  8. I prepared a video to show you what a compressor does. Its exactly what you guys are wanting - not knowing something like that exists. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLuLanLoHlg 1st: till 1:06 original 2nd: compressed the video example took me 1 minute, without having any control of the original sound files. It could be a lot better. Its Just to prove that thats what you want. Its also cranked up a bit too much - you even hear my keyboard typing noise in the end when throwing grenades and the GPU vent. For me personally, I dont like such overcompressed stuff... I have to do with this on a daily basis.. and its not just simply "louder" - to be exact - both examples (1 minute each) have the same maximum volume peak at 0 db - thats the loudest. the RMS (average value) is of course in the second one higher.. you may have heard about the loudness war - or not, its this same tool - mechanic to achieve this "effect". People know this from battlefield and they think its "real"... you could think of a compressor like a little man thats constanly turning the volume slider so all the qietz passages are higher in volume (in fact in reality its the other way round all loud peaks get quiet and the final material gets louder - but its for understanding only) here is a stereo hardware compressor if you cant live without compressed sounds: http://www.thomann.de/gb/alesis_3632_compressor.htm if you need 6 channels then you need a bigegr or more compressors though... you could also buy a "soundcard" that has compression and other stuff already integrated: http://www.thomann.de/gb/rme_babyface_blue.htm I know its not helpful, but maybe you know a guy that has struff like that so, in the end you had your own little compression device.. its possible. I at least dont want to be forced to have those overcompressed sounds like in Battlefield.. its stressful and one gets tired quicker. you could even route your audio signal into a free DAW SW like Reaper and compress it there and route it into your speakers afterwards... its not as complicated as it may sound PUN not intended.

    Yeah It seems I have the same Errors, but the files seems different. I dont know exactly which files are making the probs though.. So it wont work If i delte the addons folder and let steam redownload it?

    I get this constantly on our Clan server. But its strange that I get it in the evenings when only a few ppl are on and mostly squad people, when its actually fun to play. in the morning when the server is nearly full with randoms that teamkill and explode stuff, I can join super easy and it works for hours. What is this?!?! I did not mod anything into the addons folder, I chcked the ArmA Installation through steam several times. I checked my Network Connection which sometimes has 60 ms ping and packet loss here and there and sometimes has 25 ms ping and no jitter at all.. its always the same. when its getting fun, I get kicked, when it doesnt matter: works super... ?! is there a method to check with a super detailes hash check my installation files? STeam seems to think its fine, I suspect there must be errors in the files all over the place.. but they only come out at night.. no I am baffled, cant think of a solution / problem.
  15. yeah and sometimes the lags are so hard that it crashes the whole client. It increases the longer you play -at start its often quite fast and only short amounts aof lag here and there,

    What is the disadvantage to suppressors?

    Advantages-reduce hearing loss when shooting, helps conceal location of the shooter, reduces recoil. Disadvantages-added cost, added weight, barrel can heat up faster during rapid fire, if mounted out of alignment with the bore can damage the rifle and injure the shooter, changes point of impact of the rifle. Gas operated rifles like the AR-15 spit out more gas and unburnt powder from the ejection port when equipped with a silencer. A silencer will not reduce velocity of the bullet unless the barrel is ported to relieve gas pressure into the back of the silencer, or the silencer is equipped with rubber wipes that trap the gunpowder gas and touch the bullets as they pass through. Most modern silencers are made with metal baffles that divert the flow of the gunpowder gases and reduce the noise. The baffles do not contact the bullet or upset it's flight path. Some silencers actually provide a very slight boost in velocity. Silencers work best on firearms with subsonic ammo. But they also work well with full power ammo such as the 7.62 nato. A good silencer will lower muzzle blast noise by 20-30 decibels (100-1000 times) but the rifle may still be loud enough to cause some hearing lose. basically its to protect forces from earloss and to maintain communication.
