  1. Try turning your PC off and disconnecting the power cable. Also, cycle the power switch a few times while it's unplugged to completely drain all power still within the PC. This is a good way to clear your RAM.

I personally doubt this line of reasoning, but how about I unplug it and go to bed as it is almost 1:30 am for me and I have been troubleshooting this myself since yesterday.

  2. Are you sure you're entering it in correctly? Did you delete the old registry entries as well? Try restarting your PC.

Placebo confirmed I am reading it correctly and that the key is still good.

    I already tried restarting.

Which registry entries? I just now did a manual search for such things and did delete a few arma 2 entries, but still no luck.

EDIT: I also tried the installation with my anti-virus software and firewall off to no avail. Also, I am logged in with admin privileges with UAC disabled.

    EDIT2:

This is the error I have been getting.

In my frustration I was spamming the next button and found that doing so let me get to the next screen.

To reiterate, from the image above (even without entering ANYTHING for a CD key) pressing the next button would continue the install (I haven't gone any further because this is 6 ways from Sunday fishy).

I KNOW I have a good CD key and I KNOW I have gotten this thing to install before. So why is this happening?

  3. I have the retail boxed copy of Arma II Combined Operations (Arma 2 and Arma 2: OA).

I uninstalled it because I was having trouble getting a mod to connect to servers and thought a fresh install might help (uninstalled everything and deleted the Arma II folder that was left).

Now I run the setup to reinstall it and it throws me a "Wrong CD Key" error when I try to get past the screen where you enter your key.

I did some searching and saw where you could pm your CD key to Placebo to see if the CD key was legit. I sent him a PM about it (I hope that is still "the done thing").

I am running Windows 7 64bit, if that is important. For the system requirements, I meet or exceed all of the recommended requirements comfortably.
