    RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)

Hello again everyone, as some of you have un-doubtedly seen on the Dev build, we are super excited to officially reveal the up Armored M1151, M1152, and M1165 for the first time! The often mis-characterized and mis-understood ECV or Enhanced Capacity Vehicles build on the lineage of a classic American military icon. We've been working for a few months now on re-creating this highly requested vehicle with a lot of cool details. Some of the stuff you can see in these photos (and things we haven't shared) includes: 3 Types of Manned Turrets - the GPK (bottom pic), a first for RHS and introduced on the M1151, The O-GPK (top pic), used on a lot of our vehicles already, and the MCTAGS, for our USMC versions (not shown) The M151 Common Remote Operated Weapon Station (CROWS) with M2 and Mk 19 GMG A few cool realistic accessories: The Rhino Counter IED device (the black "flag" on front), the AN/VLQ-12 CREW Duke (the thick antenna on the rear and flat one on the front)- an electronic counter-measures system designed to counter remote controlled IEDs (C-RCIED), as well as a protective front bumper, combat identification panels (CIP)- the brown thing on the front and some sides, as well as the Deep Water Fording Kit (DWF Kit), primarily for the USMC versions. In time as we continue to do fixes and inject more variants, we'll release a lot more in depth info prior to the release. However, I still want to recognize the super hard work of @reyhard (as always), @gurdy , @ballistic09 and da12thmonkey. Thanks everyone, and I look forward to sending some more pics down range once we get more variants cooking.

Sorry I did not know I had an account on that email lol! But yeah, stay tuned, although those variants are not in the works for now.

Hello everyone, thought I would share some of the really cool stuff that the team has been working on. A kind addon maker "pioneer" donated a few models. You may have seen the pontoon bridge section in the last update, but we didn't really mention it. That's because there's a lot more to this that we didn't have setup. Developer @reyhard has been super hard at work on adding all the stuff necessary for this system. The first is the might KrAZ 255 truck, what comes in several versions. The primary versions necessary for briding are the pontoon carrier and boat carrier. The KrAZ 255 also has "normal" cargo versions. Speaking of boats, BMK-T is now added. The primary purpose of this is boat to position each bridge section into place. The Russian Army Engineer Corps' primary mission is to allow the combat arms to fight, maneuver, and survive, while denying the same to the enemy. Bridging allows the force battlefield mobility through obstacle/gap crossing.

Such a radical idea? I don't know if a man.. could even consider it. Never before has such a radical, absolutely earth shattering idea been brought before these very internet forums. That is akin, in my humble opinion, to Galileo arguing that the earth did in fact, rotate around the sun, and not the other way around. It is akin to Martin Luther, posting his 95 theses, beginning the protestant reformation. To the fall of the Roman state in 476AD, or the invention of the printing press by Johan Gutenburg in the winter of 1450. Or to the revelations of the Watergate scandal ending the Nixon presidency, one of the most dramatic revelations of Cold War politics. But the Abrams, the concept seems concrete. Yet, the idea of fusing an interior (a known concept) with the Abrams (another known concept), such a combination I certainly cannot grasp. I just don't know how RHS, a group of mere mortals could consider a topic so complex. I think Stephen Hawking said this about String Theory: So, with all that being said, I wish to inform you starlord, that I have, in fact pranked you. We actually, believe it or not HAVE considered it! But we never did it because until recently Arma 3 didn't have a good way to replicate view ports (episcopes). You could use Picture in Picture (PiP), but it would be very laggy. There's a new way now, so it could happen in the future. But armored fighting vehicle interiors are super complex, and the Abrams has a ton of variants. All the way from the earliest M1A1 to the current SEP series, the interior does change. Things were added like the CROWS system (SEP v2), CITV (M1A2), and all these have new controls and items. So, the workload to do it is absolutely enormous. It could happen in the future, but we have no plans. As a rule of thumb, "do you know about x" or "have you considered y". We do know about it, we have considered it. I don't think there's a single piece of major US Kit we don't know about at this point. In future please do not ask if we have considered extremely obvious things. We certainly have, it's more about how many people can work on it, or if everyone's doing other projects. Ok, tongue and cheek response over. I swear I've answered this question so many times I feel like a broken record, so I thought I'd make a more creative response 🙂

Everyone, we are excited to release 0.5.2, a collection of fixes largely for the content in our last release, as well as a few cool new features. Alex, the RHS Project Leader said the following: Change logs may be found here: http://www.rhsmods.org/mod/1 http://www.rhsmods.org/mod/2 http://www.rhsmods.org/mod/3 http://www.rhsmods.org/mod/4 Some of the fixes/improvements include: Working mine flag dispensers for the M1132, Desert camo for all new stryker variants, and more! We also have a release video. We made it before some of these fixes/features were added, so please take a look at the changelogs. Also, since it was added after the video, here's @reyhard showing the mine flag dispenser in a test, super cool stuff. Thanks everyone!

Pretty sure it just clears the temp cache for the builder. Just a funny name, nothing too cool.

Basically, as you may be able to tell, these 3 just have a few parts deleted. They are still, by large the same exact shape as the M1126. The MGS, Ambulance and Mortar Carrier all change the hull shape drastically. Basically the hull past the driver's compartment would need to be deleted and re-done, making the project a LOT more time consuming. All of these actually don't change the overall shape very much. Even the M1134, just adds a bunch of stuff on top, basically.

