it's just 1 cpu with 4 cores. your specs look fine and i assume you've updated drivers for all your hardware, including sound and graphics. does this happen persistently or was it just a one time event? because i used to have a gigabyte motherboard which displayed similar symptoms. seizing up with sound loop. i looked around and apparently there's a problem with gigabyte boards having memory controller issues. -

that's just how oxygen 2 renders vertices. it works perfectly fine in the game. i even made a screenshot of it which i posted in the official arma 2/oa photo album thread. -
nice tech demo. now lets see gameplay that doesn't lag using those same graphics settings. but to be fair, crysis does run better than arma 2/oa.

you mean a video? the mission itself has nothing to do with hard coded weapon behavior. and there's really no need. a lot of people have claimed there's problems with people surviving killing shots. so either they're all conspiring for some sinister purpose or there really is a problem...either latency or graphics based.

that doesn't really make sense. the storyline for the arma 2/oa campaigns are modern. cold war rearmed, as its name suggests is about a fictional cold war scenario. hope you understand. thanks- 144 replies

i've been playing on a server close to me (ping under 50) and moving targets still sort of teleport around which makes hitting moving targets difficult. this is one of those domination/evolution type servers. i don't know how the latency is for regular coop scenario servers.

the game is naturally laggy. you won't get call of duty or even crysis level framerates. there's nothing wrong with your setup, and i suspect you've already tried updating drivers and turning off excess background processes(neither of which does anything, really, unless you're really out of date). the only thing you can do is turn down the graphics to low/normal and just get used to the sluggish gameplay. i've tried the beta patches and they are in fact somewhat laggier than version 1.57. -

How does that work? I have ace mod running and when I load up units I don't have that option. I tried setting it in my profile options, but it's not working. I'm running OA+Arma2, does this only work in Arma2? -

It's an illustration of my request. I gave it a high boot, made the body fatter to simulate thick jackers and made the sleeves thicker as well. here's a shot from a lower angle to see the boot more clearly: -
there's a lot more to arma 2's graphics that distinguishes it from arma 1, besides even arma 1 had similar post processing effects.

cheap and fast is a recipe for failure.

I would say action in Arma 2 and video games in general look better on normal speed because the graphical glitches become less apparent. A good example of this is the smoke trails which look somewhat cartoon-like when slowed down. High speed video is more useful for scrutinizing an event.

With all the scripts and stuff they have gunking up servers now adays, it could be anything, from artillery, to mortars to rpgs or mlrs rockets. To be honest, with all those ace, acre, slx, blah bla stuff, it might even be a bug.
