  1. People did ask for some more contemporary stuff, and they're getting it, but I think they expected and wanted that to be for BLUFOR, and not the AAF.

well, 2 jets still to come. Greenfor is really now underpowered, only the jet probably balancing it out. So Why would an islnd like Altis, not have an MBT and IPV?

    ---------- Post added at 17:43 ---------- Previous post was at 17:40 ----------

The vehicles are only meant to be loosely based on their real life counterparts where applicable.. For example: A M2A1 Slammer essentially is a downgraded Merkava IV' date=' because like the Russians did with their downgraded export models of say T-72, the Israëli's were likely to save the best parts for their own tanks to have an edge in combat capability just in case they had to fight a licence-build Merkava.. That's why Slammer isn't called Merkava, and shouldn't be treated as if it was a 1:1 copy of said vehicle either.. I think it's safe to say the same could be said for various other vehicles BIS had introduced, or is about to bring into their game..

And I know it's mainly an infantry based game, but especially with infantry around the vehicles, situational awareness should be decent at all times! Otherwise it's guessing if you'd not run over one of your teammates taking cover behind or besides your vehicle....

And to elaborate, helo's for one don't have a mere frontal-view with HUD for show either? So why do armored vehicles feel so left behind? Multiple viewports on model should be visible and working ports/windows from within drivers-position.. Or atleast, I hope one day BIS gets rid of their lousy single-window syndrome.. That's all the things that I have to complain about.[/quote']

i believe in one of beat builds, there were some apc cockpits, also openable doors on ifrit, have even screens on it on my steam profile. I guess they are working on it, still 2 years ahed to work on arma 3 as they said. Just have to wait.

  2. Well' date=' if you wish to turn against your former ally, you better come prepared, right?

That means getting your hands on decent equipment, and who says the AAF merely have the current two islands as their domain?? What if BIS decides to eventually add a few other islands/maps to that? Who's to say that content being released soon isn't going to be useful later? All the more choice model-wise right? That is if we're talking modding standard A3 ofcourse.. I for one welcome it. And no doubt all the content that is due will be seen throughout the course of the coming two campaigns. So complain a bit less please, BIS even release it for free..! (or at a game-buyers price, without an extra sum of money charged if you will.) And it begs the question, is it ever enough? I know the game is far from perfect, and it simply cannot be perfect.. But I would plea for patience.. BIS is working on it. And whatever content they add, it essentially is their game, and ours to play by choice.[/quote']

waaaait, people were complaining about "lack of conent in arma 3", now they do complain about addional content as well? Is that ever geting old?

  3. This, +1. We've spent 2 weeks in A2, boy I missed the good ol' content.

Main reason for temporarily quitting A3 is not the content or scifi weaponry, but the fact that AI is still after numerous fixes cheating like a bastard and is superprecise -> usually giving 1 shot to a head/torso from 700m away with a normal rifle, while you probably can't even spot them. They aim for torso, but usally they hit a head when prone ;)

well, what about having PvP matches then? My team does coop for tactical, and teamplay tranings, and we do frieday satureday sunday games, where usualy 70 ppl at friday and 100 and 110-20 at sunday playing. You do simple not need AI there, and its really damn enjoyable.

  4. Here's some reference: http://www.makeitlouder.com/Decibel%20Level%20Chart.txt

    From there:

    180 (P) 1 POUND T.N.T. AT 15 FEET -REF.4.

    187 (P) 1 TON T.N.T. AT 100 FEET, EXACTLY 186.8 DB -REF.4.

So, an artillery shell (which contains 15-25 pounds of HE) falls somewhere inbetween. Assuming that sound pressure level is proportional to the explosive mass (which is not true, but an approximation) and 20 pounds of TNT, we get 193dB at 15 feet, and correspondingly ~180dB at 60 feet ("6 dB per double distance" law, also doesn't actually apply here - but again, it's an approximation).

    Verification: going from the other side, 1 short ton / 20 pounds = 100 = 20 dB; (187 - 20 + 6) dB = 173 dB at 50 feet - close, given our wide assumptions.

173 dB is pretty much enough to knock out your hearing ;)

According to NeuroFunker - you'll be dead, but still have damn good hearing :D

if you were reffering to my video, how do you up on 120mm?

  5. I can only play with good framrate on servers with a maximum of 30 players on. So it's funny when BIS says this on their official website:

I would love to see if it's even possible to play 120 players on one server.

playing weekly games on russian arma 3 community, about 100-120 players each games, yes you can. It obviously lags at begining until everyone is loaded and whatever else, but then it is very playable. Right now on WOG are 110 people, i think it is playeable if they are still there.

  6. In this case i should assume 2 things:

a)Either you are checking MP once in a week (because from Monday to Friday there is totally different reality..)

    b)Either you Photoshopped this :)

    Seriously..

Once..i bought BF2BC2-and i CAN'T remember one time i haven't found a "busy" server list to choose one-anytime on day and night

This we see here..it's not (by-far) satisfactory for a "new" game (as ARMA 3 is).

    *added later

Ahh..and about the gamemodes you showing with pride.

    Wasteland

    King of the Hill

    FFT

    Altis life (!??oO)

None of those i can play with my Q6600 and the previously commented Hilarious mission scripting AND BI's netcode.

If you believe the majority can afford a NASA i7 then...ok..let me be the only one i ll get frustrated and get my ranting a$$

to some other title i can handle ok..

*But..i know-you know i m not the only one here...

no need to whine, when you can't afford modern PC for arma 3. Strangely all 100 people on WOG, can afford a pc to play arma 3. So they must have a nasa pc and me to.
