  1. I had a clan mate who was running these, and I didn't realize it. He updated his drivers today, and was complaining about the same LOD issues I was experiencing. And it was at that point that I realized that there was perhaps an old AMD driver that worked with this FXAA mod. So if anyone has an AMD card and is successfully running this, please let me know which catalyst driver version you're running!!!
  2. I've only ever played it on a 580 and a 4850X2. So obviously the Nvidia card was faster for me. I don't think I've ever seen any decent recent benchmarks though. It'd be an interesting answer to find. One thing to keep in mind is that if you plan on doing SLI/crossfire, specially with the 6xxx series, ATI's driver team has really been rocking on scalability. In most cases, 2 580's vs 2 6970's are an even match, despite a large price difference and Nvidia's single GPU dominance. And the gap widens even further in ATI's favor the more cards you add.
  3. Is it possible to add an additional menu in game that could tweak each individual setting?

Overclocking is pretty simple, and relatively safe as long as you don't overdo it. Here's the first guide that came up in google. http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=267708 And here is a tool for monitoring your temps, which also shows a quick and easy 'max temp'. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html With stock cooling, you're probably not going to hit 4Ghz, so don't expect miricles. But the thing to keep in mind is that as long as you keep your stock voltage where it's at (vCore), then you're not going to damage your processor. The higher the vCore, the more power you have running through your CPU. So obviously, the hotter it will be. But even on stock voltage, you should be able to hit 3.6Ghz or so, and in all honesty, even with stock cooling, you can afford to bump up your vCore a tiny bit anyways to attain something higher. OCing, specially for your first time, will take a bit of research, and then a ton of scientific method to find your max clockrate.
  5. Where are these settings actually? Couldn't find them, even searching the entire file with notepad++ Screenshots: http://ihiopc.com/fxaatest1.jpg http://ihiopc.com/fxaatest2.jpg http://ihiopc.com/fxaatest3.jpg http://ihiopc.com/fxaatest4.jpg http://ihiopc.com/fxaatest5.jpg http://ihiopc.com/fxaatest6.jpg http://ihiopc.com/fxaatest7.jpg

    M109A6 Paladin v1.1 (UPDATED)

Can we get ACE comp... Wait, what does that even mean? Is that were I put it in a mission while running ACE, and I use it effectively? Oh wait, in that case, that's the ONLY time I've used it. :P
  8. Woops, never got to this today. I'll try to post results and screenies in the morning.
  9. Nice! Looking forward to them. :)
  10. Have any preview shots for the next maps you're working on? :D :popcornsmilie:

    M109A6 Paladin v1.1 (UPDATED)

I guess I really didn't look hard enough. I could almost swear that wasn't there 3 hours ago. :P lol Thanks.

    The Orphaned Projects Thread

Is anyone currently working with the Lybia stuff, with intentions of finishing it?
  13. Yep, I'll post some screens and then try those settings later today. If you're unable to test on AMD hardware, I'm more than happy to be a guinea pig till you're able to get it right. :)

    PhysX

You should rename your link to "How to run PhysX on an Nvidia card, with an ATI card as the main GPU". And a better link to better drivers, instructions, etc for this: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=322616

    M109A6 Paladin v1.1 (UPDATED)

How can I place an empty one in the editor?
  16. xRip, send me a PM and I'll see what I can do. Gonna grab my sound equipt back from a loan to a friend, so I can do some voice acting for another project of my own. if all you need is a line or three, I could probably fit the bill.
  17. Just tried this one, and it still results in wonky LOD's for my ATI card.

Anti-Aliasing, how important is it for you?

I usually run it in most other games. But in A2, it's too much of an FPS sacrifice. For some reason, A2, AA, and my video card have never played well together.
  19. I love this map, but like others have said, hopefully there's some followup or source release to fix the RPT errors. Looking forward to some of the firing range/training missions being adapted to this map!

    hot key to control chopper

Mando's missles has this. Not as fluid as the tank commanding hot keys, but more useful IMO. MMA uses a map waypoint system where you open the mma map in the chopper, click it, and the pilot flies there. And there are hotkeys to control the altitude as well.
  22. Yup, it is. I've played on a friend's PC equiped with a 580, and it worked perfectly, so it's deff an ATI issue. Was just reporting in, both for ATI guys (so they know what they're getting into) and you, in case you wanted to experiment with a fix.
  23. Just a note: Not sure if this applies for AMD users or Nvidia users as well, but today I played around a bit on the vanilla and other islands aside from Bushlurker's new islands. LODs on everything were flickering the entire time. Also, seems my ATI HDR bug is back where the HDR starts flickering and gradually turns the entire screen white. Took the FXAA files out, and the problems went away.
