How am I going to do this, I CANNOT upload 13GB via home DSL onto my dedicated server. Can somebody help me out here? I don't understand why BI has such a frustrating process here. Can somebody PM or add me on steam and give me a download to their server content for OA 1.59 and/or A2 1.0.9? This isnt doable for me and so far its been a waste of time and bandwidth :(

Well, you can still autorotate.

Autorotation doesent work for me, I try it with Mi-24's I cronically use in Warfare BE but there is either a forest beneath me... or I explode on landing. But that isnt as much as an issue in takistan because there is nothing but sand.

The Mi-24 has an enormous amount of hitpoints, but its main rotor tends to shut down if a single large-caliber rounds hits the engine block.

I've learned this many times, it seems emergency landing training does nothing.

Negative: Quick test in editor shows..T-90 explodes after 2 SMAW AT to the front or rear or side, does not matter and is completely ridicoulous

Mi-24P needs the same amount of SMAW AT as T-90...it's build in Joke for sure...flying tank...blabla.

Mi-24 is resistent to 50. cal at the most. I think the developers were high when they created Arma 2.

And by the way reduce the ridicolous high hitpoint amoutn on aircraft. Most aircraft can take more damage than a T-90 in this game.

T90 can take a shitload of HE shells, all the aircraft can only take one.

I've always been curious to why the Igla pod can only fire one rocket at a time with a 3 second or so delay. Which is far from realistic, as there are two triggers and firing both at the same time would prove very useful. Here is a example of how it should be...

Has anybody ever tried setting up X and vnc on their linux ds and then running steam from wine and downloading the files that way? Then removing X of coarse, GUI's are no good for server OS'.

1000 Mbit w/ 850GB bandwidth cap, its not horrible but the bandwidth cap... Im guessing, may severely limit my servers capabilities. :(

Am I correct in saying that the you are allowed to set up a dedicated server on a separate machine - as long as you own the game? If this is the case, then I could legitimately take a copy of Defunkts image and save myself the hassle of uploading the gamefiles over my DSL connection. ( Orcon, NZ :) )

The alternative I've been contemplating is to install steam... but I suspect I'd then need to run steam in order to run the server - meaning I couldn't play from my home machine.

I'm assuming BI intends to let you install a dedicated server without having to buy a 2nd instance of the game.

Arma 2 on steam is independent of Steam. You can do it, just run the a2 exe.

Yes, Uploading everything is a pain but it's considered illegal to share files so that's pretty much the only option I'm afraid.

I'll be running Warfare Benny edition on Chernarus. With 24 players, which I intend to fill up. Civilians off, resistence AI on recruit, player AI on regular. I hope it won't eat up to much memory to the point it has to start using a crapload of swap. I have dual xeon.

not much, until you stick with "normal" or "low" ground detail and reasonable viewdistances.

Why would the server be rendering anything? Its just a console. I figure I'll put 2GB in it and setup a 24 player Warfare.

Not familiar with A2 DS, how much dam would it require for a minimal debian installation on my dedicated server. Im thinking 24 players.
