A slight update...
Last week I cleaned up all the mods of our server and re-installed only the ones we are using currently and since then this particular RPT error has not shown up. I have read somewhere else that it is related to ACE being installed over-itself... So I might be wrong and it is not related to the Units website not working after 6pm (which it still isn't)..
-
Doesn't work after 6pm and has been like that for about 6 weeks... Appears the Units site is in lockdown with the rest of us too...
-
Thanks for your reply, I've tried it on both 1 and 0 for KickOnSlowNetwork but makes no difference. Since this problem started 6 weeks ago when Units stopped working and the fact it appears to be a 20 to 30 second wait white joining which matches the time-out received while waiting for the Units site to respond and the RPT error matches this timescale, I am fairly sure this is the problem, just wish BIS would fix the problem with Units so i could test.
BIS, if you are reading this... Units website works fine during the day but once 6pm comes around, accessing the website and thus the Units information takes forever and a day. If you visit the website after 6pm, it can take about 2 mins for each page to appear and the Arma launcher and thus Arma itself, times out after 30 seconds... I'm not sure if this is a local internet problem but it has been 6 weeks like this and to be fair, getting a little annoying...

Hi all,
This past 6 weeks we are getting a constant error on our server RPT files as follows:
BEServer::finishDestroyPlayer(1718871237): users.get failed
Obviously the player ID is changing all the time but I am getting several 1000 of the same error over about 20 seconds. Now this problem started at the exact same time as the Arma Units site stopped working correctly (about 6 weeks ago), so I have no idea if that is the reason as I also notice that connecting to the server takes about 20 seconds, which is the same length of time as the error reporting.
Has anyone else been getting this and is there a solution to this error?

Rules: Have fun, respect each other, no racists comments but most of all, no snowflakes allowed -
Units hasn't worked in Steam or from in-game for about 4 weeks now, just times out. Also the website is painfully slow with each page taking about two minutes to load. Can only assume issue with the server or the Internet for the server.

Hi,
Forgive me for not reading through this entire topic but I was wondering if there was a fix to stop the in-game VON radio from being disabled by the person doing the reviving?
It is a pain especially if you are the SL not being able to use the radio when healing someone, all previous versions were fine.

[RIP] Rusty In Places is a multi-national, multi-gaming, competitive clan. With the event of our 6 Year Anniversary we have surpassed the lifespan of many other clans. A great number of our members have come into RIP due to the demise of their gaming associations, regrettable in itself, however they have come looking for the stability and camaraderie that exists in RIP.
The Clan was formed in December 2006, and was founded by a group of 12 friends, mainly European, with all the skillsets required to get great servers up and running quickly. The public engaged in the servers, and enjoying the way that they were run and administered quickly began putting in application posts in our forums..
Currently the majority of our servers are running a variant of ArmA 2, ArmA 3, Call Of Duty4/5, Project Reality, or Battlefield 3. Our Arma Platoon is currently growing in numbers as more players are finding our tactical squad work way of playing and enjoyable experience. We now have a dedicated Arma 3 server running 24/7 and while pre-release this is limited we are already creating custom missions and porting our custom scripts over to the new platform.
The Clan is always willing to accept new members aged 18 or over. We have an entire section, namely the ITG (Initial Training Group), who will deal with any applications and be a point of reference for anyone wishing to join the clan. Whether it is your first foray into Internet Gaming or whether you are a hardened elitist, RIP can offer you everything that you will ever need in a Clan. The people are welcoming and friendly, the forums are jovial and lively, the advice that can be given on software / hardware issues is second to none, and Friday nights, should you be of that persuasion, offer some of the best comedy gaming nights you could ever hope for, washed down with whatever your particular poison is. There are internal competitions, based within certain games, though aside from the main format of game play, in the form of Fight Club. We are active in external Leagues, such as ClanBase and TWL, and offer regular competition slots for those wishing to participate. We have elite competition teams, whose sole purpose is to increase the skill sets of the players and work within tight knit squads. We have an Academy section, where you can learn new and advanced skills in your chosen game from any one of a number of experts.
Above all we have secured a place in this digital age where like minded people get together and have fun. The camaraderie and friendship is what makes RIP one of the best places to be for a total gaming experience. We will continue to grow, due to the structure we have and the democracy that exists. Once you join RIP very few people don’t enjoy their time.
If you feel that your current home or lack of one is driving you to despair, contact any one of the Command Staff, by visiting the Roster and dropping them a PM.
We can perhaps give you what you want and what you need to enjoy your gaming experience to the full.
Through the hard work and dedication of its members RIP has grown into what it has today. People have given up their own spare time, gaming time, to continue to build this great clan of friends. We would like to extend our thanks to all that have participated in this growth, with some special mentions going out to the members we have lost through unconnected issues, you know who you are.
* to be a full member of [RIP] you must be aged 18 and over, no upper limit
Interested ArmA 3 players are invited to visit the servers (filter [RIP] ) and experience for yourself the well run, well admined servers.
Also visit www.rustyinplaces.org and have a look around the forums and say hi in the public section.

