  3. Thanks Thomas but i already have the current release of Asr_AI for arma 3(you can get it from Robalos web page), i am actually asking permission to port Group link 4 over, as it also has some neat AI effects, and visual effects.. I just want to try man :)

  5. Arise Dead Horse .... ARISE..... I am doing this because I want attention.... well not really, However, I would like to port this to Arma 3. I have sent a PM to the author, and Ask any Co-authors of this mod to speak up!!! Your read me states clearly not to use or modify this code with out permissions.. I would very kindly like to get permission to port this wonderful mod to Arma 3. I have no intentions on taking any credit, as this is Not my work!! I just really would like to see this move forward!! I can honestly say that "IF" we can get permission to do this, I would only really be able to copy and paste the new textures and models into their respected scripted spaces. Outside of that I would need help from the scripting gurus to get the commands up to Arma 3 specs.. Thats it really ... Can we please has Group Link 4 in Arma 3?!?!?

    I am just glad that Smookie is a DEV, and actually works on the game. I know at some point ill be able to press my turbo key( #4 mouse button ) and press A,D, or S, and be able to blind fire around a corner or over my head... Considering the vault was already in there, not much more to say then thanks to DA for the discovery and script to create a nice little vault, And wait for Smookie's works.... And why do people bring up Lean in a discussion about blind fire.. please exit stage left.. If your Leaning enough to expose your barrel to shoot, AND you have your face behind the sights .... Your Head Is Exposed.. I would rather get my fingers shot at/off them my head..

    Wonderfully stated, Sneakson!! All to often people focus on just one aspect of the arma series possible gameplay. Large military organization's are represented in arma, however, so are the small rebel forces, the private military companies(mercs). It always amuses me when someone says this or that shouldn't be done because the US military doesn't do it , or because the British don't do it, or because they are under the pretense that the game is designed strictly around those factions... They are not the only faction in the game.. They are not GOING to be the only forces in the game.. The arma community seems too finicky and nit-picky when these arguments crop up.. Some people want ARMA to be about strict, regimental organizations. When in fact the world is filled with other factions that operate completely autonomous and often exclude the ideals of the next group.. I have sat in large clans Teamspeaks rooms, and heard arguments that ARMA is not a GAME, it is a Simulator, or, its a SandBox, blah blah blah. Either way the idea behind the Whole Arma series has been to create your own battle.. Why limit other players gameplay because, you dont want it there.. Guerilla factions use Guerilla tactics.. and Guerilla factions are in Arma.. Hmmm, considering this, and that Arma has three factions Bluefor, Opfor, and Indi.. why not include anim's and actions that these very different factions might undertake?? On another note, I watched a video of the invasion of bagdad.. Where two marines were killed by their own.. The shooters in both situations had a CLEAR LINE OF SIGHT... but they still were shot and killed by fellow marines. And your worried about blind fire. It is a sad and all to common story in real life, it will always be a problem. these type of posts never cease to amaze me, out of everything he said this is all you heard.. "a soldier in full gear can jump"?? It depends on how much training he has done with gear, and how strong his legs are.. Remember everyones different! His point was that these "soldiers" train in that gear, they build muscle to move this gear... Not some untrained , nonathletic civilian just throwing on a bag and trying to jump over crap. Hence why in game, if you are a CIVI, and you try to carry a load of gear you tire much quicker then a military unit..Solution: Why we all dawn a load of backpacking gear, or what have you and go and record ourselves and post back how high we can jump with 100lbs of gear??.. Sound reasonable..

