No women at all "yet". That's the keyword. There are classnames I found that are available to look at in the current A3 config files. Civ females: There's even female names to look at: There are "TakistaniWomen" names too, but those I am not so sure about being in the final game. Now we all just need patience. The game is out very soon. I'm sure everybody is gonna find the civilians and personalities they want :)

Yes. I was suspecting that. Redundant with two different ranger mods :) -

I have tried to make a ranger-green-ish vest that already is included. I linked this picture a page back or so: The left one. Would that be ranger-green? I'll gladly update it to be even more accurate if it's not accurate enough. What qualifies? Current uniform but with the correct shoulderpatches? Is there anything I can throw together with the current models I have? -

Let me know what you had in mind once you can :) Empty > Vehicles > M-ATV I should probably change "Vehicles" to "Vehicles (IndUs)" or something. Also. I have a problem. It might be the textures themselfs, or the rvmat. I have no idea yet. http://imageshack.us/a/img22/5803/pe30.png -

You mean mix the two models up? Interesting in what way? :) I'm not sure how the patches will end up. The independent uniform-model is undergoing changes on the DEV build. And the independent ghillie-suit is missing vest-memory points, and the camo selections aren't working correctly yet. ---------- Post added at 02:43 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:18 AM ---------- Also. this looks cool: http://imageshack.us/a/img208/9471/a8sr.png -but what are the odds of seeing somone with no front iron sight? What could be done to it to keep it acceptable? Just a note. All items in the picture are available in 1.5. The M4 is in the weaponbox as "M4 SOP". The glasses are BIS tactical glasses. I'm considering making a regular M4 without frontgrip and have soldiers hold it by the magwell. Also considering a M4 with magpul parts. -Worth making? -

Oh, I already have! :D There are 3 vest loadouts, but each loadout comes in 4 colours! 12 in total. It's far less loadouts than I want at the end, but it's just the beginning still. http://imageshack.us/a/img836/766/5srw.png http://imageshack.us/a/img594/1491/nk0.png http://imageshack.us/a/img198/1714/dyrk.png The new version is out for testing. First page has the download link. There's some obviously broken stuff, like the officer, but it's only temporary. It's updated to 1.5: -New gear! (helmets, vests, backpacks) -Updated the M4 family texture to a darker tone. -Updated the UCP Uniform texture. (+new boot textures) -Updated the backpack texture. -Updated the ACH texture. -Removed Medic backpack texture. -Adjusted helmet position. (Goggles fit better) -Added woodland and desert camo variants for all M4/M16A4/Mk12/M249. -Added tan M-ATV. -Added more 3D geometry to the ACH helmet. -Added a temporary soldier wearing a OCP uniform, backpack and helmet. -Added a new faction category for the units in editor. -Added a mod icon. -Added a temporary ghillie uniform. -Added a rotating muzzleflash for the m249. -Changed the m249 para bipod position slightly. -Changed a lot of classnames. (! Check 1st page in my thread !) -Fixed M4/M16A4 muzzleflashes so they are in their correct position. -Fixed a few weapons not using their RVMAT files for some parts. -Fixed M249 railcovers so they hide when attaching a accessory. -Fixed Mk12 flip-sights. -

Are you suggesting I should know what it is I spend my days texturing? I believe it is. It's well made atleast. I haven't even checked any references at all untill just now.. Is it used by the ARMY at all? Or just USMC? -

AlexVestin replied to AlexVestin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
That's exactly what I thought. That pack is great. I'm not sure if it'd be a good idea to give my units those optics as default. If I do that then my mod would force people to download another addon. The optics are great, and fits the rifles perfectly, so we'll see how that works out. For now the weapons will just support FHQ optics, not depend on them. Not sure what others think about having the mod depend on them. ---------- Post added at 08:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:55 PM ---------- http://imageshack.us/a/img716/8751/6fqf.png Some more testing with the platecarriers. Sorry about the sleeping soldiers in the background. -

Not really, no. I thought there's so many others already doing optics. People who have a bit more experience with optics. -
What's your take on dust? Too few games leave the dust hanging for some time after an explosion.

