Ironically enough, I don't get any major FPS drops from cities or high render distance, yet my FPS drops to 10-15 when I look at water. Oh, Arma 3... -
Am I the only one having FPS drops when shooting? Whenever I shoot (especially many bullets at once), it's like my game stutters and skips a frame, making very unrealistical recoil and making my aim much harder!

Try increasing or decreasing the virtual memory limit -
The small island in Altis below the big one, is about the same size as Stratis. It's not as detailed though...

AFAIK The worst that can happen is you getting kicked. I joined a server today with the pbox and didn't get kicked. -

My FPS never went back to 1-2 again, but I still didn't explore all of Altis. Maybe you should try increasing or decreasing the virtual memory (see dev changelog). -

The antennas and power lines still have the render distance issue (they are foggy until you come really close)! Can hard drive performance or space impact LOD?

Have you ever played BF3? The sprint in BF3 is probably faster than the sprint in A3.

The normal "running" speed in A3 right now is too slow. Especially if you have little gear. I think that speed should be increased, but should also scale well (if you have heavy gear, you are slower, if you have light gear you are faster). Also the annoying breathing sounds in 1st person needs to go!

Confirmed, fixed it for me. But as said, some pictures (map preview, loading screen and etc.) will be missing. My FPS now is the same as in Stratis (with the same old 10 FPS near water problem). -

Guys, unless you have 1 FPS and glitchy textures, please don't vote "yes". Optimization and occasional FPS drops/stutters have nothing to do with this issue. -
I wasn't really expecting them to fix it in a day, but good to know they are investigating it. Hopefully fix comes this week, since school starts next week :mad:

It's a bug. Most likely something to do with 32-bit systems...

You want to tell me that none at the BIS ever played Altis on a 32-bit system? Lol.... Nah, I don't think ALL 32-bit systems suffer from this issue, but it could likely be the cause. -

Same here. This is a bug... -
Also, when I go into the editor and select "texture" view, the map takes like 6 seconds to change to texture.

Could this be hard drive issue? I have 2 hard drives and A3 is on my 2nd one. Sometimes the 2nd one seems slower cause it takes longer to show folders, but all other games on it perform relatively fine. It also has 14 GB space left so it should be enough.

Judging by the poll, it's obvious that this is not a OS issue. Could you make a poll with different graphic cards (Nvidia, ATI, low-end, high-end)?

I'm getting 1 FPS (literally) on Altis no matter what setting. Something is BROKEN here. I'm gonna try redownloading the game on my other hard disc!
