It is working as intended :), this is the way the global banlist protects your server. The player was detected using a hack by Battleye and banned by BEC on another server running a [reporter] account.

When he then joined your server, BEC on your server checked his GUID against the global banlist and banned/kicked him from your server as BEC is supposed to do.

That's exactly right. BattlEye has caught them being 'asshats' as you put it and they are banned. Only by purchasing a new game (i.e a new key) can they re-join the fight.

Does BattlEye ever mistake someone by accident for a ban when they were not hacking?

I would have to think that I would ban a random player for no reason.

It's very simple to setup and made things a lot easier to delegate responsibilities to other admins.

Quick question about global bans.

I had a player join the server for the first time. They were able to connect and logged in, their GUID showed up, and then BEC immediately global banned them and assigned them a ban ID.

Is it possible that this was in error? Or is it most likely that this person was indeed cheating / hacking?