AlexVestin replied to AlexVestin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Nothing really. I'm just doing it all step by step. Model first, then the textures. I could pm you a test version later, but will probably try to get a few bugs sorted first. Big thanks to you for the well crafted vest! :) I've fixed up the vest and it's weightning quite good now. It had a problem with stretching as parts were weighted to the characters arms and shoulders. I made it follow the chest only, and almost all weird stretching dissapeared. Still a few pouches on the front that needs fixing, but it's taking shape. /edit Updated first page credits! -

I know how to get them working. Just threw the models in to see how they fit first. ArmA 3 aircraft sound mod
AlexVestin replied to -KH-Matt's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Not sure why, but I really was expecting a TIE Fighter with correct sound to fly by in one of those videos. Try increasing the "overcast" settings in the editor. Or flying higher :D There's still this thing about having permission to modify peoples work and porting them to ArmA3. I have no idea how it works when it comes to changing sounds, but I'm just gonna remind you to take it easy when it comes to using other peoples work with personal modifications. I'm not hinting at the b747 specifically, I'm just guessing some of these addons are others work. Stuff breaking the forum rules are not that uncommon. The B747 seems like a very useful plane to have on Altis. Am looking forward to seeing more progress :) -
It's what I use. I'm not an expert on what tools are at our disposal, but I'm sure there's others.
-
That texture made me smile. I like the idea :D I actually did not know about the init stuff either. It's awesome! Could I possibly find more of it somewhere?
-
I always get that if I do not binirize the addond correctly. If you have not tried that, it could work. There was no problem for me with the animation file. Just the addon needing to be binirized :)

AV_IndUs (US Army inspired units)
AlexVestin replied to AlexVestin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Yeah, it's noted. The only change seem to be the "ISAF" patch being replaced by a patch the same size like the IR flag now. I'm not so good at high-poly modelling, else there'd be a few uniforms done years ago. I can do hard-surface stuff, but not cloth that requires higher-poly sculptures to work with. -
AV_IndUs (US Army inspired units)
AlexVestin replied to AlexVestin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Oh, is it not a completely different model? Is it just textures? Just to be clear, this is the helmet (underneath all the equipment) I meant: http://www.armaholic.com/datas/users/arma2oa2013-02-2418-55-01-52_zps73648355_4.jpg Not a priority, but would be nice to have also. If it indeed is just a texture for the same model, it would only be good I guess :) For those interested. This is my changelog (so far) for the next version: -
AV_IndUs (US Army inspired units)
AlexVestin replied to AlexVestin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Dave, do you by any chance have the cover-less helmets available too? I could work some magic with more variations. Also. I'm thinking of replacing the independent vests all together. It's quite odd in some places. The uvw is overlapping on many parts. As for updates. I got quite a few bugs fixed and smaller stuff tweaked. Mk12 will have working flip-sights, many more M4 variants, etc. To just name a few things. I think I've said it before, but the muzzleflashes are fixed now. Probably the most irritating bug in the curently released version. -

AlexVestin replied to AlexVestin's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Saw those screen snow. Those look great! I will probably move a few things around, but it's because I need to tweak the ACHs some to fit with the default nvgs and not clip into their goggles. They are tilted down at the front and it makes things clip. If you just include the gear (and PSD template files) you have I'll make a few variations out of them also. I have some ideas :) I will also fix any clipping issues that occur. Save davegary some work. I believe the next update will come soonâ„¢ Just gotta take a look at the uniforms and it's updates it got now on the dev build. -
EM_buildings - new buildings
AlexVestin replied to emoglobinsky's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
First off, don't you dare disappear from the community! Second, I got questions :) Are you doing full interiors only? Have you planned any specific number/types of buildings to create? The way I think of buildings with limited interiors are that they are completely fine, as long as there's atleast two or more entry points. Smaller building are great with full interiors, but if it's a huge appartment building, then a lobby, stairs, corridors and 2-3 open appartments are more than enough. Atleast if it's going to be used in a dense city. There could be many versions of the same building, but the rooms enterable could be switched around. I feel larger buildings are quite needed around here. So many small villages and settlements gets created, but no real city, yet. I'm definitely going to really get into the whole terrain creation once A3 is out. I have had ideas for cities and terrains for years, but not had the knowledge of the whole ArmA modding process. With great resources like this, great things will be created. I'm not thinking about huge maps, mostly islands like the island Porto for those who know it, and it has a great sized town for being such a small island. If I could get to re-create Porto with A3 assets and maybe even buildings like this, wich could get very interesting, there could be lots of fun close-quarter-combat and firefights.
