that makes sense. BUt I havent sth. against a placeholder - like implementation. The function itself is needed badly. It gives "positions" more stability. and makes twowers a deadly spot, and a precious place to conquer! it will change the whole battlefield. -

not that other games do it better: http://imageshack.us/f/690/l9612x10mil.jpg/, http://imageshack.us/f/221/l9612x34milsbackvehicle.jpg/ they just hide it better: http://www.pcgames.de/screenshots/original/2011/09/battlefield_3_caspian_border_beta_high_027.jpg landscape textures have characteristics.. not just a repeated tile objects could be more transparent - not so much contrast: http://img.dayzdb.com/img/screenshots/full/223.png . people would scratch their heads if they knew how much of a difference this makes just a quick edit of the dayz screenshot to match the BF3 transparency (only 5-10 % - it makes a big difference): http://abload.de/img/transparency70sor.png transparency is the most basic trick to blend stuff into each other without great effort. and it works in my eyes. and some dust clouds here and there, and cloud shadows do the rest or giving the static map some movement so soldiers wont stick out so much.

the problem are the single bullets you shoot and others shoot. they must get registered. and maybe with big desync we have several parralel universes :)

just make a big persistent mission on altis - where you can "rank up" doing duties and where random stuff is happening. (same as dayz - just without zombies and ranking.) only question would be: coop, or team-cti style.. or sth. in between. maybe with possibilities of altering the land (building barricades etc. as long as its persistent it feels "mmo'ish"

Multiplayer definitely needs streamlining of some form

It usually takes 30 minutes - 1 hour till I find a stable, working, no Hacker, nice people, online game server till I can play. I know that its beta, and I like that there are so many modded servers and so much different stuff. I know that Bohemia gives us the tools and we make what we can from it. But sometimes, just sometimes from time to time, my inner me just wants to hop mindlessly onto some unspecial server doing a quick or not so quick little match - DM or COOP or CTI doesnt really matter that much - anything. As I know that the game is only beta / alpha and that ArmA now usually is more about testing stuff etc - I must say that I had this kind of problems also in ArmA 2 - its not only a beta problem at all. common Solutions are: - join a clan / group and and play on their server. - rent your own server - dont play Multiplayer - invent a rock solid super stable mechanism that lets me join any server loads up stuff it needs on the fly - super fast - does anything humanly possible so I just be able to join and play on a server (NASA & Alien technique needed) ;) but what if Bohemia just sets up one or two little MP Server? Or better gives some basic RoE - as with a basic MP mode, and servers that use these unmodded server missions can have a small icon in their name. SO when I am feeling hungry for a little MP fight, I just search for these standardized servers in the browser? -- I am usually the resilient type of guy and will continue playing - cause I love sandbox more, than I hate to invest so much time when sometimes I dont wanna. But your typical BF- COD player will leave the game for a long time or forever if he cant get this quick type of fix from it - even if the game has the most realistic setting, and open big world. What I am gonna say is: why dont please the casual crowd a little bit and in order to meet them set up sth. above. sometimes i cant see the multiplayer server list. PwS says the game is running, i can close / minimize / thrid option inside pwS it, but it wont let me check servers again. i can switch the different arma games though. need to restart PwS in order to be able to see the server list again. -

maybe we also need some more 3d objects (rocks, clutter, stuff) at +200m. or the grass could go to +350m and blend out into transparency smoothly? dunno if we can change this.. -
Very High and Ultra Texture Options missing in Arma 3 Beta

i guess even if you selected very high it couldnt use it, cause the low vram. I also have a 560ti and at first i could select ultras but 3 weeks into alpha it was gone. i have only 1 gig vram so im fine, cause using too much textures was bad on my performance. do you know if ultra / v. high does use better textures or just farer away better textures? i guess in close it doesnt matter right? -
one problem is also the strange behaviour when being close to them. Why do they go prone and turn around so slowly? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekRI_XOTmSw or why dont they switch to pistol either (could have quicker turn speed with pistols also)

more ambient sounds: near coast more seagulls less crickets near forest more birds less crickets near town more stuff (typical city sounds: something falling down, maybe a cat or dog in the far, stuff like that) and less crickets near a valley more wind sounds maybe eagle and less crickets near water stream sounds when river and and pretty loud shore / coast sounds when near sea and less crickets near some grassy landscape / some agricultural fields you can go all crazy with crickets ;) -- you know where this is going ;) maybe the ambient sounds could be blended in each other when roaming - and not stop<->play -

arma 3 crashes from time to time, showing the windows crash message. Is there a way of opening Crash logs etc? I want to find out why the game crashes - i have an idea though (networking verify - cause it doesnt crash in SP) but I wanna know for sure. edit: pls close i guess its here: C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Arma 3

dont like the "short-delay-effect" at: 3:01-3:03 (gun fire sounds triggered shortly after each other. same sound file results is flanger-like "effect" rest is very good!

there should be a blur filter for the outside scene of the scope. only the scope should be sharp. or just automatically unzoom when head is moved too far to the sides.. -
Will there be a more 'crap internet connection' friendly signature check in the future? I am getting kicked after like ~20-40 Seconds. I have not a good internet connection (~5-10 % Package loss) I cant change it. Or can servers maybe have an exclude players list? so that only me doesnt need to be checked but everyone else? This way I could at least play on servers run by friends.

http://abload.de/img/unbenanntlvs59.jpg the desy<nc from time to time isnt bad. but getting kicked every 10-20 minutes is. A little desync doesnt throw you out, just sit a minute wait till its over. a kick throws you out the game. loadout is gone. your comrades are alone, you have to reconnect time, etc etc unplayable. drive / fly to where you were before - most of the time its impossible. its unplayable.

? both eyes get nearly the same image I think. what you mean by physically separated? interpolation could be a method, but it would be more clever and easy to use polarized light to separate two pictures in one. you only need some pvc glass to see them both then..
