  1. I know about that feature, the problem is that I want to define the specific groups to be spawned - I don't want ACM spawning stuff like Waffen SS and British Army Regulars, all of which are part of the German and British factions. I think I'll just write my own script to do this. It'll be a fun project anyway.

    freedom for Viktor Bout

There's a difference between appeasing a dictator (Britain saw Hitler as an enemy but hoped that the Sudetenland would be enough for him) and collaborating with him.You make some other very good points though. The West does play by double standards, though I must add that Russia does this as well. It's how diplomacy works.
  3. PCI-E 3.0 x16 is (If I remember correctly) twice the speed of PCI-E 2.0 x16. Presently, you'd need something like two high-end graphics cards (installed in a PCI-E 2.0) to begin seeing a performance hit. Therefore, if you are running one card (as most people are), PCI-E 3.0 won't have an effect on you. It'll become more relevant a few years down the road.
  4. Don't forget the lower TDP of the GTX680. May not seem all that important but in the long run you save money as well.

    Any interesting books to recommend?

I'm not sure what the general opinion of Tom Clancy is around here but I recommend Red Storm Rising. It's a very interesting book about a NATO-Warsaw Pact war, taking place in 1986. I also really enjoyed The Hunt For Red October (much more detailed and interesting than the movie) as well as Cardinal of the Kremlin.
  6. My steam name is RangerPL1322 by the way (my name on W:EE is RangerPL) if anyone wants to play, feel free to add me.
  7. Just bought this game and am two missions in to the singleplayer campaign. Are the people here still playing it?
  8. I've been a fan of the early Medal of Honor games; I remember them fondly from my childhood... I looked with scorn at the crap my friends played. This soundtrack has to be my favorite: 9arMsGys7_w I never had MoH: Frontline but I did play MOHAA: Spearhead and this soundtrack would appear in the British mission where you had to assassinate a German colonel. I always loved the part at 0:40, it has a "commando" kind of feel to it. Very awesome. My favorite soundtrack from WiC has to be "Incursio" from WiC: SA. It played in the first mission where you crossed the Berlin Wall with your Soviet troops. 95gV1rKQ8TQ

    freedom for Viktor Bout

Let's release an arms dealer back into the world just because other arms dealers are free. Let's also release all the child killers because Casey Anthony didn't get convicted. Yep... solid logic you got there, LeGeNDK1LLER.
  10. I've spent enough time on 4chan that the usual stuff doesn't have an effect on me anymore. But this...

Using ARMA to improve English Language proficiency

Well, if I ever meet an ESL speaker who tells me "SIX, move TO, THAT, car", i'll know what class he graduated :D

Dutchman flies by flapping his arms

Your "point" is meaningless and absurd. You can't produce lift by flapping your arms without changing the angle of attack. Period. The laws of physics and aerodynamics can't be argued with.
  13. There is an ArmA 2 benchmark for the GTX 680 here: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2012/03/22/nvidia-geforce-gtx-680-2gb-review/8 Seems that it loses to the HD7970, but that's on the earliest version of the drivers. I think the 256-bit memory interface is bottlenecking it.

    World in Conflict?

Ah. There should definitely be more people around, perhaps you went on when everyone is sleeping/at work? I must say I've never been involved with the WiC multiplayer scene, I was a modder. Speaking of which, this is an awesome mod: iqM4LcNUo7s Check it out. The guy who made it was inspired by games such as ArmA and DCS.

    World in Conflict?

I used to play this game an awful lot, I need to reinstall it. Also, as far as i know, 3 servers seems to be an incorrect number. Have you updated to patch 11?

Obama did not act illegally as Congress did not ask him to withdraw the troops. Congress doesn't have to consent to a troop deployment, they just have the right to forbid it should they choose to. In this case they didn't.

