Seriously, you should stop watching spy movies and come back to reality.
-
when are they going to make a game about the police? it's always mobsters, gangsters, blah blah. boring.
-
lol @ the mcshooter comment. yep, pretty much an "old model with a new paint job assembly line shooter game".
they also make it easy to avoid the game by keeping to the whole "midget character model" doctrine. according to them, every soldier is shorter than 5'2.

Oh please. Exaggerating how good your video game is not a crime. Everyone does it, BIS included. The PR persons can't exactly go "oh it's a piece of shit really, buyer beware" and expect to keep their job, can they? Same goes for the execs etc... they have stockholders to answer to.That's why there's these things called reviews. If you're too dumb to not take advantage of reviews and game demos you deserve to get ripped-off.
exaggerations are easy to see through, flat out lies aren't.
creative assembly is one of the worst offenders, but cm is slowly catching up.

so it's realistic to lose all your equipment after swimming the length of a small pond? right...
-
nope. still waiting for them to finish the us army. where's the stryker and module systems? where's the correct crew?
-
not a fan of the brits. their armors don't catch my attention and they have silly uniforms.
imho.
i'm waiting for something like a dedicated stryker pack with different modules and variations, correct crew and equipment. that is something i would be willing to pay 10 bucks for.
a few custom brit helmets, backpacks and some armors and choppers ain't gonna do it.

intel dx58 "smackover" i7 930, 8gb patriot 1600mhz ram, 9800gtx, all updated, the works, etc, etc. game's running 50+ fps with nothing, 10-20fps with action happening. temps are normal, 650w power supply, btw, i'm not computer illiterate. other games are 100+ fps
i was not impressed by the supposed "performance improvements" promised for oa.
just fyi. i don't want anyone updating their system to a brand new i7 quad core thinking they're gonna get amazing frames, the finding out the game still lags.
-
i just use the auto-hover feature to save myself when i feel i'm about to crash. it's pretty good at doing quick climbs, where my mouse lacks the sensitivity to do so.
-
man that is such bs i feel obligated to say something. my comp: i7 930, 8gb ram, 9800gtx+. this game is running horrid with everything updated, including beta patches. so 1000-2000 ai perfectly? give me a break. please try not to exaggerate things especially if you have never actually tried it and are just guestimating. on my high end system, not top, but pretty good, it's horrible even with 50 ai. the game is not very optimized, imho.
-
or you could just go into the game directory and locate the launch beta shortcut. and then edit the property to include -nosplash.
exthread and cpucount settings are set to 7 and 4 by default.
-
i've got 54fps
but the game itself feels kind of like 20 fps.
-
a little better. but the stuff from 1.07 was not in. i had to set parameters cpucount=4 and exthread=7, otherwise the game would be choppy and stuttery. also, had to set cpuframesahead to 1. although people say it's better to do 8.

Hi, could you guys make a deal with steam so that they never update the game?
Thanks.
-
what's the problem? they look good. maybe i need to see it in action or something, but that looks nice.
i think it just stands out more because there are less trees, whereas in previous games, there's always been forests and bunches of trees together, so it's harder to tell.
-
i'm pretty sure that's for research purposes, cause it'd be annoying for a game.
-
damn, i'm on the west coast.
-
does anyone know where the sprocket servers are located in the us?
-
alright thanks
-
imo, that "lacking" you feel is basically just materialist habit trying to get you to spend unnecessarily.
-
I'm thinking of buying OA through steam, and I heard that for Arma2, steam had to redownload the entire game just to install the latest patches(I have several steam games, and this is the first time I've heard of this happening). Could this be avoided in the future or am I better off getting the game elsewhere?
-
i have a quad core with 8 virtual cores with hyper threading enabled. what ex thread setting should i use?
-
i don't ge tit. it looks good enough, why not make it fr pc? instead of some crappy low visual quality system?
-
so it would be different if they weren't caught on tape? let me remind you, that these people hunted down and killed someone in cold blood. what you're worried about is bad exposure for mossad? leverage for their enemies? this is silly.
as far as i'm concerned, they were as professional as any assassin. it's part of the trade. and it's common knowledge that mossad actively hunts down and kills people.

I don't think a simulator would work very well because then you'd have to follow 15 standard procedures just to make an arrest, etc. But a Police based open world game where you can drive around town and respond to crimes would be interesting. Of course another type of police game could be based on detective work instead of the usual patrols. That would be great as well. There's a game coming out called LA Noire that's like that, but it looks very linear, and it's console-ware.