    i like how you call everyone stupid that thinks jumping is a valid action... "jumping gets a bad name because everyone with an iq over room temperature knows it's a pointless waste of resources to implement. " nice one there.. so anyone that thinks jumping is usefull has a low IQ.. Hmmmm.. I especially like how you compare jumping and climbing and say there the same and accomplish the same thing.(but some how you talk about others having a low IQ). how sow? you cant jump up a ladder .. you have to climb it.. You can't just jump up a wall, however, you can jump up to get a grip on the top, and climb over it.. a step over is slow and unrealistic if you were under fire.. Are you going to stop and slow step over a short obstacle that you cant go around... or are you going to take a running start and hop/vault over it as to reduce the possibility of BEING SHOT.. I guess that concept must be lost on use people with IQ lower then room temp... Especially the fact if I don't have to expose my body to bullets and stay in cover, I am not going to.. and I will blind fire if i think it will accomplish my goal of killing an enemy i know is right around a corner or otherwise behind cover that i can reach around and shoot at them... again with out exposing my body And I also like how some random British unit is quoted as "discouraging" blind fire.. and suddenly its a military LAW, that All Armies Follow, and do now allow their subordinates to blind fire.. hilarious.. to say the least. Your argument Seamus Is weak .. Please just stop posting.. As every time you do you lower IQ of the forums collectivly!! And since i know its a real tactic i am going to go and scearch the web for photos or video of its use.. and i have already found one in a 5 second search http://in.5thvillage.com/p/257987738148349608_8848912/ its not completely a blind fire but you as you can see US marines do it in war...but then again according to you he just has a really low IQ..

    this is a military combat SIMULATOR, so i argue, why not SIMULATE the things that people can do, and DO in real life... They have guns (modern) that literally bend around corners.. why not apply blind fire in a game that is once again simulating a warzone... In arma 2 i used SMK alot just for the blind fire.. because its a real tactic....!! link to a short video of a bending gun... so if not blind fire.. bending guns.. they are both real tactics/tactical weapons..... i mean there are 3 shot gernade launchers .. in the game , why not blind fire... "blind sniping"?? really where do you guys come up with this stuff.. if your blind firing and happen to hit an enemy, and they get mad about it .. maybe they shouldn't play a combat simulator..... in summation................. LUVIES!
  11. I noticed that UO locked their repository, any news on a release date?? Many of my clan members have this installed but for some reason it is telling them ACRE is not connected to TS. even though everything has been installed correctly.

    is it possible to script in a check to see if the user of the gun is Prone, then lower the bipods and reduce recoil even more? Only in regular prone.. none of the adjusted prone stances.

    my $0.02, When i sprint. I stride.. There is a large space in between steps.. In arma 2 when you sprint.. you stride.. your character looks like he is sprinting at full speed.. In arma 3 however, sprint is not a sprint... its a horse trot. Actually take the time to look and compare the two.. The sprint in Arma 3 is very restricted.. you take short steps , quickly .. It is a Very Unrealistic Sprint!!!.... You should have long strides , and look as if your actually sprinting... the current speeds and animations for sprint suck IMHO. Arma 3 needs a real sprint not small quick steps, but long leg strides (what a sprint actually is)... EDITED DAY'S LATER: I want to say that when I posted this I was vauge, I really am only talking about the Animations. the Speed is fine!!! Just the stiff and ridged, anims while sprinting.. And I agree there should be a difference in speed when your gear'd up or not. The lighter you are the more fluid and flighty your sprint should be, the more gear the more clunky and arduous the sprint should be...

