    Console window. Demo record/replay

Non sense things to do and to say - that what is stupid. I'm not insulting, facts do. You are not helping to discuss game related subjects. You just locking interesting thread and buzzing around "Hey you! It's stupid to call me stupid! I'm moderator here!" Stop offtopic, ban yourself. This thread is about demo playback.
  2. I have tried to find these with search, but.. here's my thread you see  So. Wouldn't it be such a great thing to have the common console window as most other games have? There you can put settings parameters, maybe get access to mission variables in editor and so on. And by the way, the whole "game history": what launched, where connected, chat history, who when connected/disconnected - all the info should be registered and be accessible with more comfort. What about recording demo files by player, is it so hard to implement? Not much people could or want to write massive FRAPs videos right during gaming. But quite a lot are interested to save their experience and to watch others. I'm not programmer but I guess the demos are just saved game info stream files, that's all. And then system reads the engine "text" for replay. Would be great to have the ability and built-in player.

    Console window. Demo record/replay

http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?p=1853640#post1853640 Kremator It is almost EIGHT. After action review? Stupid. I want to watch replay. Not dig up threads because you seen someone told same thing like that to someone? Stupid. What is your point? The thread question is still having no answer. *Zipper5* 8 years. I have seen the posts dates initially. It shows for how long the subject has no solution. It is still needed feature and the actual suggestion to developers. You locked thread in case posts are dated 2003. Yes, so what? BIS products are based on OFP engine (2001), nothing changed about the suggestion really. I'm just trying to say you act stupid. -=seany=- Hello! Can we have record/replay in ArmA?
  4. It is better to get good features via patches anyways.
  5. Did you try to practice this with her?

    Mission record and playback

Can we have record/replay in ArmA?
  7. Is somewhere an age thread, advisable with a voting poll. I don't like people trying to convince that spending time in PC games (anything where you move mouse and press keyboard is counted) is childish (for me spending all the lifetime to create an image of successful guy (PC games?! Hell no, I'm too serious!) to make someone think something instead of doing what you really like in life - that's what stupid. Whatever, I'm not going to convince them they are. Beating a dead horse). Telling them I like more war sim: OFP, ArmA and it mostly played by really adult persons - I would like to see how the people are aged.

    ArmA 2 I/O analysis results

Thanks for the reply. You know I'm assembling a new system, so 16 Gb to have is what I needed to know. Still have to ask, do I need SSD in the case of loading up ArmA to RAM disk? Maybe it's always needed for OS or virtual memory (this called pagefile right?) so I have to get 16 Gb and SSD both. Or is a way to put completely all calculations on the RAM disk and thus SSD (any harddrive) no needed in the whole process.

    ArmA 2 I/O analysis results

Tell me please, what is RAM disk, how to create it? What amount of RAM system should have to use it?
  11. By the way I'm against any unnatural conditions like 10km range or other not really needed settings on max out. It could create another bottle neck which dosn't appear in normal conditions. And isn't it a possible situation when some H/W wouldn't have problem on all max out and another H/W having, meanwhile this dosn't mean the first H/W is better in normal conditions. Closer to thread, optimal RAM speed (1333, 1600, 1800) is unclear for me. The rest found out answers.

    ArmA 2 OA & Windows 7

Outdated, yeah that's right. I'm not sure WinXP would be as good as Win7 working with SSD. Not sure since guys in "Will my PC run this..." thread mentioned it.

    ArmA 2 OA & Windows 7

Put XP 32/64 vs Win7 32/64 into discuss please. What Arma2 runs the best on?

Why is this game not more popular?

