that seems pretty typical of mipmapping. another texture related problem i have is with character textures degrading even when close up. this totally hurts the visual quality of the game.

is there any fix for this?
i have a gtx460 1gb video card. and i use the normal texture detail with default memory. whenever i set memory to high or very high, using the scope slows the game down, and worst of all, when i leave the scope view, my character's textures degrade to low quality.

why does it take so long? mine loads in a matter of seconds.

hi, i notice some of the addon models in the game switch to low detail textures. does anyone know the cause of this? i never see this happen to the vanilla units so it must be something that occurs during the addon making process.

People buy the expansions because they want to support BI'not for some silly textures.
why would you support bis if you get nothing back? of course people are buying dlc for the content.
if they merely wanted to support them, they'd donate.

uninstalled and threw away the disc sometime back in 2006. by then the game was just way too outdated

the lack of details is due to atmospheric perspective.
despite lack of clutter, the grassy plain looks very realistic thanks to the shaders. i'm sure clutter will be introduced at some point in the future. and nice terrain detail at 1:40.

what other games? you mean vbs1/2? that's a simulator they sell. they don't learn anything new because it's their engine. they already know how it works.

imo the models have small waists.

some modo renders of my us army 2010 guys (AO + full color) instead of o2 and arma 2 for a change...Do not quote images
that looks nice. i think the reason they have a rough transition from the arm to shoulder is because you're not making the shoulders sloped enough.

i mean the art direction. character design looks awful, no matter when it came out. i've seen 1950s concept soldier designs that look more plausible.

mostly the art aspect. i was pretty fascinated with the us army models.

star navigation is pretty effective, especially during daytime. sun always sets in the east and rises in the west so you get a pretty good bearing from looking at shadows.

this game looks and plays terribly. the environment and vehicle designs are alright, but the characters, namely the armor and uniforms was just awful.

thanks for the photos and the medic advice. the dark spot on the head is probably a shadow lod. i will fix it.
