    thanks for the info, seems there's a lot of conflicting information because at sarmat studios they say vsr was common in mid 90s. for armor, i cannot change it sorry. it is part of the model itself. i'll see about getting rid of the splav once i get a decent 6b5 vest with pockets. the vog leg pouch i am in the process of removing. i'll also see about changing the model of the pouch for the grenadier. the black balaclava are invoked from the bis packages. i don't actually have control over the textures. but it might be possible to do a retexture of it. anyone know how? thanks.

  6. the call of duty models have bad proportions, to put it bluntly. in every one of their games to date. short legs in comparison to body. large heads. spindly legs as well. in fact it's a popular term among some circles calling them "midget models" or overgrown babies. i think it's a design decision or perhaps they are just not good at anatomy.
  7. after awhile the game will get boring, don't worry. i became so bored with it, i started making addons for it. i realized i would rather spend time looking through tutorials and searching forum for answers than continue the laggy experience.
  8. the proportions of those shadow company units is pretty bad. i can see why you'd want them redone.

  10. looks great. i especially like the lanes in the rice paddy field. maybe use sprite for trees in dense jungle.

    1-i don't know how to resolve this. in viewpilot model the hands are gloved. i think in the game, it uses your personal avatar along with his hands. 2-i have resolved this by removing soldier_as from rvmat. 3-i will look into this. thanks.

  13. as i understand it, the view distance, terrain size and weapon ranges in this game aren't really suited to anything beyond ground vehicle and infantry combat. so things have been scaled down somewhat. this is especially noticeable in jet planes that zoom past the entire map and you can hardly even see the ground sometimes.
  14. oh god, the dreaded toilet simulation. you can call this immersible, but it's really just superfluous. this is first and foremost a combat simulation, not a bathroom, ingestion and sleep simulation.

    yes, it's reflective of the variety in russian uniforms. and thanks for reporting the error. it looks like an issue with the wound textures.

  20. the newest version of texview 2 can't open paa files created by the old version it seems. i just install the old version from bistools 2 package, convert all the paa files into tga files, then reinstall the new version.

    will there be relatively tall buildings that have been destroyed but are still standing? are there any custom models like that? because the sad thing about the destroyed models of the tall buildings in arma 2 is that they turn into a flat heap of rubble on the ground.
