Haha that rifle pack won't be finished i was a little more than too ambitious when i started and weapons isn't my way of doing it :) I do hope i can delivre at least one beta of something. Note i said "Hope" :) didn't think there were any old wip left out there for me to throw away i guess i was wrong, I might remake that helmet for the sake of Konyos mh-47 :P But thanks Scarecrow :)

lol i know, i removed the first pictures since they were ugly compared to my current work :) Regarding pants, they won't be showed anymore in this thread since they are now a joint project with other modders within this community we are over at the SOC mod thread if you are interested.

Thanks for that, the model lacks a little detail but i guess i can use the images on that page. http://gyazo.com/8e376e9ae0ece5e29f8e85dac43bf402.png this is what i had yesterday afternoon.

Thanks mate :) there really wasn't any good blueprints out there :( but there was one low res though with sideview and topview so that is all i have been able to work off of. I wasn't sure if i should make the holes that goes all around the top of the sides due to the poly count but i made them anyway and it didn't impact the poly count too much :)

you are right it would, it's just and i don't mean to offend anyone by saying this just stating my point of view, I belive i remember him saying that he edited the RHIB model from arma 2and that it isn't 100% exact so i would like to make one from scratch.

Brad, yes that is the one, i think it's called a SOC-R and it is used by SWCC. Alex, i honestly don't know i might be able to make konyo make the boat like his mh-47e if you ever tried it but no promis :) Also if anyone have some good refferenc photos of the console like what the driver sees and other details i would really be pleased to see it so we can make this as good as possible :) Regards astast

    Combat Vest

no sorry i'm just a modeler :P but Abs made some good modeling tutorials for arma 2 i use much of the same concept to model my units.

    Combat Vest

It's a little like modeling a car unless the arma 3 man is your blueprint and you just model around it start with the leg and then the torso, arms and that's it. remember to use mirror modefier so you don't have to make the same things two times just when you are done make some variations in the verts

    Combat Vest

Hey Brad, Looks good however i would advise you to download the bis samples for arma 3 so you get the sizes right for use on the a3 soldier, it's impossible without :P also i wouldn't expect that vest to be perfect since it will clip through the uniform ingame if you model it after the sample model so my advise (of course it's only my openion on this matter) model a uniform aswell and then model the vest ontop of the uniform then there won't be any problems like the vest being too small or too big. best of luck! -astast

    SOC WIP Thread

Well since our name is SOC which stands for "special operations capable" our main goal is special forces within the US armed forces.

Do you mean something like other sf units from other countries?

Thanks for those sources mate :) We have no plans at this moment to make taliban fighters or aq's. Since we are a small team we can't make opfor units at least not before we are all done with all the planned projects and that is a lot but there isn't any promis we will be making more units or other addons for soc after.

  19. Yea someone made the rq raven for arma 2 and i also think they/he are/is making it for arma 3 and there was a control maybe it would be an idea to contact him and ask how he did it so you don't have to reinvent the wheel ;)
  20. I can't wait for this, will be cool for special ops :D
  21. Yea i did play around with some which is going to be in another mod. Regarding the thing with other nations, we have been talking about it but i wouldn't be expecting it and if we do decide to do it i still wouldn't expect it anytime soon.

The helmet cover has a velcro patch on each side like we made on our mich without cover as you already have seen that means that there can be goggles attatched to it too right? :) these goggles: http://gyazo.com/f306e82d66cef0974793a5ce30b7367c if not then it isn't a problem the goggles can still be used :)
