  1. He's talking about fan speed that goes to 100% if I understand right and that's not normal. Very rare that GPU fan speed is 100% unless user wants it go there.

    Im talking about both temperature and fan speed.

    At certain conditions GPU suage goes to 99% , Fan speed goes to 100% and temperature of GPU goes to 96%

    Most of the time it happens on one spot and i will try to explain what spot. Join any Wasteland server then head to the east gun shop. When you are alredy staying against the door look to right side u see there a hill, go a bit up hill and look through 12x Scope to another hill where are many trees ,just look opposite side (the left side of gun store if u are staying in front of store). Maybe it works also on other spots with many trees but did not test yet.

    BTW i did notice that if i disaable ANTIALIASING my GPU usage goes only to 92% (max 96%) in the same conditions and temperature stays under 80%


  2. then try to test your GPU with MSI Kombustor http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm it will load your gpu to 100%, and you will see, if thats armas fault, or your gpu fan or cooling system is bad.

    I dont need to test it with combuster since i have that problem only in Arma 3 and only under certain circumstances and only after last patch.

    Ne such problem in BF 3 , Crysis , Tera Online , Rift ,Star Wars etc.

    Might be some issue with your card/cooling because my 560 Ti remains 60C and fan speed is 55% when playing Arma 3. GPU usage is mostly 90%-99% when playing alone in the Stratis.

    Like i said in the begining i play also Arma 3 with 50% - 60% usage at msot time and 100% happens only when i use 12x scope and zoom on spot with many trees.


  3. There was no sush a problem before last patch, since the new patch my video card usage GOES 99%, fan speed goes to 100% and my Video card temperature goes to 95 WTF ? And it happens only when i look through 12x Scope at the spot with many trees from a big distance , the more trees the more % of usage.

  4. At LOWEST settings possible for EVERYTHING, I'm constantly jumping between 10-30 FPS. My system specs:

    - GeForce 660 with 2GB ram

    - Phenom II x4 955 overcloced at 3.7 GHz

    - 4GB system RAM

    - 1680x1050 resolution

    For comparison purposes, I can run BF3 maxed out and consistently get 60+ FPS.

    My FPS also did vary between 10 - 30 before the last patch, but since the last patch my FPS almost never goes under 20 FPS and varies between 20 - 40 FPS (No Dev aptches btw)


  5. im impressed with how you can replicate the same scenario in the middle of an online game with multiple players doing their own random things and probably different time of day, n order to test your fps properly and to draw such an objective and precise conclusions from. im facinated.

    1) I look at my FPS about every 3 - 5 minutes when i play Arma

    2) Test was done at the same servers, with the same amount of players online and at the same places looking at the same direction

    3) Yes i can not replicate the same scenario and day time, and thats why a gave you guys a RANGE OF MY FPS.And let me tell u just 1 thing, before patch i never had 35 - 40 FPS FPS at Wasteland and im sure i never had 30 FPS at Air Base before patch. There is not even test needed since i see my FPS all the time at my screen and i know its jumps range and i know that at any scenarios and at any time of day i never had 30 FPS at Air Base before the new patch.

    Please learn to read and make logical conclusions.

    just personal experience, old wasteland versions run like shit, new ones run better. patch might have had some improvement, dunno, been on the dev branch for a while now.

    I know what u talking about but it does not concern to my case since i did test just a 10 mins before new patch and 10 minutes after Patch, unless 5 -8 servers i tried did change their Wasteland missions inside those 10 minutes.


  6. The main reason for increased performance in wasteland is because the first version of the mission was a bad port, causing a lot of errors greatly reducing performance over time and eventually crashing. The newer versions cause fewer errors run better.

    And ofcourse at 25th maart right after patch all servers switched to newer version of wasteland mission ? What a coincidence ! Or maybe server admins were waiting a new patch from BIS to switch to newer Wasteland Mission ? You are genius..... NOT.

    Just a Facepalm, people please dont talk things u know nothing about.

  8. I confirm that my FPS improved in MP (did not check SP) since the last patch that was yesterday 25th (not DEV one).

    My FPS before the patch on Wasteland (No patch at all):

    Min and Max FPS i had or saw = 14 FPS - 35 FPS , In town = 14 FPS - 18 FPS (Average 16 FPS) , At Air Base = 14 FPS- 20 FPS (Average 18 FPS) , Far from town 19 FPS - 24 FPS (Average 20 FPS) , While looking at the ground being far from town= 35 FPS

    My FPS After the last patch on Wasteland (No DEV patches):

    Min and Max FPS i had or saw = 20 FPS - 55 FPS , In town = 19 FPS - 30 FPS (Average 20 FPS) , At Air Base = 20 FPS- 33 FPS (Average 24 FPS) , Far from town 21 FPS - 37 FPS (Average 26 FPS) , While looking at the ground being far from town= 55 FPS

    As you can notice the Max FPS did change more than Minimal FPS unfortunatelly thus in result jumps in FPS are huge now.Also forgot to mention that sometimes happens that FPS drops to 5 or even 0 but it is very rare and lasts about 2 - 5 secs.

    Test was done on the same Wasteland servers with the same amount of players online on the server , unfortunatelly i do not have screens since i have no desire to uninstal the game and install it again just to make screenshots before patch and most probably even if i uninstall and install Arma 3 it will install alredy with the last patch included.