    Libya today

So now you bring into question my ability to discuss the economics of Poland? I can already expect what's going to happen, you're going to call me out for being a naiive teenager who obviously knows nothing. This is the internet. I'm not going to waste time arguing about that because it'll lead to a pissing contest. I don't pretend to know everything, I'm just correcting things you're wrong about. If Eastern Europe was such a paradise and capitalist Western Europe was such a zoo, explain to me why East Germany had to build a wall to keep its own people from running away. People were staying in Poland back then because if they tried to leave, SB would throw them in prison. There was no such thing as 'workers paradise'. If you think there was, you've probably watched too much state television propaganda. I do not think the current system is right. Nor do I think it's perfect. I'm saying is that a reversal to the totalitarian policies of PZPR would be idiotic. Poland is undergoing a transition phase right now, just as every other industrialized country has. Explain to me how the free market capitalist states are decades ahead of ex-Communist states in standard of living. It's called supply and demand. Land in Warsaw (like in any other major city) is considered prime real estate, seeing as Warsaw is the wealthiest city in the country, containing a massive amount of industry as well as government buildings and businesses. Naturally, people will be willing to pay more to live there. The same holds true for New York, London and every other major metropolitan area in the world. Your posts merely prove that you have no clue about how economics works. This is the problem with people nowadays. You complain about corruption and support implementation of strict regulations and then wonder why nobody wants to invest in your country. Yes, comrade Jaruzelski would have brought his tanks out on the streets to protect you. Reality is quite shitty, I'm afraid. Not everyone is going to be rich, and most of the banksters are going to get away with it. But if people aren't being treated fairly by the economy, at least they should be treated fairly by the government.

If you do those things, you are wholly justified in buying a PC with such specifications. I was talking about building a PC solely with the purpose of playing ArmA on it. I am aware that people require this sort of power (otherwise Intel wouldn't have a market for its high-end CPUs) but there's no reason to recommend it to people who do not.The way your post was worded made it seem like you were recommending everyone to buy DDR3-2133.

    Libya today

Yes, because gassing innocent Kurds is a sign of enlightenment. Because crime was legal, as criminals ran the country. So just because a particular freedom is inconvenient to you, we should take it away from everyone? Maybe I am offended by the stuff you post on the internet. Maybe SB should take your computer away. Just because something is essential, doesn't mean you are entitled to get it for no cost. The guy who builds the apartment building also needs to put food on his family's table, you know. My grandmother was given such a flat after her home outside Lwow was confiscated by the Soviets. Do you see that as a just system? Do you have any idea what private property is? Everything government gives you, it can also take away. Including your freedom and your life. Under Communist system, you are alive just because the leadership doesn't want you dead. My sources are all independent of the Polish political system. Tusk can lie about some statistics but he can't buy out every economist in the country, you know. Just consider the fact that Poland has a greater economic output than Saudi Arabia. In 1988, GDP was somewhere in the $50 billion range, now it's fourteen times greater. That ought to say something.Oh, and the very fact that you can go on the internet and express your opinions without having your brains ventilated by SB is something you owe to the free market society you live in. Financial crime and bank corruption are an unfortunate reality, but they are indicative of a lack of economic freedom, not an abundance of it. Poland's markets are still not free enough.

    Libya today

Al Capone was a criminal, not a businessman.History shows that there is a very strong correlation between economic freedom and personal (political) freedom. Money is the perfect way to control the people and nearly all of the despotic regimes to exist in recent times have had central planning elements in their economies. Even if there were "corporations", much was owned by the government. This was the case in Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, China (which still has immense amounts of government control over its economy), Hussein's Iraq, Ghaddafi's Libya. All of them. Poland's been experiencing steady GDP growth since the 90s. It had not been caught up in the 2008 economic crisis. Productivity is up. Income is up. All of this Poland owes to its free market economic system. You drive a car manufactured by a private enterprise, go to the grocery store to buy food products sold by a private enterprise, go on a computer designed and manufactured by a private enterprise, use an internet connection provided to you by a private enterprise and then complain that private enterprise doesn't benefit you. The way things are done now isn't perfect. But what we need is more economic freedom and more free markets. Government "management" only leads to tyranny. Everything the government touches turns to shit.

    AMD 6 core Processor

Yes, because if your PC is still running DDR3-1600 it's obviously a facebook machine. Those additional frames that are gained from buying a 2600k come mainly from the higher clock speed and aren't worth the $100 difference. For that, you are better off buying a decent aftermarket cooler and OCing. The 2500k is good enough for any typical ArmA player, 2600k starts being worth it if you do a lot of heavily threaded work. Most people here do not.
