The ultimate thread about Arma 3 anti-cheat discussion
radar_owns replied to nuxil's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
the issue I have with this is the lower download speeds from steam. Updates would takes ages as steam tends to run (at least in my sense) at less the half the capable speed it can when updating with frequent breaks in connection. Battleye is a very unresponsive system at times and needs to be replaced so I guess steam is the lesser of two evils in this case. -
There are some great ideas but personally a great deal of things could be fixed with AI improvements. Personally being able to have a larger squad for each player may help a lot. 12 people really doesn't get you far in the large scale maps (don't even get me started on the amount of rpg soldiers that seem to exist). Having more people to control with a higher level of AI would allow more enjoyment for a player and more fun to play

IF any of you have read any Matthew Reilly there is an idea in one of his novels for a robot with the capability of sensing friendly and enemy forces which can supply arms and carry essentials right to the front. This could be something to explore but would be complex to impliment

I think it fails due to the AI limits. Personally fighting over that large of a map with in many cases 12 people per human player can become annoying. When you are facing 30 or more independent troops it becomes boring after a while. If there was say 25 to 30 per player with a enhanced ability to control them then the game would be less restrictive. This would of course make people think more and bring in the real RTS strategies the game was designed for rather then lets take a whole town with light vehicles against anti tank troops which always ends up happening.

Playing all the previous ArmA games in order. That may sound like I have no life but it is well worth doing. There are some nice quirks from each game that I hope they can carry on into ArmA 3. Although congratulations to anyone who can get through the Resistance campaign of OP: Flashpoint (ArmA: Cold War Crisis) without a incident of rage quit.

Having the hard copy of ArmA X collection already its a big toss up for me between Digital Deluxe and Supporter packages. I really don't know if the steam version would be worth it.

ArmA II / OA Installation problems
radar_owns replied to ShadeCrenshaw's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
it turns out that the OA auto patches ArmA II so while reinstalling OA it patched up to 1.09 automatically which is great. So if any other person has this problem with the ArmA X pack they should just uninstall both and reinstall in the original version and then install OA which will patch it to 1.09 and it should all be good Thank you for your help i appreciate it tom3kb -
ArmA II / OA Installation problems
radar_owns replied to ShadeCrenshaw's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
i'm having a problem with installation. I recently bought the ArmA X Anniversary pack. I already had ArmA II standalone with update 1.10 installed. During instillation of the OA disc an error popped up saying that this is incompatible with the software as it is version 1.09. It still installed but every time I attempt to open it it refuses to even fully load. Is there anyway I can fix this?
