This actually very surprisingly worked. I think this is the first time any advice I've been given regarding nonworking games has actually worked, so thank you very much :)

I downloaded the setup from the GameUpdates torrent link, and did all the extracting and whatnot to get to the installation. When I install it, however, near the end of the installation I always get this error: I retried many times, aborted and restarted it many times, and tried running as administrator many times as well, but none of that has worked. Can anybody help?

I uninstalled ARMA from my computer, completely removed everything to do with it, and redownloaded it from a different source, all to the the same effect. I still get the same exact error when trying to install the game. I just ran scandisk a second ago, no help. I'm almost certain it's nothing to do with my RAM.
