after the trouble I had getting arma 2 OA installed and updated due to a bad cd key error I have been happy playing until last night where now if I try to join any game in OA online it gives me BAD CD KEY and kicks me out.. GRRRRRRR

I have a totally valid paid for key which was provided to me on the download from sprocket.

btw i'm running the standalone addition on version 1.59

  2. ok so I got home and tried again with the 1.57 patch.

this still did not work. came up with the "WRONG CD KEY" message.

I then googled around a bit and came across some french dude with a fix.

He said if you modify the key in

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2 OA]

and change the hex at the end and try running patch it should work.

I did this and tried again with the 1.59 patch and as you can see its getting further.

as I write this it is updating so I will return shortly to tell you if this method has suceeded.

tested it online with a few servers and no moaning about my key so I guess that french guys solution did the trick.

hmmm maybe you should hire him! ;)

now if you excuse me i'll pay more money now for reinforcements...

for those wanting to know what his solution was I went to

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2 OA]

changed the last two digits of the hex key to B7

then I saved it and tried patch but still did not work.

I changed the hex key again back to C8

ran the patch and it worked.

  3. what's exactly the message of problem on patch install

    screenshot ? error log ?

    HI,

I'm at work right now but can take a screenshot of the error when I get home in about 3 hours.

Basically when I try to install the latest patch it unpacks then stops displaying the message "WRONG CD KEY"

The key in question was purchased yesterday from the sprocket thing advertised on the arma2 page.

  4. **SOLVED**

    Hi,

I purchased this game from sprocket last night and had my key emailed to me.

when attempting to update it to the latest version it unpacks then says wrong cd key.

    what gives!?

considering I parted with the best bones of 30 euro I expect the key given to me by your vendor to work on updates

Not really an unreasonable thing is it now bohemia considering that I have paid for your services and usually when that happens you are able to update to latest version.

I have a copy of the email with the key here should it need to be sent to you guys.

I am eager to play online but obviously can not until this matter is sorted out.

I should add that I purchased this yesterday from SPROCKET.

Here is the screenshot of the purchase email.

I have however blanked out the serial number for obvious reasons.

I can provide this direct to support or you can check the order number

    to see that its valid.

In desperation now will download the 1.57 patch and try to apply that.

Would someone from bohemia be so kind as to get back to me or provide me with a telephone number to resolve this issue or kindly refund me!