  16. Hey Das, Thanks for this again, I jump and vault over short obstacles in real life I was glad to see that they added a similar vault/ jump in to the game. As for functionality I believe this mod does well. I am suprised at these Ney-sayers, they must not have legs or know how to use them. Or maybe they are just bitching to hear them selves bitch(i do that sometimes).. I am expecially amused, at the fact that they all come across as though they haven't even downloaded the mod and used it them selves they are just going on the video.. Lets have a little Q and A(this is directed at everyone that says this mod is stupid or unrealistic) 1. have you downloaded and tried the mod yourself before you started crying? 2. can you not jump in real life? do you not have legs? are you handicapped(if so i apologize if i seem insensitive to your plight) 3. this is a mil-sandbox/simulator what is unrealistic about jumping... you do know that people can jump right? Even with weight, someone with strong legs can vault over short objects!! and on a side note as someone that has actually downloaded the mod and used it before stating my opinions.............. I do not get the same type of floating jump when I use this mod .. its very fluid and well, NICE. Although I am always fully gear'd out when I use the vault, and I have never played around with dropping all my gear and vaulting around. From these experiences, I can only assume that FEINT had tweeked the mod a little, just for FUN.. Fruther more.. Is anyone familiar with Parkor? People do this.. It is a part of real life.. People can JUMP... why not have it in a game that is suppose to simulate what we can do.... I thank you again for this mod!! It is VERY useful!!
  17. Hello all, I have been noticing that with this script, not all players see the same weather. I cannot count the number of times I called out a target and someone said how do you see threw this fog, or someone simply stating that there is some horrible weather, and for me its really calm.. Anyone else notice that not everyone in the same mission gets the same weather? If you have noticed it and fixed it, How? Anyone have any ideas?

    :) yea, i had tried that before, didnt work as your are suggesting, as soon as your hit .. you get the message no lives left.. because you died. and used the one life.. thanks again though for the revive. its not like i dont use it, just wondering if it could be done, by amending your revive.

    i guess this is OT but ... how is a 3G round even realistic?? can someone explain the logic behind it? you load a gernade, you pull the trigger and you use the primer.... how does this have the ability to launch another round. after the primer and powder have been exhausted.?? all the UGL's in the game have ONE sleeve.. how does this work.. with three rounds.... Please explain i am dumbfounded... bad post scimming habbit's die hard

    well, i never mentioned score. Just death count.. in relation to the fact that in your revive script you Died.. but can be revived... in ACE for arma 2 you get put into an unconcious state.. but you dont die... until you bleed out, that is when you get a death count +1...... if i am using a revive script the whole point is to give players the ability to get someone up BEFORE they die.... see what im saying.. nothing at all do to with score... simply death... lets say someone makes a mission where revive is possible.. but if anyone actually dies.. the mission is a Failure.. your revive script would not work.. and your going to argue .. Why use a revive script then... well your team is attacked .. your loose most of your men.. or you even go down, yourself.. HOWEVER, there is someone maybe two people up... they have "X" amount of time to secure the area and apply first aid before you ACTUALLY die... if anyone dies the missions is failed ... its really fun when you have the prospect of saving your whole team after surviving an ambush and taking out the enemy.... and not technically dieing.. about the Ragdoll... I may be mistaken.. However, again, when you eject out of a moving vehicle.. you go into ragdoll.. but you dont die.... if your hit by a vehicle you ragdoll (depending on the severity of the hit you dont die...) I may not know how to do it, but from the given examples i know that ragdoll is possible with out having to Die.. Thats all i ment .. if you think its a pain or a joke of an idea, well All i wanted to do was ask if it was doable. If not by you, in your revive script, ill just have to wait till they port ACE2 over to ARMA 3. Thanks again for at least entertaining the idea. :)

    yea thats the one... and sometimes BIforums search function hates us.. I can use an exact word i know is in a title i am looking for and it will not find it... glad you were able to! be advised since BIS is working on the weather right now some of that script doesnt work.. I know for a fact that the rain has been disabled. but outside of that it works well

    hello =BTC=, I have a feature request, that I feel is rather important... to start with an example I will give ACE poor mans revive.. With that you can set how long it will take for you to bleed out.. essentially extending your life.. You can be revive and you dont have a death cound of +1.. My request is this: Please make =BTC= revive similar in the sense that when you get shot and need a revive.. You dont DIE.. currently when your put into a "revive" state. You get a Death count... since it has been done in Arma 2 I can only ASSUME(yes i said assume) that it should be possible in Arma 3.. Is that a possibility with you script.. maybe a check that looks for a playable unit with .99999 damage and initates (allowDamage false)? I don't know Im just throwing an idea out Either way if it is possible it would be GREATLY appreciated!!