Comfortable controls depend on how you able to organise them. In my case I rebind quite a lot buttons to feel it more like OFP, which I'm not running on all defaults also (well I did it only just to try what ArmA 1 is when it came out, maybe will be playing ArmA 2 soon). But i see your point. In my opinion this is the classic situation of a guy got used to play decent arcadish 3D games. He is not getting the whole game as I suppose, this is just not his shoe. Wish him luck in Counter-Strike. Another reason is high requirements. The game needs best H/W you can have. Still. And this is normal for what it is. So once again, lots people would feel better in CQB games. Lucky headshots for them.
  16. No-AA makes visual contact better, noticed it OFP. Far objects are coming visible further with no-AA, while AA shortens the distance cause it cuts pixels for applying its operation and the mode eats pretty much of resources.
  17. Well, thank you. Win7 on SSD should be great. What about SLI 2x GTX 580, how much improves the run on 1 monitor (and I don't like to use any Anti Aliasing modes)? I have to decide about mobo, and possible SLI support in future would cost some money now. Differs in $70 maybe plus $500 for extra GXT580.. Does it worth it at all?
  18. Isn't Vista and Seven the same platform? And do you mean drivers for XP not coming out anymore? Well, let me get it right - is any difference in ArmA benchmarks between XP and Seven?
  19. Excuse me for two posts in a row, I wonder what OS is preferred? Have heard Vista and 7 are slower in games and they just take up more resources. If so I would better stay with XP. Guess I have to look for XP 64 bit now for i5/i7 system?
  20. I'm sure RAM should be not less than 8 Gb. Not sure if I need 16. What speed is optimal, 1333, 1600, else? Looks like SSD is a good variant (or is the best?) for ArmA 2 and OS on it, OK. Other questions are still actual.
  21. Thanks for replies! I've already got Audigy 4 in my old PC, so regarding your answers I'm starting to doubt if I should buy a new X-Fi. I'm sure that integrated soundcard wouldn't provide the quality of any Creative card, but I guess X-Fi Titanum will bring more sounds into scene and they will be in high quality. Even if "hardware support" is not an option. Some guy playing ArmA claimed he can hear units steps far with Titanium Fatal1ty in ArmA. Wish I could compare the possibilities of Audigy 4 and X-Fi, but think the only way is to buy it. OK now, the SSD. Can you ssay it is faster than SATA disk? What about SATA disk or SSD in RAID? How lot gigabytes do I need for OS + ArmA? I am to buy some really good H/W (for ArmA) but I would never want to waste money. Is it used just for loading game or as virtual memory also? Been thinking it's kind of slow for it with loadtime, maybe wrong. I am not that super picky. Simple thing, I only don't want to have loading freezes ingame. Don't know what resources the game mostly uses during its work. Maybe huge RAM amount is enough for all the thing, to forget about any loadtimes and all? I would defenitely find out of what mobos (P67) better not to buy or to pay more attention to since the info about its deffect been released. What SATA port is needed for SSD btw? Well, few more questions. 8 Gb is enough, or there's any variants of using more to get advantage? Watching for a mobo, should I look for SLI support in future? Would it improve FPS if I get 2 GTX580 in SLI later. I'm for sure not going to use more than 1 monitor.
  22. Hello, people! I'm really interested about getting into the Armed Assault 2 game, and moreover having no question about what CPU/GPU to buy (for me it's definitely should be 2500K/2600K with GTX 580). But as I've been far from all these hardware stuff for a long time I have no any final idea of what is better to have as storing drive for the game (and OS also) since I've read about the SSD and RAM disks (Is it just a virtual DVD for game?). I don't even know does the game need constant DVD support or it is being installed completely on harddrive. So tell me please what the SSD disks are and how do they work with ArmA and OS. Is RAM disk better for ArmA? I guess decent IDE drive is somehow worse for the purpose? So finally what should I get for ArmA and OS? And another question is about sound cards. Thinking of buying X-Fi Titanium. And I see those Fatal1ty and HD versions of it also. I don't need any extra.. ports, panels, remote... anything, just want a fast hi-end card. I guess they all based on the same chipset and differ just in design and extra panels. Maybe I'm wrong since Titanium HD has about the double price of simple Titanium. Oh and maybe you could advise some other gaming sound card?
