It would be hard to implement the AI flying those monsters maybe..
-
yea they have problem with close objects.. aymbe one could give them the knowledge there is sth.. i dont know, or give them the command to scan west
-
yeah totally right ;) And the "little" island is of course Big big big...I think your common BF3 player gets lost while trying to run to the nearest flag :)
-
looks already really polished and final!! Wow.. Just love how impressed the crowd was too :)

may I recommend my post also: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?134250-Operation-E3&p=2166501&viewfull=1#post2166501 I am waiting for sth. like this since the very first OFP game.. @neokika: Maybe it costs really more performance... Then why not make a little blurry effect, nothing special.. And it is not as costly as all those bushes, only if behind all those bushes were players sitting, but this aint the case... So there must be another reason.. When there is no player behind a bush, no transparency has to be rendered.. invalid argument..
-
instead of drawing bushes.. the effect of bushes is that it hides stuff. AN object is not seen but the bush or map - texture is seen. Instead of rendering bushes at far distance why not just use the position of a bush: When a player crouches near a bush, the sniper cant see the bush itself (but the effect it has) the players body parts covered by the bush are maybe a little bit more transparent to blend in better with the map and so are hidden. The function of the bush remains (you can hide) but the vga has not to draw the bushes itself. This idea spooks in my head since the very first Operation Flashpoint. I dont see why this aint possible though?! Instead of making a soldiers body parts transparent there could also be used some kind of blurry effect on all body parts that are some way hidden or inrterfering with bushes or grass or sth.

Is anyone using nVidia Inspector v1.9.5.2?
tremanarch replied to mcarma's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
So is there an actual well known good setting for the Inspector? I am just fiddling around with this - maybe the pro's in this thread can give me their settings? -
Or can we make a Ramdrive? ;) for 8 GB additional RAM is cheaper than a ssd, and faster... yes and great work. really well done! Maybe ArmA III will be the breakthrough for BIS. All those players tired by the too much casual Games they once loved, now maybe recognize ArmA!

have the same prob... setting to default just made the time longer till it reappeared.
-
thx I already watched :)) but cant get enough... need moar I must say I really love the setting, the sun, thw wind breezing through the bushes and the awesome awesome sea!!! oh my god I love the sea.. and the underwater scnes. At first I thought about the underwater stuff that its nice, but only a gimmick.. but now I am just thinking about a whole underwater night alien deep sea mod ^^ just kidding, but it totally gets me in the mood!!! Jules verne anyone? Captain unidentified Object of Alien origin! http://venturebeat.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/arma3_e3_20122.jpg ;))) or maybe sth. else.. such a great engine! I am really looking forward to hop into the little submarine.. how does it work anyway? does it have a watergate? is it dry or wet inside? warm or cold?

Arma 3: Community wishes & ideas- NO DISCUSSION
tremanarch replied to Maio's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
maybe they can improve the rainy weather a bit. Stormy days, wind, bending trees, thunder.. that could use some love. In ArmA 2 rain sometimes dissappeared. -
Anyone else wondering what machine they are using to run all these gameplay videos?