I thought I'd share all the WIPs of these last 3 Strykers. I take an absolute ton of screenshots of WIP for dev purposes, but to this point we've never shared them. The order is kind of reversed lol, it starts with the model basically being done in Susbtance painter. But it gives you a sense of how these are made, especially how we integrate a new stryker part onto the original hull. Enjoy! https://imgur.com/gallery/hqzzcO0

Cheers mate! We decided to do as many variants where we don't need to basically re-model the whole thing. Of these, just the M1131 Fire Support Vehicle and M1130 Command Post are left, but lower priority. The ambulance, mortar carrier, and Mobile Gun System require extensive re-work and are basically a whole new vehicle from the driver's cupola back. So one day, but will take a long time those ones.

Everyone, on behalf of the whole team, we are super excited to officially release 0.5.1! Here is what Alex Vorobiev, the leader of the RHS Project has said about the release today: The full change-logs can be found at http://www.rhsmods.org/mod/1 http://www.rhsmods.org/mod/2 http://www.rhsmods.org/mod/3 http://www.rhsmods.org/mod/4 But in short, there's 3 new Stryker Versions. The M1132 Engineer Squad Vehicle (ESV) is designed to transport an Engineer Squad, and has an optional Surface Mine Plow (SMP) used for route clearance. It also has a lane marker system, currently only for show and non-functional. It transports the regular 9 soldiers. The M1134 Anti-Tank Guided Missile Carrier (ATGM) is the one I am super excited about. It has a crew of 4, like a Main Battle Tank. It fires 2 TOW Missiles, and carries a total of 12 rounds of ammunition. It has a full interior and detailed gunners controls, thanks in large part to Reyhard. The last is the M1127 Reconnaissance Vehicle (RV). This variant trades its M151 Common Remote Operated Weapon Station (CROWS) for a flex-mount M2 and LRAS 3 (Long Range Advanced Scout Surveillance System). This long range optic allows the gunner to mark targets and gain their Grid reference. We have also added a Mk. 19 equipped M1126. We also now have the "classic" M14 service rifle, thanks to Wint3r, in a ton of variants. Finally, a lot of USAF MRAPs now have a much more advanced night driving assistance screen known as the Driver Vision Enhancer (DVE). We have also improved the M-ATV a lot, with more to come on that. We will also transfer the tech into some other vehicles later. Finally, Reyhard especially put in about 1 billion (technical term) fixes into all factions. Enjoy everyone!

Thanks for the kind words. AFAIK, the CROWS display only shows the gun's relative position to the front of the vehicle, so I don't think it shows the bearing anywhere on the screen. However, if someone can find a reference, we can probably put it in.

If I had a dollar for this question.. but I'll restate the answer because perhaps we haven't addressed it recently. The current HMMWV in game cannot support the up armored turrets full stop. Also, the up-armor package is much more than the turret, it encompasses changes to the entire vehicle, including suspension, chassis, the body, interior, etc. The up-armored series began officially with the M1114 (and other earlier kits), but you don't see those anymore. The in service armored HMMWVs are the M1151 / M1152 / M1165 (and others). Those are basically an entirely new model, almost nothing can be re-used. So, it is not as simple as just putting on the armored turrets.

    RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)

Not really. The SOCOM Rifleman is basically a placeholder class so that something can crew the vehicles. There's really nothing to make a team, except MARSOC which is doing alright.

Thanks for the kind words everyone with regards to the M-ATV, I will relay them to Gurdy, who did a crap ton of modelling on it as well, basically the entire Med Poly with a few changes. We'll do some kind of official teaser once I add the other variant this weekend. Cheers!

Alright, a little update about a feature request someone asked for a really long time ago. In our first release of the old FMTVs, they had overhead protection fitted. When we injected the new model, we got rid of that. Now, I am happy to announce a lot of the US MRAPs and trucks will get some new customization options for the Objective Gunner Protection Kit (O-GPK) turrets. Here you can see the features demonstrated on the RG-33L 6X6 (M1232) MRAP. There are 2 customization options: the Overhead protection kit, which is functional, and a turret bustle, which is cosmetic. Both can be enabled independently. This will be available on the following vehicles: M1232/M1237 MRAP (RG-33L 6X6) M1220/M1230 MRAP (Caiman) M1078A1P2-B/M1083A1P2-B/M1084A1P2-B (Armored FMTV with turret) M977A4-B (Armored HEMTT with turret) We've also added a few other customization options to existing MRAPs, such as hiding the Rhino Counter-IED system. Enjoy!

Haha good catch, did those LODs pretty quickly. I added some chassis geo into the farthest LODs, so that is now fixed.

Some photos of the last RG-33 deriviative vehicle we have planned to produce, the (now say it along with me kids!) M1238A1 RG-33 Special Operations Command Armored Security Vehicle (M1238A1 ASV). This is a 4 wheel drive, 4 or 5 passenger MRAP. Standard equipment is the M2 machine gun fitted to the M153 Common Remote Operated Weapons System (CROWS). Ours is also optionally fitted with a Rhino Counter IED system and a few other accessories. Woodland and desert will be available, and once we've finished a few small animation tweaks, I should be able to show some photos of both the M1239 SOCOM AUV and M1238A1 SOCOM ASV together. Enjoy!
