    RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)

First Move 0.3.7: there is no overview picture there is no loadscreen preview picture Blufor unit 4 has no ammo donekeys/activeatekey are not working to show mission as completed in mission list menu (no green checkmark after successful completion)
  2. The desperation and pressure of this mission reminds me of the flagship mission of the IFL44 D-Day DLC where you have to assault the bunker on Omaha Beach or wherever. That was the hardest mission of all time, thanks to respawn of German soldiers, made by gool ol' Wass of AWAR. Another one you'll never forget. But that one had save game capability.

    Scouting and side missions FAQ

No, I don't think you're missing anything. Just RTB Maxwell and you're done. Yep, that's what I did. I played through campaign under main profile a long time ago, and then played it again under another profile once many fixes had been applied. It will be interesting to see if and how various changes (resting/deployment/suppression, etc.) in 1.42+ effect Survive and Adapt campaign missions. In 1.42 RC, the Infantry Showcase suddenly became super easy, and in 1.42 I fired only about 20-30 shots total in the Win episode on Veteran (I went the Paradise Lost -> Status Quo route at the end this time)...
  4. I hammered away at the thing until I completed all the optional tasks and left island. It does become a matter of finding out exactly which way to go to avoid most enemy, and then executing the plan with skill. It still was harrowing at the end, as there was a squad of enemy pursuing us as we left swamp and approached heliport. You must run like hell, and keep as much distance as possible between you and them. Then there's another squad with marksman to the south, which you can't see, but can nail you from range. The horror of being killed and thus having to do everything over again is enough to create some serious immersion. But it's immersion of a rather bad kind. But you'll never forget it, that's for sure.
  5. Well, it certainly is challenging. There is no question about that. But I agree that, after completion, it is a letdown and doesn't seem worth the effort and time. There definitely should have been a MUCH more substantial narrative reward. For me, getting to the heliport east of swamp only to find no chopper, and then having to leave 4 men behind as I took off in boat, were both real downers.

    Scouting and side missions FAQ

I recommend reverting to start of Survive, but making backups as Janez suggested is a good idea just in case. I don't think you will have any problems with the scouting missions then. Don't forget to check out the other thread that Janez mentioned if you have any questions about the new scouting missions. Another reason to revert is that fixes have been made to several Survive missions, including Blackfoot Down, Wet Work, Radio Silence, and Tipping Point.

Totally awesome. I was also looking for some HQ vehicles, and the M1083 sounds great! Is there one for AFRF already available?

    RHS Escalation (AFRF and USAF)

^ ^ Awesome, thank you. :) I'm trying to avoid using the NATO HEMTT repair and ammo trucks in my new mission. It would be cool if one of the existing US trucks with a mounted M2 MG on the cab will be available as a support unit!

^ ^ Ok, thanks for the info.

Hello, I'm looking for US support trucks in Escalation, particularly repair. Are there any? I see that support trucks exist for AFRF, but not for US. There are lots of varieties of US Army trucks, but there are no indications in the editor if some of them are support units or not.

    Night showcase

This showcase can be very frustrating, especially with the non-scoped weapon provided and lack of NVG. Here is what will complete the mission in the shortest time:
  12. ^ ^ Try running the Steam OA beta branch, which has corepatch included, and see if you still get that error. I'll bet you won't....(but am not sure).
  13. Damn. Sad to hear this about Marksmen showcase. I have been wondering why there are no threads about it in Official Missions forum area. :icon_sad: Time for official A3 mission pack!
  14. I voted for APC/Tanks, but I'd be happy with any DLC that includes substantial SP playable content.

  16. BI and probably ~85-90% of the community agree with you, I'll bet. That still leaves me, and possibly ruebe, high and dry. :icon_wink: I'll again bring up Eagle Wing. Karel made that campaign and it was released for free in an A2 patch. That is quality right there. Things like that show what BI's focus used to be, and are what cemented me to the Arma franchise. So much so that if you cut me, I bleed ArmA II. But now I need a transfusion. :o:
  17. This idea sounds great to me. Such top-tier mods would benefit from having BI QA/QC for quality and compatibility, and the official BI stamp of approval, both of which would generate more sales and happy customers. BI could even enhance such mods, adding their own touch and ideas.
  18. I wish they would greatly reduce time spent on sitreps, opreps, crapreps, techreps, VR, Drills, Time Trials, Steam Workshop, Launcher, DLC browser (WTF ), and MP game modes, and make more original playable content that I actually want to buy. Like content that has a coherent story behind it, character development, and infantry and vehicular combat. Marketing and figuring out ways to make money off modders appear to be their principal occupations these days (devs who made weapon stabilization and suppression excluded :)).I think part of the problem is that Karel Mořický is apparently not making missions for A3. :cryy: Mission-making talent and resources have been reallocated... http://moricky.com/projects/
  19. There could have been another (optional?) task in the mission to clear out all enemies from area, or, even better, an optional task to search town for intel which would complete once you found secret room. Such a task would have given a reason to search village for secret room. As it is now, all your squadmates (if in SP) must wait in chopper while you search town.
  20. I got way burned out with TKoH using just keyboard and mouse. I mastered it then, on expert difficulty with no auto trim control, but it made a permanent crease in my brain. If I had a controller, I'd like the AFM, but it's too much of a pain in the arse for me now, unless I'm alone in editor. Landing with the AFM is a real bitch. Anyone want a REAL challenge with KB + mouse? Try flying the Hinds in the TKoH DLC on expert difficulty. Holy Sh-------t!
  21. ;) No hints here. It's a new Steam achievement. Check it out.
  22. True, but there is a .....heh heh. Food for thought. ;)
  23. Bingo. Well said! :bigglasses: If BI had pursued that strategy, wouldn't they have brought in MORE $$$ than with the current DLC paradigm? Such an expansion would have been purchased by EVERY Arma player. Who could possibly refuse to buy something that feature- and content-packed? With resting, deployment, and suppression, they could have marketed it as the biggest thing to hit Arma since A2 came out. And a new campaign would have sealed the deal. BI could have charged quite a sum for that baby - I also think up to $40-45 is completely reasonable. Instead they are giving awesome new tech away to many users (hey, I'm not complaining about that ;), but BI CFO should). Oh man.
  24. I played thru mission for third time in order to find "Secret Room." Encountered no problems at all, just good combat fun. All other NATO guys entered evac chopper and calmly waited for 15 minutes while I searched Syrta. I found about 8-9 bad guys lurking around, and took them out with my Mk200. Found room, boarded chopper, took off, game over. Looking good (again).
  25. Agreed. Obviously BI devs are extraordinarily skilled and talented in what they do. Who doesn't want to see the company succeed except for competing companies and their fans? But the way the DLCs are packaged, pushed, and marketed detracts from A3 IMO and leaves some ArmAheads wondering...WTF?
