  2. Hey I seem to be getting an odd issue with patrol garrison and patrol urban where sometimes groups will get waypoints to [0,0,0]. I'm not 100% sure whats causing it but 'patrol' doesn't seem to have the issue EDIT: to clarify a bit, they will usually get one or two legit waypoints and then only waypoints to [0,0,0]

    Yeah spawned explosions aren't that big of a deal - even then there's some work arounds (like hijacking the scripts spawning them)

  8. He's using attachto for the weapons. To my knowledge there's no way to fix this, it plagued 'fire from vehicle' scripts in arma 2 aswell.

    Shouting 'BIS DO SOMETHING' is wasted effort and shouldn't be appreciated. You're achieving nothing but making noise without anything to back it up. All this crap is achieving is making the issue get further ignored

  11. that isn't the issue the issue is the performance hit WHEN you are nearby. Kavala already runs like shit in 90% of situations.

    Hey Robalo is there a wayto exclude static weapons/vehicles from the AI automatically manning them in your reaction script? Occasionally I need to set up semi-destroyed vehicles or static mortars to be used as demolition targets etc but always find some jerks sitting on them when they're supposed to be locked ---------- Post added at 02:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:01 PM ---------- That or check if the vehicle is locked because it seems ordergetin disregards the lock status

    You do realize the ability to encrypt it would mean the encryption itself would be public and therefore easy to reverse engineer? I've learnt pretty much everything I know from opening up others missions and addons and going "I wonder how they pulled that off" because sadly it's few and far between now for people to actually post their stuff because everyone is afraid of others infringing their IP

    I keep getting a crash when spawning the m249 or m240. It works fine when you start as a unit with the weapon already but using addweapon (like in load out scripts) or arsenal it crashes the game nevermind turned out to be a issue on my end

  22. You're missing the point. I'm saying that making arguments like 'this doesn't happen in reality' doesn't apply because in reality you can't spin on the spot immediately and there's a million other factors involved when it comes to aiming that is impossible to recreate in a game played on a 2d screen. Having rock steady aim 24/7 makes shooting completely effortless and dull, and it seems that some people want this for whatever reason but a lot of people actually want shooting to require some level of skill as it makes for a more interesting experience. Not to mention the fact that the common argument against these systems (Recoil, Inertia) has always been 'well my avatar is supposed to a trained soldier they should be able to manage all these things!' Which completely ignores the idea that the player themselves should learn to manage these things like a real soldier would. It's like if you play a true sim like DCS or whatever and then go "hey my avatar is supposed to be a trained pilot why do i have to do this complex start procedure"
  23. To give a reason to not use the biggest gun possible. Arma 2 balanced this shit by having negative mouse acceleration and it made the game feel terrible, this is a better way of doing as you still have the 1:1 mouse movement just now fast movement misaligns your sights. Stop bringing realism into an argument when you're aiming with a mouse and not a gun
