Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.
Bee8190 replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Yes, I'd also recommend to add few more quid towards the Ti version. The 560 Ti will perform little better than 560 and if you decide to SLI'em they will kick ass and make it future proof even longer :) Also consider - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-155-EA -
You're gotta be kidding me I also know ppl who play COD or other games becouse they simply have no time for proper games like arma, they spent most of their time taking care of business or family for instance. I dont judge them, why should I? (no im not talking about myself here) So hey, don't choke with your infinite ego next time you make your shitty little comment you teenager @peter bullet - if you're looking for something more action packed yet with realistic gear and stuff give a go to Xeno's Domination2, its fun and even more when running ACE

Haha, yeah I've seen something like that before and the best part indeed was the rig was apparently fine afterwards  :p (Although I suppose just becouse its still in working order it's not really fine :P) Anyways, for my post above, I failed (:j:) to add that every CPU has different max (safe) operational temps but in general its not recommended to go past 75°C ish on most CPU's. ( reduced life span [from~20years to ~ 12 :j: ], random restart, unstability, random BSOD... ) I should therefore stress out that it's quite important to clean your rig from dust&shit from time to time and least but certainly not last make sure the thermal paste is applied properly... Alright, nothing really new written here but i hope some might find it usefull :)

Alright, rather quick search but decent boards for a buck... (afaik if you register at newegg you get promocode for further pricedrop :) ) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130576 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128520 Also, have you've gotten the 2300 i5 already or would that be rather favorit for your build? -

There's nothing wrong with mic ATX but if you don't need one due to small case i wouldn't go for it. Not as good cooling capabilities as ATX and your GPU ram CPU cooler will get way too close to each other and thus getting some decent aftermarket cooler may not fit than = no OC'ing.. -

Well it's not like it is a bad processor (i7 930) but why would you pay same price for slower and older CPU when u can get 2500 / 2600K? I'd strongly advice on waiting for Ivy bridge as it's gonna wipe floor with even sandy bridge K versions. ( trigate transistors, adjustable TDP, native USB 3, native RAM support of up to 2100Mhz etc..) LGA2011 - sure if you're made of money and want server like performance at its best Also, considering zambezi CPU's, now those might not be just as awsome as Sandy but at their pricepoint/power will make it hard to ignore them... http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/AMD-FX-series-Processor-Bulldozer-opteron,news-36419.html -

Quite good actually... but myself I'd go for H80 cooler, 8Gb ram LAT 8 and WD black 64Mb cache instead, if that will be your primary HDD. If not , caviar blue will be fine and I'd go for intel 510 or crucial M4 SSD as primary than As of GPU I'd go MSI personal preferences though :) Yeah, nice and balanced build with quality monitor :) -
Hes right, 270Mb compressed, ~ 370Mb on HDD and should be available on torrents soon. Source - PR forums

Yes, what Mr.DMarkwick said. People might to start on demanding, like quicker support in case of little bug or alike and all the friendly and supportive atmosphere would wanish. I wish i could donate every place I feel its well deserved but thats unfortunately over my capabilities. Speaking of hardware, I imagine many ppl upgrade when it becomes real necessary just to keep them playing. -
Is the Arma Communtiy getting too obsessed with legal issuse such as EULA's ?
Bee8190 replied to rhaggan's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
What would you suggest than to keep their work ''intact'' and their idea as that is the one of the obvious qualities of PR? I'am by no means expert in this matter but I seem to be unable to find ''solution'' to keep just everyone happy -

@Hellfire, You indeed did not call me names and neither did I as that would be unnecessary and I'd imagine too uncomfortable for both of as.No need for that. What i was refering to (from recently locked thread) was an attitude and clear (to me) intention to disrespect the wishes and their voluntary work. (and literally any addon maker or modder) and unfortunately posts that followed I considered as unnecessary flaming or otherwise disrespectful in context whereas little information was given by PR team at the time. I hope that this will help to clear the ''situation'' -

People? What i seen so far, that would be you, hellfire whatever and just few others that find ''that'' extremely arrogant. Makes me wonder, aren't you the ones, who's really arrogant here? You can edit your mission to any degree you like (arma),with pretty much exactly same units, yet should anybody release ''additional content'' you go all mad for not being permitted to do so publicaly becouse developer is trying to keep their latter/standard? -

*sight* Anyways, its not like PR is going to take over arma, who wants to keep playing arma will continue to do so and as i said in my previous posts, the MP scene of arma can just get better.(speaking of my own experience) -

I just posted my view on that matter, page back. Its not however exactly regarding EULA licensing and i will withdraw at this point. Wasting this space with arguing over ''this isn't BF2'' or inserting flaming cartoons is pointless in this thread and i am done here. -

It's great to have all the realistic gear, vehicles, ballistics and whatnot but I'am asking what for?? I mean, we get a game that is reasonably as realistic as close it can get, again with all that gear, sight adjustment and all and than these players go and literally jump in front of your line of fire. It makes me give up on all these fancy weapons and i'd rather play some cartoony game where there are fights with wooden sticks, IF the team works just little more coordinated. Also i don't wanna join some clan to get decent round, in PR i never had to, ppl knew what to do and no, they weren't clans, just random dudes that just joined server. To be fair though i seen quite decent performance on ACE servers (hell im not some former SAS too) but it is not something to be seen on daily basis as rather luck. My point being, PR is trying to achieve that, reunite the MP community and let the public play as you were in clan. They did achieve that in BF2, with huge success.Yes, they placed some restrictions here and there but in the end it worked and rather well. It is my understanding that you can do in the editor whaever you like and even play your own custom mission with PR content on lan, you however cannot realease it for public use without approval of the PR team. (once again, this is how i personally understand it) But no, some of you are so fucking addon hungry that if there was a quadrilion of them, including one that has been made to provide specific function, playability or whatever, you just can't let it be.Oh, it is within the community spirit huh? Well than you just gonna piss on months of someones hard work and possibly spoil the GAMEPLAY for everyone who is looking for FINALLY reunited MP scene and i dont believe that is ''within community spirit'' too Celery and Hellfire whatever, you are very sophisticated TROLLS -
Whats the cheapest computer i can buy to play arma 2 smoothly?
Bee8190 replied to lukestephens's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
To be fair I'am hater of prebuilded PC's and there is nothing like build PC yourself. Imo the decision doesn't ( or shouldn't) end at what CPU, RAM etc the bundle has, things like quality powersupply, low LAT RAM etc are the factors that i would like to be fully aware off. Also it is not always possible to upgrade some components in bundles from big companies. If you, or your friend can build custom one (PC) i wouldn't bother with prebuild PC. Thats however my opinion and may differ :) I was unable to find GPU nor HDD details so i refrain from commenting on above build. Personally, i would go for i5 2500K though, its more than capable processor even for arma and got maybe SLI instead. Heck, if you going to consider custom build i will gladly help you to do any research or recommend parts for it;) (its simply fun) -

Well go ahead, edit your fucking game however you like I too paid for my game when PR team announced they will create mod that would bring the gameplay style as we know it. That was and is the main reason i bought arma game