    Good job BIS but it is still not enought , need at least 30 FPS in the town on the recomended rig for smooth gameplay. I know my rig is old but at least it is recomended by Devs.

    My rig:

    I7 920 2.6 GHz

    6GB of DDR 3 999 MHz (since my proc does not support more)

    GeForce 560 Ti 1GB ram (MSI one)

    No SSD


  9. Do you even know what Alpha means?

    If you dont want to support the Games Development than dont buy the Alpha. You only had to wait till the final Version is released, than you can read some reviews and buy it or not.

    Guys like you are really annoying. You totally misunderstood the sense of such an Alpha-Release.

    Yes i know what Alpha means, it means test to eliminate bugs....yes BUGS , not using more than 1 core is not bug ! Devs made it that way and it supposed to use only 1 core.

    Now conclusion:

    Alpha = a test for eliminating BUGS

    Not using multi threads = NO BUG

    BUG = its when something works not like supposed to work.

  12. i was so sure - maybe it fixed only sth. for systems like mine though. And I meant MP Performance.

    because I have now 45-70 fps whereas before I had 15-30 fps - only on MP though, and only on those low fps servers. server which had high fps now have still high but not more higher.

    Problem is that u can not enter most of servers if u update with that patch :(


  13. I feel like all the negative, pessimistic and overall "angry mob with pitchforks"-style posts are really unconstructive and are starting to drown out the ones that are actually descriptive and helpful.

    Nobody cares about how you feel about other people posts. Dont like dont read, or make your own thread, simple as that.


  14. This isn't like most games, and neither is the engine of the game. :)

    If its not like most games it should't have optics and weapons at all since other games have it alredy also it should't have vehicles and doors at all since other games have it too and Arma is not like other games right ? Oh yea Arma also should't have any soldiers but some aliens instead since other games haves soldiers too and since Arma is not like other games.

    U know i like that argument, can use it for every excuse.

    And by the way for a dumb person like you i will explain it more detailed, when someone says " something is like in most of games" does not mean that he is comparing the games but only giving an example , so dumb people like you could understand what "button action" he means.

    What i meant was, you can't just copypaste features from other engines because "most games" has it.

    In which place does OP says that he wants that option JUST BECAUSE MOST GAMES HAVE IT ? Read post better and you will see that OP is asking that option because he wants to make some in game actions faster thus NOT BECAUSE MOST GAMES HAVE IT.

    And by the way just because most of the games has some good feature does not mean Arma should never implement it even if it will improve its gameplay.

    It has to be programmed first, and someone has to do it

    Like anything else in the game


  15. Jump can be realistic if body will stay on the same height and only have impact on the legs + integrated with the fatigue/stamina feature (and ofcourse no shooting while jumping)

    The problem with bunny jump in other games occur because when soldier jump his body positioning changes and moves to higher position while in reality when a soldier (with much gear on him) jumps his body stays on the same height and only legs height changes.

    Nor body height nor run speed should be affected by jumping = no bunny jump. If someone played Americas Army should understand what i mean , just check any Amerac Army gameplay and jump on youtube to see what i mean.


  16. Started to play the multiplayer mission with my friends , most of the time its ok but sometime it begins to slideshow (no problems in single player missions tho). Turned down to just the high settings.....still slide show...turned down to low settings....slide show (usually).Only when i restart the game sldieshow dissapear. Anyone else got this problem? BTW most of the time it happens when i create the server.

  17. It is good feature when you are hiding behind something and firing, but it should not work on objects further than 10 meters, then it would be ok , otherwise crosshair jumps too early and skips too big distance on the further objects thus helping to aim = not very realistic.


  18. But u must admit guys that it will help alot for players to aim, and notice that the criosshair jumps on bigger distance than he moves barrel , i mean he jumps from A to D instead of A to B or C to D .

    With other words crosshair jumps to the target too early , before crosshairs center is even on the target. When crosshair is close to target he jumps directly on the target , it skips some distance and jumps on the target too early


  19. Just look at 01:03 , u will see that target automaticly changes position of crosshair putting it on your target. Easy mode or am'i missing something ?

    Also look at 00:55 - 00:56 (it does not auto aim that much but if u look closely u will see it)

    Also look at 00:59

    Also 01:08 - 01:11 WTF ? The crosshair jumping all the time down and up , notice that i said not moving but JUMPING

  20. You can only do that if the optic is mounted in a quick detachment style mount that holds zero even after being taken off and being put back on.

    Like so(Im not sure if this particular mount holds zero, its just an example of a QD mount)

    Does it mean that if my scope is not a quick detachment style then i cant take it off or that it takes more time to do so ?


  21. 1) Some climb possibility for soldiers would be very good in this game and ofcourse very risky if you get attacked while you climbing.

    2) Add different types of running (for example : steps, slow run, fast run) , and soldier should become tired after running depending on the type of running, for example soldier can walk nonstop without problem hald a day (thus whole mission) but he gets tired after 1 hour of nonstop slow running, after 5 minutes of medium running and after 30- 60 seconds of maximum running speed and needs some time to recover his breath and condition.

    3) When soldier is tired after running or wounded, make it so that its difficult to aim and weapon shakes much more and breath is much faster after running.
