    There's your answer to why the sides are so similar, the lack of caliber types. Looks like a hardcore balanced game that doesn't follow real life.

    well, arma 3 is not a simulator anymore, if you wonder.


  2. Which reminds me to apologize for all my blind fanboy defense at all costs of arma 3 when it was in alpha/beta to anyone else who had "real" concerns regarding the game, I see now i must have come across as a complete arsehole.

    Dynamo;2569544']i gave up multiplayer a while back. i try it after every update but nothing changes. in single player' date=' i can run all settings at max with the exception being view distance which i set to 2km. i get no less than 30 FPS with occasional drops to <5 FPS every 15-20 sec.

    it really is a shame BIS have yet to find the cause of the low client fps in multiplayer, and also fix the overly too common stuttering.

    well, there is still arma 2 there, just in case.


  4. Probably it does, if, i'm the only one person in the world, who is able to play arma 3 without crashes, low fps, and on stable, good optimized servers. Poor other 100 people who are on the same server i'm on, must be a pain to play for them.


  5. well maybe your right, whati imagine, when your on the ground asphalt or beton, or near stone/cement wall, and bulets hit them close to your face, you get small shrapnells and dust from the bullets and material, hiting at it nearby, so it theoreticaly affects your vision. No idea from just flying bullet nearby. So maybe blured vision could be more "realistic" applied only in that situation.

    You didn't hit him 90 times, so this is just a comment on your accuracy. No human in this game ever survives more than 5 rounds to the body armor, and 2-3 is most common. In practice, you will score a lot of hits to arms, backpacks, guns, etc. And the survivability of such hits is actually quite realistic, if only there was a real effect on combat performance.

    depends on a weapon as well. Where 5,56mm needs 5-7 shots, 7,62mm needs 2-3 or 1 headshot. And the further your enemy is, the harder to hit and less deadly small cal weapons are.


  7. depends on system and scenario. I personally can't remember when i had a crash as a client last time. Joined 1 altis life server 25 fps, joined another 50 fps - server hardware based/ mission optimization? Stable 40 fps with 100+ players, from a3rc.com community, but only PvP no AI, 30+coop matches invide & annex and patrol ops 3, also stable 40-50 fps on a3rc coop server.


  8. I know suppression effects are a controversial topic, but that effect in particular seems really extreme. I can't see how it would be at all possible to have a firefight with that much blur. I hope you'll consider toning it down, as my suspicion is that it will lead to a situation in which whoever fires the first shot will win the engagement, regardless of how accurate they were.

    or it shows, that you have to seek cover immedetly!


  9. about VTS_Ballistic, maybe i've got older version, but i've been playign a lot with this addon, what adds wind detection, but somehow it had some gravity problems, like granades were often flying very long trajectory, like they were a tennisball or something. If it's in module, you can disable it, then thats not a prob.

  10. I play a longer session of coop with my friends once every week. So far we had a great time. Most of us agree that the amount of time we have spent so far in Arma 3 for it's price and compared to other games (we're mostly flight simulator oriented, not really hardcore Arma players) makes it GOTY. All of us spent more time in Arma 3 than any other game released this year and despite some shortcomings, each session was immense fun. However, this is basically the only good way to fully enjoy Arma. If anyone just picks up the game and wants to join an MP server and have some fun, the experience will most probably be discouraging. The Life and Wasteland mods are dominating the non-password locked servers and these games are not really what Arma is about, not to mention that even for someone with Arma experience they are very confusing.

    Arma's main problem is lack of some standard multiplayer mode out of the box, something like Domination of Advance and Secure so that dedicated servers which anyone could join and play PvP could start showing in numbers. It's also a shame that the campaign does not have any coop capability. I suppose this will change with time. Project Reality is something I am looking forward to, some other mods like the recent Alive thing show great promise as well. These thing just need more publicity than the Wasteland stuff.

    you can see a positive thing about wastland and arma being most populated, it keeps all the trolls, immature (not by the age only) less intellectual people, who only would like to spoil someones game, TKing at bases, destroying vehicles and other shit, maybe few hackers as well. ;)

    Not really the point. If I had a cent for every bad thread title, I guess I'd be rich. People like to exaggerate, sadly, to get attention.

    Oh come on. The discussion of PvP vs. Coop vs. Whatever is as old as Operation Flashpoint, there is really no need to rehash that again. And to be honest, it doesn't interest me in the least. Everybody plays this game like he wants to, it's always been like that and if things don't go all FUBAR, that's how it will be. Personally, I am a coop player, and if 10 million were playing PvP now it wouldn't matter to me as long as there is a good Coop game going on. Which it always is at CiA ;)

    The bottom line of this is, play how you like it.

    lol, i hear you, but i'm no way to "dectate" anyone, what to play and what not. I do just enjoy coop along with PvP, from domination to wasland, RPG life to dayz, it came just to my mind, seeng this top 10 missions in stats, that some people were claiming PvP in arma is dead, which ofcourse is a false statement. :)


  11. They'd need to have more assets in the game to start imbalancing things, otherwise players would complain that one side is missing an X.

    lol thats the thing, which always will be - no matter if BI done anything in one and another way, people would complain. And i don't believe, if all factions were pretty much unbalanced, there would be less complains about it. At the end, BIS would be forced to balance things out similar to what we got right now, and people who were pleased with unbalanced game setting, would start complain like now.

    Some people like blonde, some brunette, you can't make a game like arma, what pleases everyone at same time


  12. i don't think it differs alot from arma 2. The only unbalanced in the way you mean, were project reality arma 2. Where US soldiers had modern weapons with IR scopes, all sort of long range scope rifles, and takistani had only akm's/74 without scopes, unless they were officers and snipers. In arma 3 maybe only the vehicles, are pretty identical in therms of arms, ammo, towers etc, yes not the best thing, but it's there, and you can live with somehow.


  13. Another thing is, the game feels like its unrealistically balanced. This is a major turn off for Arma PvP and Coop players. Because who likes "balanced generic faction 1, 2 and 3" slugging it out? Arma 2 was really fun when shit could rain down hell onto you.

    today i was on king on the hill mission server, there was mi-48 "kayman" assaulting the city with me and enemies in it, there was really the shit raining down. So how is that different to arma 2?


  14. we will be losing people, hopefully, who don't bother to make abit constructive thread, if they want help, like Ratzo said before: we have dozen of: diz game suxx, me has 40 fps on my uber-duber highend pc!!1! So, we understand he is dissapointed, that the game runs not so well, but he doesn't bother to tell us, what ingame settings he got, is that in SP/MP, on what mission, what server, how many people are on, some even don't post their pc configs lol etc. It's more like he just want to release his own frustration, and not finding help.

    Btw, arma3 facebook and steam, are full of that childish "bohemia fix your game" crap, i guess this works well, to make people not even want try arma 3, when u try to ask, what should they fix, u only get trolled.


  15. but this is a questionable thread as u see, it's not named something like "multiplayer dying because of..." instead it asks: "is it dying?" Well, i have only answer for it - check the pulse, if heart is beating, then it's is living.

    top 10 - are all PvP missions.
