  1. I recently picked up War Thunder and tank combat is really fun. The damage/armor model is very good, you always have to remember your angles. Plus all that other stuff like terrain deformation (just imagine what a 188t Maus would do to a muddy meadow). I would love to see all that in Arma, but we always want Arma to do everything and be the only game we'd ever have to play. It's not a realistic expectation for Arma to be the be-all end-all. Still, an improved damage model (body armor + vehicles, medical system) would #1 on my wishlist for the expansion, seeing how all other aspects of Arma are really stepping up lately, especially with Marksmen.

    Marksmen DLC Weapon Feedback

At least you know Pettka is following your discussion closely. ;)
  3. Finally finished part two and I'm speechless. What a campaign! Apart from the nice gameplay and different mission types the superb voice acting and amazing soundtrack really stand out. That's professional work! I hope this won't be the last we see from you guys and good luck in the contest!
  4. Thanks for the video! Well done, it really showcases the new sounds nicely. The audio team did a great job so far. Marksmen DLC got me really excited.

    Next DLC and Expansion Speculation

@kromka Resistance was an addon, not a DLC, so it's not really fair to compare these two. You should wait for the expansion to make a comparison.

Lack of content in vanilla Arma 3

Guess that's why BF was 120€ pre-release and Arma was 25€.
  7. Check out the MCC thread for a nice Taru demonstration.
  8. Why are you complaining to BI when a mod you are using isn't working?

    Development Blog & Reveals

I get that the engine features that come with the DLC wouldn't exist without it, but still, everyone gets them for free (thanks BI). I'm afraid though that not many people will buy the DLC, except those who already did with Supporter/Deluxe Editions or DLC bundle. For people who didn't get either the situation now is: do I want to pay 12€ for 2 helis and some time trials, or do I just take the other stuff for free? I hope BI's generosity doesn't backfire and we can enjoy many awesome updates in the future.

    Firing from Vehicles feedback

To anybody who could already try it: Does the movemnt of the vehicle shake the shooter around and messes up his aim? Otherwise I'm afraid shooting from vehicles might be a little too easy. The person would basically be an extra turret.
  11. Good luck and have fun to everyone. Unfortunately I can't make it this time.
  12. Wow  Can't wait to play this. I love good story driven campaigns, especially if the voice acting is good. This is superb!
  13. Thanks everyone for this fun experience!

    Here, take a look.
  15. That sounds awesome and I'd love to be part of it. I assume primary means of communication will be ingame VOIP? (English)
  16. Awesome photo, but I do mind that you didn't use an AUG :p
  17. "Bohemia Interactive is the worst form of game developers, except for all the others." - Winston Churchill So yes, I still stick with 'em.

    It doesn't feel the same

I honestly don't understand people who say Chernarus had more variety than Altis. I get that you liked the setting more and Chernarus is a great map without doubt. But it's hills and forests, that's it. On Altis you have the hills in the NW part of the island, a huge city, flat terrain in the middle (yes, lots of) and you even have a desert. Oh and don't forget that all that water now also has some gameplay value.

    Verisimilitude of Arma 3

@MikeTim That's absolutely NOT what he meant by that. OT (damn, Cozza was faster) "[...] Instead, it's a combined arms games, which provides the opportunity to participate at all levels of combat with accessibility and authenticity as a guiding principle." This means you can play everything you want on the battlefield. You like infantry, or rather being a tank commander, maybe you like flying an attack helicopter or just driving a squad around in the back of your truck? You name it, you can do everything you want. "Arma's not a hardcore simulation of every platform involving modern and future combat like you see in a focused sim." The level of detail of all those aspects Arma offers isn't as high as in designated simulations. You don't have complex start up procedures for helicopters, you simply press 'Engine on'. Your tank won't get stuck in mud and your cars radiator won't die. Arma offers a lot of different stuff and of course not every aspect is as detailed as in a sim that only focuses on one of those. As far as I know unfortunately not one of the BI developers is capable of time travel. So somewhere a line has to be drawn.

    Faction restrictions

There is a way. Link a BLUFOR unit to a OPFOR unit so the OPFOR unit is the leader. Set probability of OPFOR unit to 0%.
  23. You really love to mess with us. Btw how is the implementation of your avatar going? ;)

ARMA 3 RotorLib Suggestions by Black Viper

Nowadays people don't even try anymore to educate themselves on topics they want to give their opinion on. This thread is called "Suggestions by Black Viper" but 90% of the opening post is about how much it sucked if the new model was mandatory. It was stated countless times that it will be optional.
