Check what Arma 2 has setup in the registry. I installed the sprocket version on a 2008 r2 server and arma 2 does not correctly set the registry location of itself. This would not allow us to install Arrowhead or any patches/DLC. Maybe the DVD has the same bug on 2008 r2. WARNING....seek help if you do not know what you are looking at in the registry as things can go horribly wrong. What is the correct location in the registry for Arma 2 on Windows Server 2008 R2? I'm having problems installing the latest Beta patch. My install is a copy from my main PC, so no registry files were installed. Can you help by telling me what I need in the registry, and what location for 2008 r2?
Thanks!

Honestly there are lots of good mission makers out there who make great missions for SP, but SP and MP scripting is a whole different world for the most part. Most of these people also have their own projects to focus on. I'd say it is much more viable if you get one of your guys in the unit to learn MP scripting / mission making, it's not very hard to learn. Just an idea though.Sounds like a full time job. The OP does not realize I think how much time mission making/scripting is, not only that , he also would like to have good thought out story-lines with the missions (every week). The 'top' mission maker he is looking for will not ask 10 dollars for many hours work no doubt :)I actually had a reply almost straight away from a great MOD/Script editor and reputable member on here - 1500+ posts. He is willing to help out each week!
This is a great community here, as is the whole of Arma generally.
Oh and none of the guys in my unit are much good at editing at the moment, so i had to try and find someone here. Glad I did! :)

Hey guys,
Need some advice because i have no clue! Would this server from Hetzner (in germany) be good enough for running an Arma 2 server? If so, how many slots/how many seperate servers (if possible)?
Its an Intel i7 975
3x HDD 1,5 TB SATA
6x RAM 2048 MB DDR3-1066
Connected at 100 MBit
5,000 GB/month traffic (says 420 Gbit Bandwidth also??)
Anyway here is a link which might help... http://www.hetzner.de/en/hosting/produkte_rootserver/serverboerse
Thanks in advance!

Top Mission Maker WANTED - Editing/Scripting missions for my Unit
I'd like to find an amazing mission maker. I just don't have the time to do it myself. Plus I'm really bad at it anyway!
What I want is to be able to give our mission maker, my/the units ideas for a mission, and he goes off and makes missions for us. Simple!
If someone would like to offer their services for free, then that would be very good of you! Alternatively, we can come to an agreement in private (forum rules).
Below are the qualities im after. I'm looking for someone that can manage all my units missions/training maps each week.
They must be knowledgable in all areas of the mission editor
Must be good at scripting
Must be available to make missions each week
Must be reliable
Can edit missions on any of the maps our unit use. May need to download Mods/addons.
Can write missions briefings and try to come up with a realistic story line based on our unit. (Not mandatory)
I look forward to hearing from those interested. You can either contact me here or on our forums (link in sig), to discuss matters further.
Thanks.

Alright guys,
Just getting back into PC gaming, and bought myself a Laptop and getting Arma X tomorrow.
A little info about me -
I'm 26, living in Japan and the UK. I work in Japan, so I'm there often. I used to be in the British Army as an Observation Post Assistant in the Royal Artillery. Looking for a mature, tactical team to fight with. Been playing the PS3 a lot, but want to get back into PC gaming. I'm pretty good at most Shooters, and obviously with my Army background I can follow tactics and orders fine!
Name: James / Jay
Age: 26
Location: UK & Japan
Microphone & teamspeak: Yes with Astro A40 Headset
User name: None yet...
Roles preferred: Any role, but i prefer Sniping and observing the enemy. Calling out targets and air stikes was my job! (But I'll let you know for sure once I've played a few games! lol)
Experience: No Arma experience, but used to play OFP Cold War online back in the day, A LOT! and more recently been playing OFP DR & Red River on PS3.

in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Posted · Edited by Jamzyb
Hey guys,
I have just got a dedicated server and am trying to install Arma 2 + OA.
What I did was take my original Arma 2 discs and convert them to .ios files. Then I copied them over to my server via FTP. I mounted Arma 2 to a virtual drive and installed, entering my CD Key. That installed fine, along with Battleye.
Then I did the same with Arma 2 OA and after extracting, i just get 'Arma 2 has stopped working' the reason for error is pasted below...
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: Setup.exe_ArmA2
Application Version: 2.0.2.0
Application Timestamp: 00000000
Fault Module Name: Setup.exe
Fault Module Version: 2.0.2.0
Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000
Exception Code: c000001d
Exception Offset: 004a5dfd
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.272.7
Locale ID: 1033
Hope someone can help me with this!
I was thinking it was something to do with the registry, but I dont know much! haha! What is the correct locations in the registry for the keys on Windows 2008 R2?
I also want to be able to install the latest beta patch, but without the correct registry entries it wont let me. I tried looking at the Wiki and searching Google but cannot find anything suitable.
Thanks in advance for your help!
