Thanks again everybody.
I found a Youtube HowTo video and it was easy indeed. ;)
PS: Is there no 'Thank You' button in this forum?
-
You aren't missing any content, the helicopter showcase may not have been updated since the beta release. Navigate to the editor and place one down, note that it's not under the 'RAH-66' title. The helicopters are included in the mission editor, but not in the missions. The missions remain unchanged. The Comanche is under the moniker 'RAH-99 Blackfoot'.Aha that's why. :o
Thanks people!
Update:
Err... is there a guide somewhere?
I couldn't figure out how to 'insert' a Comanche or anything else in the Editor.
-
It was to my understanding that the Comanche is now included in the Beta, but once Steam updated the game from Alpha to Beta (Dev version) and I joined the Helicopters showcase I found the KA-66 only.
Am I missing something?
-
yes please!
-
Alright then. :(
-
As per title I am wondering devs if we will have a chance to test this helicopter? :D
-
Hm, for me the update was only 210,8 MB.Hmm for me Steam is saying 210.6 MB.
-
I just made a simple little Xpadder profile for thisThanks mate I just got Xpadder and now flying helicopters in the Alpha is way better (although the sensitivity of pitching is too high)!

-
Maybe it's because you are running the dev build and the red cross ones in the list are running the normal version?Exactly I didn't know that thanks! :)
-
I know the game is an Alpha yet, but I am wondering so many servers are displayed with a red cross instead of a green circle? :(
-
I can't express my opinion yet as the default Xbox 360 buttons mapping is a complete mess and I still have to find out the correct Arma 2-like setting (yes I tried the 'Arma 2' mapping profile). :(
-
Its against the Geneva convention to dress as enemy soldiers, that why it was removed.Since when people believe that a war is played by fair rules?
Lol no way, allow us please to do that!
-
Moderators should put a 'Offer me a beer' button in their signatures as it's gonna be a pain in the a** today. :p
-
Yes, you can use helicopter in the alpha version.Thank you very much indeed for confirming it!
I am gonna clean my pilot suit now!

-
Bump!
Any developer that can clear this out? :)
-
-
I apologize if this has been answered, but I will be away from my computer for a week and it's not so easy to find everything using a smartphone.
The Alpha FAQ talks about an amount of vehicles available, but it doesn't mention WHAT vehicles they will be.
Will we have helicopters in the Alpha?
And if yes which ones exactly?
-
Assuming the helo/plane you're in has Countermeasures, you just need to map one of the controller buttons to that in Controls.Alright thanks mate. :)
-
I actually am finding the 360 ctrl fair enough, I only cannot understand how to use (if I can) chaffs/flares with it.
-
Omg guys I spent my latest days at trying to pilot helis with kb+mouse, but it's definitely a no go for me. :)
I will try today and see how it works with a X360 ctrl.
Anything I should be aware before using it?
On the other hand that FreeTrack stuff looked great!
-
Before spending hundreds on TrackIR, you might want to look at FaceTrackNoIR http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/home/default.htm which is free and should work with most webcams (I use a PS3 Eye I got for £8) http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/compatibility/webcams.htm or Freetrack, which requires buying some cheap components and building a clip or hat http://www.free-track.net/english/hardware/point_model.php?PHPSESSID=560f21435fe37e34e429069e4c7d154f but will undoubtably work better in low-light or at longer distances, such as if you play on your TV from your armchair (I have trouble with FTNoIR in the evenings because I don't have suitable lighting in my room so I'm going to try Freetrack but it works fine for my Dad, as he has better lighting). Thanks mate, will definitely give a try at those solutions first!

Dorph;2205412']I use this:http://flyawaysimulation.com/news/3624/saitek-cyborg-x-flight-stick-now-available/
I have seen it can easily be broken when used at war flight.

Thanks for all your suggestions guys (and girls?), very appreciated.
I am tempted to give a try to that Thrustmaster Hotas X joystick (wth it costs me only 30 Euros on Amazon).
By the way, do you all agree that TrackIR 5 + TrackClip is a good choice? :)
I saw some videos and I regret I didn't used it in the golden days of Battlefield 3.
-
Hmmm I see... so you are saying I can continue using KB + mouse like I always did?
Alright I will keep training then 'cause moving from BF3 controls to Arma 2 is so different.
What steps do you suggest to improve my piloting skills?
I mean what helicopter should I start from?
Oh and btw I will be wearing a big 'L' label so don't shoot me down if you see me on the servers. ;)

Rudder pedals are cool, but... holy cow... € 100,00 and more is a lot of money!
