Agree on the performance requirements for CTI, however we've been "doing" the CTI thing for years now and have gotten quite good at it. IMO, we have the best CTI mission to date, no one can touch us on the amount of "things" our mission can do. All you old OFP players need to come out of your hiding holes and join OFPS CTI to see how far we've come!

Favourite/Least Favourite Aspects of Warfare/CTI?
spanishsurfer replied to gossamersolid's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
So I'm late to the party on this post but I feel like many of the "CONS" some of you have addressed are in fact being worked on in the OFPS community who runs BECTI. I've played CTI since it's inception in 2001-02 and have watched the game mode flourish from the abomination that it first was to the monster it's become today. The 2 biggest problems with the mission to me are this, the length of matches and the constant attacks on bases. To fix this, we're currently in the process of switching the emphasis from base attacks to town captures. We don't want to remove the ability to attack an enemy base as many folks love doing that, but we have made it a hell of a lot harder for 1 lone wolf to wreck another teams base (autonomous defenses like a CRAM, custom compositions w/AT-AA turrets on top of towers, etc). We also want to introduce timers and economic victories. After X hours, the round ends and the team with the most town value wins; simple. The other is economic victory. When a team captures 50-60% of a maps available town supply, that team wins. To really push players back to the towns (besides the $ incentive) we want to have notifications that remind a team on their progress towards an economic victory and when they're about 5-10% from achieving that victory the opposing team will receive a notification on how close to winning their enemy is. We're hoping this system draws most players out of the mindset of constantly attacking each others bases (which is also a lot of fun) and more towards battling out in towns. Also, regarding town warfare (since I read some of your gripes on that). -When a town is captured there is a 10 min "Peace Time" which prevents the opposing team from taking the town -Towns can only be capped by taking all the surrounding "camps" -Camps act as spawn points by which ever team has taken it. -You can purchase low tech gear, vehicles, infantry from the town center if you occupy the town and own all the camps (if the enemy takes just 1 camp you can't purchase anything from the town center) -Teams can HALO jump into a town being taken by an opposing team to defend it (if you have the upgrade and an air fact at base and if you're thinking about spam spawning, the HALO jump has a timer) The above is just a taste at the level of detail we go into CTI. We are constantly editing/fixing stuff with the mission but IMO, we currently have the best CTI mission ever made, with more content than any other mode I've seen (RHS gear, CUP assets, all vanilla stuff, fast roping mods, jump/climbing scripts, etc, etc, etc). TLDR, CTI is alive and well and it's in it's best form it's ever been. The OFPS CTI mission is the game mode by CTI players for CTI players! **Hit me up on our discord if you'd like to join the dev team or just want to play. -
Question about a certain type of gameplay
spanishsurfer replied to Dost Thou Even Joust's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
EUTW has a great game mode however they are not a true CTI. You need to find the OFPS community/server (see my info below) to witness how much more CTI has become in A3. -
Have you ever played BECTI? That's exactly what that mission does. Server always has people, allows base building, and the mission is to capture towns or destroy the enemy base.

Iron Front in Arm3 LITE - preview versions
spanishsurfer replied to .kju's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I did make an alpha i44 CTI however there just wasn't enough assets to have a full CTI. I'm balancing out our current mission but once that's done maybe I'll implement i44 again @ ofps. -
Just wanted you all to know that we recently changed server locations. Server moved from West to East coast to better accommodate our European players. Hardware was also beefed up and now we're seeing VERY smooth server FPS and ULTRA low pings on most players. Highly recommend to check it out, it's been very awesome.
-
We have this, I made it years ago and now our BECTI mission can flip this on via parameters. It's called guerrilla mode.
-
No, we moved it to a private gitlab. We actually paid Benny to come back and help us recode a lot of the current mission. If you want to help just join our discord and have a chat with us.

Anyone on here interested in helping out OFPS w/BECTI updates? We've got more than we can keep up with more problems than people who can help. We're using Discord for comms and Gitlab for tracking, it's the best BECTI dev team I've ever seen and I believe with more help we can really push this mission out to the mainstream; just need more help. Anyone interested?

How does this game mode work with Zeus? What is the role of Zeus in CTI? Is it anything like BECTI?

Yeah, too many to list. I'll enable 1 at a time and see which one's the culprit. -
Zombies & Demons 5.0
spanishsurfer replied to ryandombrowsky's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Working on a SP mission using your mod. Question on the Zombies, they're not reacting to gun fire, only line of sight. Any ideas why I'm having this issue? -
MI-48 and Commanche have no warning of incoming AA Missile
spanishsurfer posted a topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Anyone else noticing that helis are not announcing a warning of an incoming missile? I have no tone and I have no warning on the radar. This was confirmed with TITAN AA and RPG AA at MI48 and Blackfoot (Comanche) on several different CTI servers. Also, I am unable to change the countermeasure type from burst...There should be a single/burst option and I heard someone mention an auto function as well, but none of it is cycling for me. Anyone noticing this? VOTE Here: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=10399 -
Jets - Sensor overhaul (Radars, IRs, Lazors, PGMs)
spanishsurfer replied to oukej's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
Request BIS adjust laser targeting lock on with GBUs and other ordnance. Currently I can only lock onto lazed targets when laser is in visual range, so if view distance is 4000m I dont get a lock until 4km. I would like to see the ability to acquire the laze past visual range, way farther. This way dropping GBUS can be done at safer altitudes and distances which are only limited by the momentum of the bomb.- 954 replies

You guys with PERF issues, are you clearing out your launcher? Remove those parameters. -
RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)
spanishsurfer replied to soul_assassin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Apologies if this has been brought up, but is it known that the Apache AI gunner is aiming about 10-50m off station from target? Also, when I tell him to use the laser, and then have him fire the laser guided HELLFIRE II the hits are all off target. It makes the apache combat ineffective when using AI. Any ticket in to fix this?- 16550 replies

It's just not a priority for us, we focus on multiplayer.

We recently integrated RHS into BECTI. Our server allows all of those mods plus more, we set it up so that they can be turned on/off with parameters in the lobby. Works pretty well.

Lol, what!? -
It's funny you ask Benny to come back, he's been helping OFPS with the mission we run. To the guy who said BECTI is dead in Europe, you can def play on our server just fine. If that's not good enough for you, then I def recommend Jammy's Warfare, or the Russian BECTI server both great CTI servers within your reach. You guys sound like you haven't even tried playing CTI on our server or the other guys, too bad for you!
