  1. I realize now that you were talking about the default Suspend option in the menu, not some special cheat-like function. The Suspend option will save your position/situation in a game temporarily, but if you or a teammate dies, you must revert to either a real save or an autosave. So the suspend option is useless for saving a game at a crucial point that you can go back to if you/teammate dies, which is the whole point of a saved game. Please let me know if I am misunderstanding something.

  3. Hi, I playing Manhattan on Veteran, and teammate #4 is constantly running off on his own, with status as "supporting." As leader I cannot control him. I followed him once, and he apparently is going after enemies on his own, and inevitably gets injured, often ending mission. What is "supporting" and how can I get #4 back under my control? It is ruining the mission for me at this time. The problem started during the Manhattan mission - never saw this in previous missions. Also, since mission #1, Sykes (teammate #2) has always to be told twice to board vehicles, and often gets lost, randomly becoming "away" status, and as leader I have to either go get him and regroup, or have him move somewhere close by and then regroup. Is this a bug? It sure is a pain and a waste of time. Thanks....

  5. Thank you, Hanzu. Disengage does work to stop #4, but he will again go into "supporting" mode every time "T" is used to switch from leader to another team member. Then, one must switch back to leader and have 4 disengage again. This is definitely a nasty bug. The beta patches are interesting. I doubt I will try them, as they are untested and may introduce new problems, unless of course they are recommended by experts who know what the patches will fix and not fix. ---------- Post added at 05:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:36 PM ---------- Hanzu, After looking at the changelog of the most recent beta patch, it looks very much as if some of the fixes may address the issue with the insubordinate behavior of #4 when he is in "supporting" mode. Syke's insubordinate/confused behavior may also be addressed there. However, I am not sure if the above problems always depend on the men being in "danger" mode as well. Does the patch fix both A2 and OA, or just OA?

  7. EXCELLENT INFO about how to save games at will on higher difficulty levels. You have saved me massive amounts of frustration in the future. THANK YOU!! :bounce3: I have never played with others. Your idea about sending others to different locations to get evidence and find Bardak sounds like a fantastic strategy to me. I once found Bardak in a car, and rammed it with my Hummer. He eventually got out and ran, so I wounded him in the leg. I should have left him and gone on to get other evidence, but I didn't know better, so I tried shooting him again in the other leg, but killed him and mission ended. That time, I couldn't get the capture cutscene to start even after approaching him closely, which I think is caused by all your squad not being right with you. Your squadmates are required to be nearby for you to capture Bardak. In other words, if you are alone, or possibly with only part of your squad, the capture will not occur, and he will just keep crawling or running away. By the way, when I completed the mission with 3/4 evidence, Bardak captured, no Dressler accomplishment, I got a message saying "Flawless Victory". Also, how do I edit my post to get the little spoiler button that you have?
  8. Thank you, thank you. Yes, I finally realized that the only way to get all evidence is to find Bardak and thus get the accomplishment for that, but then not to approach him, and just leave him. Then, there is no time limit to find the evidence. However, the problem with that is that, even if you shoot Bardak in the leg so that he can only crawl, you may never find him again. I got lucky and by chance ran into him much later MILES AWAY in Novy Sobor (did he crawl all that way, or somehow take a car?). Also, once he has been found, his location is marked in red on the UAV map, but not on your personal map. I would have used the UAV to find him, but the UAV got destroyed by ground fire late in the mission. Razor 2 is a very frustrating mission. Most of the time you never run into Bardak before you get killed or time runs out, and certainly there is little time to find the evidence. I'm playing on Veteran so I only get one save, and that makes things very difficult, to say the least. Also, once Bardak is found, you cannot talk with Dressler and the CDF guy Lt. Marny, and thus cannot get the Dressler accomplishment. Later... YAHOO! I got the evidence at the quarry. As you said, lying on the ground, near the dead guy without the ski mask. My guys took care of the masked men as I, as Sykes with my sniper rifle, crept up the steep slope to the south of the quarry to find a safe place from which to snipe the third guy. The evidence was quite easy to spot, and I doubt I would have missed it earlier. Could one of the dead guys been lying on it? Maybe one should hide the bodies to reveal anything lying beneath them??? This time, I found Bardak at the quarry, got the acomplishment, but he ran off. Man, he runs fast. Lost him. But I took the chopper back to base and spotted him in Solichniy using the UAV map. Now I'm off again to the western mountain base to get my third evidence. After that, back to Solichniy to arrest Bardak and end the mission. After all the frustration I had with this mission, here I am playing it again, and having FUN. ARMA 2 and Bohemia are frickin' AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I'm running a combined Arma 2 1.08 and OA 1.57. I often get random "soft crashes" to desktop in the middle of Arma 2 campaign and scenarios. Suddenly I see the desktop, the game is still running with sounds, but I cannot return to the game and have to kill the game process via Task Mananger. What is going on, and is there a way to fix this problem?   11. Another question about the merged installation. I bought Arma 2, OA, and PMC separately. I did the following; 1) Install Arma 2 2) Patch it to 1.08 3) Install OA 4) Patch OA to 1.57 5) Install PMC 6) Patch it to 1.01 Is that correct? Also, what "other" problems have been found in the merged installation that you mentioned?

