Froggy - You are 100% right. @card - I play (and help dev) the Flashpoint missions ALL THE TIME, so I know all about those. :) @Ring - I'll have to look into that, never heard of it. I assume it's like Flashpoint, but those are still fun! :)

Mission Request - A handful (at least 3 - 5?) of Littlebird missions where the player plays as the pilot, and must drop, and pickup in hot LZs, or tricky LZs. Like this :3 PS: Not me trying to promote myself, but I really just want to practice more, and I suck at practicing, because I always find an LZ that I know I can make. I want LZs that are totally unexpected. Where I am orbiting, and suddenly there is a smoke grenade ready for pickup, and I have to make my own approach. Either way, hopefully someone can get this! :) EDIT - Actually, like... all helicopter missions are accepted. ;) Also, yes, I have seen the one you are about to paste a link to.

Hey guys, made a video... please read below BEFORE watching. Note from the Director - Hey guys. First off, I hope you enjoy it. I just want to point out, for sake of criticism, this is my first video with 100% effort. Not the promo videos where I just film a battlefield. I actually went through the process of learning to script (animations at least) and really put my best foot forward. That being said, there are OBVIOUSLY better videos out there, so please understand that this is my first try. Hey all- So I feel like it's just me, but I really dislike the way JSRS depicts the M4 and M16 sounds. They sound kinda... lame. I think they need more crack when you fire, so I experimented with Elias Sound Mod. REALLY liked the M4/M16 sounds from there, but I also realized that JSRS has a huge advantage in a few departments. Such as explosions, sonic cracks, and echos. In general, with JSRS, you know you're being shot at. So here is my question. Is there a way I can make the M4/M16 sound cooler, without sacrificing the effects of the battlefield that JSRS provides? I sure hope so, because I just dont really like the softness of the M4/M16 anymore :(

I highly doubt you are going to care about my answers since you have had so many already, but as a player of Operation Flashpoint, way back when, I feel I need to help people who are coming in to such a great set of games. So here are my two cents. 1. Should I get the free version of Arma II, the O.A. expansion, or Combined Operations? Where's the action at? If you are still on the edge on if you really want ArmA or not, or don't know if your computer can handle it (Very high demanding game). PLEASE get the FREE version. It will save you the headache, and get you used to the game to see if you are interested. After that, you can make an educated decision. If you decide to buy it, the only thing you should be getting is ArmA II - Combined Operations. It's what anyone, and everyone uses, esp. if you are going to want to be playing MP. 2. Is the multiplayer scene lively? Yes, and no. I know this is quite a different answer than the ones above (I think, didn't read them all). The MP scene is lively if you want to get involved with a group. If you are looking for 2 hours of shoot em up, and then you leave to come back again, it's not as likely you will be very happy with the MP. I personally logged most of my hours playing a ton of single player since the start of the genre (OFP) and once I was able to fight real hard AI, I moved into trying to find a good group of guys that would accept me, and we all ran missions together. I have finally settled down with one, but still log most of my hours on Singleplayer with all the user created missions, it's hard to not spend more time there... 3. What's the best way of getting into Arma II and learning the ropes? Buy it, and spam the Singleplayer. You cant learn any other way. People who say "Jump onto multiplayer" are giving you a one way ticket to manual hair removal via the fist. You will seriously throw your keyboard out a window if you try to learn with a PvP environment. Players are skilled in MP, and this game has a big learning curve depending on what type of games you have played in the past. 4. How are online matches organized, how easy are they to join? (Are they PvP or is AI involved?) Both, depends on the server. Some do Co-Op vs AI, some do PvP... really depends. There are a good mix of both tho. 5. Do online matches usually require Teamspeak, and are the good ones held privately? Teamspeak is required for a good clan/squad. There is a mod called ACRE, that simulates radio communication, and speaking to eachother in game. However, you can only hear eachother within a certain distance, which makes it really realistic. That stuff, requires Teamspeak. If you're looking for the get in, play, get out, and find another game another day... you wont need that, you will mostly use in game chat then. 6. I want to train to be an excellent insurgent sniper, I could start out as a spotter. Is this a reasonable goal/occupation? Why not? Always good to set goals! :) 7. What's the Arma hub? The best place to meet/interact with other players? This forum for chatting and getting help, and Armaholic for getting the mods for your game. Then go back to this forum if you need help with them. ;) 8. Is the Arma II scene going strong or has it died down? I would say it's decently strong... probably not incredible if you are used to games like COD, but for a simulation community, it's probably one of the largest. :) 9. Why do you play Arma, and what do you love about it? Not enough forum space to tell you why I love ArmA... sorry. ;)

Running via the datacachepreprocesser just gave an encryption error. And saving the registry keys, they were overwritten with the reinstall. I'm assuming I will prolly have to get them all again via retail. :(

Hey all- So I have ArmA 2, BAF, ACR, PMC and OA on Steam. However, I am no longer able to play online due to a global ban. Making a long story short, a friend asked me to put something in my file and test it, told me it wasn't against the rules, and I can remove it when I get out of game. This got me banned, and then he just removed me from his contacts, and left me to dry. Keep the "you deserve to be banned" comments to yourself, I didnt know what I was doing. I am a little smarter now. >_> So I went to the bistore, and bought ArmA2 Combined Ops from them since you cannot buy it twice on Steam. I've installed both onto my drive, but now I have a problem of running my BAF, PMC, and ACR expansions since they are Steam expansions. I tried copy and pasting the ACR BAF and PMC files to my new ArmA directory, but Steam's encryption doesnt like that... So how can I launch my expansions with my OA and ArmA 2?

Hey all- So, I have ArmA 2, and Arrowhead on direct DL from BI, but all 3 expansions from Steam. Is there a way I can hook all of this together, and play the two mains retail, and the 3 expansions as well? I have tried copy and pasting the files, but they are encrypted, so they cannot be launched outside the Steam file I assume.

Expensive indeed, but I deserve to give BI my money. I broke their rules. As for "friends," yeah, I thought he was a cool guy... *sigh*

Hey guys- Recently, I have been addicted to all things helicopter, and really want some missions with drop off, and evac situations with me as the pilot. Hot LZs are even better, but for the time being, I am just looking for some helo missions. Anyone got some suggestions? :)

Him and I spoke about air units, and it's really hard to figure out how to get the player to work in an air unit, because the spawning rate would be through the roof because you are moving so quickly. As of right now, the player being in an air unit will not work. I imagine it crashes the script eventually because of how much it's trying to spawn.
