LOD switching issue since 1.62
RSF TheCapulet replied to .kju's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
There is no reason to require demo missions or repro steps. If you're in game, there's LOD issues, across various settings and GfxCard vendors, no matter the mission or activity in game. If the devs need our DXDiags and rpts, I'm sure they'll ask for them. And here's just one of the videos posted from this thread showing the issue. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?137726-LOD-switching-issue-since-1-62&p=2195032&viewfull=1#post2195032 -
More mirrors for ACRLite please!! I was getting a whopping 6kb/s before it timed out after 5mb. Obviously a single mirror isn't going to cut it.

LOD switching issue since 1.62
RSF TheCapulet replied to .kju's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
I notice this happens much more when I turn on any PPAA. It's a problem without it, specially with vehicles, but the game is nearly unplayable with it turned on. Also an ATI user. -
[SP] The Battle of Tora Bora (Deep Recon)
RSF TheCapulet replied to h34dup's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Rated. Will rate the rest as I get time to play through them. As for CBA, it's always running for me anyways, since JSRS requires it. I imagine most would be in the same boat. -
DayZ has ruined this franchise.
RSF TheCapulet replied to oo para oo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
In my opinion, the only thing DayZ has done is brought out the hidden flaws in the Arma community. Never before in this community have I seen such a bunch of whining, self entitled jerks who can't stand the thought of someone playing a game differently than they do. New players need their hands held. New players are going to require a bit more focus to fix this. Hell, even mission design could fix this problem with in-game tutorials that introduce a player to everything at least once before they're allowed to fly, etc. But bitching about it on an open forum is the last thing that will solve your problems. DayZ has given the devs renewed focus to fix this game after 4-5 years. Nothing but good can come from that. -
[SP] The Battle of Tora Bora (Deep Recon)
RSF TheCapulet replied to h34dup's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Will do. Btw, I'd be interested in doing voice work or other recording work if you need it for this mission. -
Reshmaan Province v.0.80 beta
RSF TheCapulet replied to Fogu's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Great looking map. Warfare BE mission doesn't work. Towns initialization failure. -
[SP] The Battle of Tora Bora (Deep Recon)
RSF TheCapulet replied to h34dup's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Civies present a real problem. When I see a dude in a turban sprinting straight for me, my first thought is "bomb", and I shoot him in the face. Then my squad mate shoots me in the face, heals me, shoots me, repeats... indefinitely. Lol. So far, I love the atmosphere of this mission. It's perfect. Just wish there was some way to shout "stay back". :P -
ARMA 2: OA 1.61 (Release Candidate #3) build 95099
RSF TheCapulet replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Any question asked twice when a fix is known is stupid. ;) No offense meant, promise. :) -
ARMA 2: OA beta build 95208 (1.62 MP build)
RSF TheCapulet replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
For steam users, you can just use steam to re-validate the files for all Arma stuff. It'll download roughly 400MB of files to "roll back" to 1.60. Then click on OA; tell it to reinstall BattleEye, and then make sure to run it once from steam before trying to use your favorite launcher otherwise you'll get CD-key errors. Problem solved. And perhaps a +1 for steam finally? :P -
ARMA 2: OA 1.61 (Release Candidate #3) build 95099
RSF TheCapulet replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Might as well, for future searches. The more information you provide the community, the less stupid questions everyone has to ask! -
ARMA 2: OA 1.62 (Release Candidate #1) build 95168
RSF TheCapulet replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Wrong. No one in their right mind would release a buggy product when they can take their time, prevent regression bugs in beta/RC tests, and avoid having to release a hotfix following the release just to fix avoidable shit that they're perfectly capable of fixing before hand. The idea with patches is to fix bugs, not create more to fix later, just so you know. -
ARMA 2: OA 1.61 (Release Candidate #1) build 94945
RSF TheCapulet replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Me neither. But with my current and last config both, it was perfectly reproducible. Massive LOD issues with post processing AA turned on in any way. -
ARMA 2: OA 1.61 (Release Candidate #1) build 94945
RSF TheCapulet replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
This release reminded me why I didn't use FXAA or the new one... LOD issues are the worst I've ever had with any of it turned on. ATI 6950, latest drivers. -
What is everyone playing in MP now?
RSF TheCapulet replied to BigRed's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
I can't even say DayZ is playing Arma 2 for me. I play it all the time, just to remind me how completely hopeless the human race really is. But when I want to play Arma II? Warfare will never get old, specially with all the work Benny has been putting into BE. -
I managed to create an account after trying all day. Then it went down again. lol. I give up. ---------- Post added at 07:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:51 PM ---------- Well, I didn't give up right away, but I don't have a choice at this point. Got the "order" through, but when it came to paying, it's the end of the road for me. Visa, mastercard, doesn't matter. It won't even get to a screen that lets me put in my CC info. I just get this: And then this: I guess this is the real reason Steam is superior. It actually works? I'd love to give you my money, BI, but first fix your crap! I shouldn't have to try this hard to give my money away. *shrug*
-
I'd pre-order it right this second.... But the BI store is down. *sigh* "Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL" ---------- Post added at 01:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:33 PM ---------- Even without porting potential, I'd say the two new official islands are worth it. And while units might not be easy to port, I can't see BI regressing so far as to keep these islands from being community ported to A3 once it's released. It'd make no sense at all to do it that way, so I'll just have a little hope in BI's business sense and trust that they'll do the right thing.

Arma 3 Frames Per Second and Fluent Moving ?
RSF TheCapulet replied to Yett's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
It would be interesting if Arma 3 detected the amount of available ram in the system and based it's ram load entirely off of that, pre-loading a large cache of textures and models to send to video. And it's fairly obvious that this actually would be a big improvement, since we already see the same improvements using a ram disk or SSD. So why not take all of my extra ram that I'd usually be using as a ram disk to stream in A2 content faster, and use it exactly the same way natively in the engine? I hope that, someday soon, Photoshop still isn't the only program that can max my 16GB of ram. It probably wouldn't help at all, realistically. If the devs aren't including 64-bit support it means that they haven't hit their ram limit yet anyways. And since the 64-bit address space takes up more ram with the same data, it'd actually be totally counterproductive to introduce 64-bit support at this point. -
Do you have MLAA on?

ARMA 2: OA beta build 93415 (1.60 MP compatible build, post 1.60 release)
RSF TheCapulet replied to ArmAriffic's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
I can confirm what KeyCat is talking about. And it's not just nearby players either. You could be sitting beside a player, an SUV, a tank, a jet, etc. Doesn't matter. But occasionally, it'll just start moving all over the place. Turning on the spot, moving back and forth a foot at a time, etc. But in reality, whatever it is, is just sitting there doing nothing. -
Hey JH, I posted on the thread in the JSRS group we were talking on a while ago. Was gonna PM you to remind you to look at it, but your inbox is full. So take a look! :P

ARMA 2: OA beta build 93160 (1.60 MP compatible build, post 1.60 release)
RSF TheCapulet replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Very noticeable difference for me. Haven't had any extended waits between seeing things go from one inventory to another since that build. -
oktNoBlur - Signed Blur Remover Addon
RSF TheCapulet replied to oktane's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Anyone willing to make a mod that removes the blur filters entirely, but still leave the most advanced portions of post processing on? The blur/DoF are the two reasons I leave PP effects disabled. -
Pd3, you could fund a jello mold and some ammo for me to shoot for the next time I record. I'd go straight to jarhead and provide me more stuff to shoot. :P

Don't let it get to you bro. 1 dude's opinion vs thousands of better ones.
