if we just want to suggest a change. If you're afraid that the influx of casual players and newcomers from other popular series would affect the game the better you should do is post feedback if BIS change something to please them and would be a bad thing for the game, and i don't think that they are doing it. About the multiplayer servers i don't really know, if the casual gamers would be bad for it, i couldnt buy arma2 because i didnt had a credit card and when i could arma 3 was in development so i thought i could wait for it, but as far as i know the best mp missions are usually played by a "closed" community.

Lucasmnunesk replied to EmirSc's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