It's been a while since Alan's original post, so I thought I would bring the info up to date a little more...
Now in our 6th year, [RIP] Rusty In Places still very much play Arma 2 with our own dedicated server. We mainly play COOP in a very tactical squad/platoon based manner but do on occasions play TvT too. We also have a new Arma 3 private server, which will remain private until the correct admin tools become available. We also play a lot of inter-community games with others such as Tour, TG and a few others, these organised events are usually for 50+ players and happen usually once a month or every other month and are great fun to be apart of.
The multi-gaming clan is now over 18's and not 21 as Alan mentioned above but we still charge a monthly subscription of £5 GBP to cover the cost of servers. However, the first month is FREE if you just want to check us out before committing.
If you are interested in a EU based Arma clan who play tactical COOP on custom made missions, then please come join our server - best night to join is Sunday, if passworded then come on our TS3 and ask for the password. Details are:

Hi all,
I have a question regarding the use of CBA on a vanilla server...
The server in question is pure vanilla (no mods). However, we would like to allow JSRS sound mod and as far as I am aware, as this is a client side mod all we would require is the bikey for CBA_CO & JSRS on the server in order for this to work. My question is could this cause any issues with mission scripts if players were joining some with and some without CBA?
I only ask as I have been told if there is a mix of players with and without CBA on the same server then certain scripts within mission could break or cause errors, can anyone confirm this?
-
When this happens...
1. Press L.Shift and Numpad "-" together then type "FLUSH" - this will clear your card memory.
2. No need to reboot PC to get our of this, just CTRL+ALT+DEL - select "Task Manager", then select Arma 2 and click "End Process", this will close down arma.
Would also help if you posted up your full in-game graphic settings including advanced - as this is most likely the problem.
-
When you say you have turned ACRE off, do you mean just the TS3 plugin or launching the game in pure vanilla (no mods)?
-
Is it disc or download version of game?
-
You are missing the core Arma2 files, you have Arrowhead but not A2 - check to ensure these files are actually installed including the arma2.exe in the directory root. If they are present then it looks like your reg might be messed up. Also, if they are present launch via the arma2.exe to see if Arma2 will actually launch...
Also - are you disc or steam?
-
Have you checked your keybinds to see if anything has changed...?
-
The best way to reduce FPS drop in Arma 2 is install a SSD drive, before I got mine I would be getting about 20fps in towns, after I am now getting 40fps plus (btw - any thing over 40fps in Arma is awesome). A 120 Gb SSD are now only 60notes with 64Gb ones about 30notes... You have to remember that all those textures are being constantly streamed from your hard drive and it's this that can cause low fps. To be honest 27fps isn't that bad, remember that animated cartoons are only 24fps.
-
Then do it in sections, transfer 4Gb and then the other 5Gb...

I had exactly the same issue with my new rig 6 months ago, I installed A2 with no issues, then when trying to install OA, it would fail when trying to patch A2 with the same errors. Nothing I tried worked except installing the game only on my new rig (to get reg entry), then installing the game and patches on another PC and copied the full files across (copied entire A2 directory). After which the game would work fine and also managed to patch to 1.62 when this came out a few months ago.
This issues totally frustrated me for about 4 days while trying to find answers and get the patch to install, but as I said like you - nothing would work except what I said above... Good luck
-
I was getting the same issue when I had a 295GTX+, constant minimising and FLUSH wasn't working. After weeks of changing settings and playing about with the graphics driver control panel nothing was working. Arma 2 was the only game I was having issues with and nothing appeared to solve this issue. I then bought a new card (a 650Ti) and all the problems went away, it turned out the 295 card was overheating (was an average of 70'C using CPUID to monitor) and the memory was failing on the card. Using the CPUID monitor on my new card, average temps during gameplay are 40'C. I'm not saying this is the same issue but the 200 series cards do run very hot and Arma 2 appears to push them to the limits and if not above them, so I would suggest installing CPUID and watch your temps during game-play and especially when the minimising happens. Hope this helps...
