I got an issue, and I'm hoping someone here might have gone through the same thing.
I've been playing alot of arma2 lately, well DayZ actually,
and my brother wanted to join in on the fun.
He was waiting for his PC to arrive, but he wanted to try it out. Dumb as I am, I didnt want him to play on my character.
So I set up a new steam account for him and we purchased another copy of arma2 on that account.
When he started the game up, he spawned in as he should, and was happily playing for some hours,
and when I got in to play on my character, it had been replaced by his.
That's when I found out that DayZ saves characters through the CD key.
And the CD key is stored somewhere in the registry I believe. So somehow my old CD key was replaced with the new CD key from my brothers account.
I was told that this would go away once my brother got his own computer. It did. Sorta.
It was working fine for a day, with the exception that our characters was switched. His character was saved on my PC, while my character was saved on his PC. So we had basically swapped characters.
Today, when we tried to get in, we first encountered a little glitch. When we joined a server, the person who joined last would get instantly kicked.
But when we joined different servers, we found that we were both playing the same characters. Like we were playing on the same CD key.
My brother turned his game off, because he thought it was some sort of glitch, but now when he tries to start the game up, it gives him an error saying "Bad serial given during setup"
I have tried reinstalling 3 times, but it doesnt seem to help one bit.
So I guess my question is, can you change cd keys manually on OA, or somehow delete it so it's placed back in properly after I re-installed the game?

I'm running windows 7 at the moment.
Any ideas?