I had another thread about my issue: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=112620 I am not sure if my question is the same as those posed in this thread, but I noticed that a patch for this will be included in 1.57, which I am using. I went through OA campaign once, avoiding From Hell, which is not in my mission list (only Sandstorm). Now I want to play From Hell. I was advised to simply "Revert" the Open Season (helicopter) mission, and crash land in enemy territory without dying. Is that correct? From this thread, I am now not so sure.
  13. Hi, I've finished the OA campaign on Regular, and am now trying again on Veteran. From Mission menu screen, I have been "replaying" each mission on Veteran. Just completed Open Season again, but want to crash land and survive in order to start the "From Hell" Mission (instead of Sandstorm). Now, if I crash land and survive, the mission ends and I'm returned to the mission menu screen, and From Hell won't start. Do I have to select Open Season and click "Revert" or something? Thanks....

    Trial by Fire

    I would just as soon drill a hole through my kneecap. I'm trying (patched) ArmA 2 and OA without any mods. Hard enough as they are IMO. The slow AI in OA suit me fine. For now. I played through OA campaign on Regular, am now in the midst of Veteran. I wonder if the AI will be faster and smarter on Veteran? By the way, are the differences between the difficulty settings described somewhere in detail?

    Trial by Fire

    After several hours of the most brutal gaming in my life, I got through Trial By Fire on Veteran. Man, oh man. I got injured bad near the captives in the hangar, but my one remaining buddy finally healed me, and we were able to complete the SOB with all objectives achieved. Never made it to Hill 63 or whatever, though. The Apache took out the APC fine, but it sure took a while to do so. The town is a total slaughterhouse for me and my squad. I'm playing with patch 1.08. The AI is brutally quick and good. The AI in the Arrowhead campaign seem much, much stupider in comparison. Often in OA they just sit there, waiting to be shot, which makes the game much easier (playing Regular difficulty), thank heavens.
  18. Playing OA 1.57. At some point in Pathfinder, my two tank crew members got injured and are not in the tank, which got disabled just after clearing the pass. The members have red icons. I can't find them, and they and other units keep broadcasting "Report Position." How do I report position? I left the disabled tank and got into a Bradley in which I reached the FOB. My convoy got all messed up, I couldn't regroup them after "Saving the Villagers," and I couldn't leave the area - got a warning to return to convoy, so I had to restart the mission. Any ideas as to what went wrong? :cry:
  19. Ah ha. I'll try that. I figured it was buried in those 1-0 menus somewhere. Thank you. I tried ordering them to move nearby, but I guess they were injured, and couldn't move. I finished the mission on Veteran, and got all the objectives, so all is good.
  20. Thank you. So, there is no way for me to report position? If there is, how do I do it? Are you saying that when someone says to report position, the only thing I can do is try and regroup the convoy? I tried to find my injured crew members, but I couldn't. I'm playing on Veteran difficulty, so no team icons on map - how could I find them? I tried to regroup the convoy after saving the villagers, but that didn't work. Obviously, avoiding casualties is the way to go, but if something bad happens, I'm interested in finding out how to restore things so I don't have to spend extra hours redoing missions.

    Sandstorm Help Needed

    I'm playing OA 1.57. Repair support is not available to me at any time in the mission (even at start - no icon at right). Other units always call in for support at a location reported in the chat log. One time, I wrote that location down and went there later, and indeed there was a support truck there. A post above said that the support trucks are at the start location of the mission, implying that one can drive back there to get repaired. NOT TRUE for me, although it is possible that the trucks were there, and moved later when called in by another unit.
