    RWS - Real Warfare Soundmod

    Tested the latest Patch (Real Warfare Soundmod beta 0.2 update 2), and it just keeps getting better! Finally a soundmod that makes the M270 MLRS sound like its actually shooting Rockets! But it’s a bit sad, that the AI shoots it so fast (Which is unrealistic btw), that you can’t really enjoy the sound of those rockets mounting in the sky. Maybe you or somebody else can fix the rate of fire(Didn’t you already do something similar to this with the Abrams- you can only shoot, as soon as the engine has started...) And I experienced something really strange: The environment sounds are getting louder and louder, until you shoot. Then there at a normal volume for about 5 secs, but then it gets louder again. Still missing BLUFOR sounds: - MG 36 reload sound - Stinger reload sound - MK13 completely - The M119 Reload sounds at first Person Perspective Once again great work! Cant wait to hear OPFOR and explosions etc...! ---------- Post added at 03:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:46 PM ---------- As they said it, explosions will follow later Patch 2 doesnt include any explosion sounds

    play as a chopper gunner, they sometimes move like 2m or so;) it's because those muzzleflashes are 2D layers and always face the player but there is nothing you can really do about it...

    Ok first of all, what I like about your mod, is that it’s the first one that has got this sort of echo in the first person sound files, which is a big step to realism, and was missing in other ones. After testing your first WIP release, I’ve got to say that the Hydras are just perfect! and the M252 are very good as well ( I especially like this “swinging†barrel sound- with a little bit more punch and “thunder†just like in reality and the reload sounds are also a nice little feature. Maybe some “Allah u akbar†on OPFOR/Taliban side? ;)) The MK19 has to be mentioned as well! Good work! Keep it up ! But even though I know it’s an early WIP release I’ve got some recommendations to you to make it even better: - Maybe your Soundmod could be the first one, which has got some good HUMVEE sounds. Because this is a vehicle you use pretty often in the game and would really enhance the gameplay experience. - The thing with the shells: I also think they should be a bit quieter, it’s especially weird if you shoot a silenced MK17 CCO and the sound of the falling shell is louder than the actual shot. A thing you could also improve, are the sounds itself. Right now they sound like the shells would fall on some kind of soft wood. Maybe you can make them sound like they would actually fall on sand, or concrete. (Maybe you even have the opportunity to re-enact and record it in reality) A point, where you have a lot of potential, concerning the “shell†topic is the HUMVEE mounted M2. There you can really work with those kinds of sounds to create an intense atmosphere. The loud sound of heavy shells falling on raw metal-Just like in reality! - Opposite Thing goes for the A-10 (first of all, thanks for this gimmick! The GAU-8A is already pretty good ;) Since it’s Turbofan-engines are rather quiet, and the cockpit is designed to absorb the sound of them, you hear almost nothing as pilot. Your sound- concept is very good, but just too loud of the pilot’s view. Make it muffled and you’re good to go! - MK16 reload sound quality gets lower at the end (is it true that there is some recorded wind in it? Guess it was converted by a video ) - Missing BLUFOR sounds (just to check it): - M27 MLRS - AA FM-192 Stinger - Javelin - M9 SD - MAAWS - can’t read my own note there…. ;) ok just saw you have an update... have to check it out right now! - A sort of “bug†the SOA Soundmod had as well, is that the M32 has got shell ejecting sounds like every other rifle. But I think it’s not too hard for you to fix it. - Right now you have way too much bass for the S 7-58 CCO - The M242 Engine sounds are already good, but the sounds, caused by the Tracks are almost missing. - A very strange thing is that, since I installed your Real Warfare Soundmod, an M6 Linebacker placed in the editor turns into a M2A3 in the game. - The TOW-Launcher should be heard for a longer distance - The M134: Right now, your 3rd Person Perspective-sounds are sounding clearer and meaner than the fP. Which is kind of weird: You’re in a chopper and have this beast right in front of your head, and it sounds meaner when you’re playing at 3rd PP. So in general, you can say that your soundmod is on the right way, to put the ArmaII: Operation Arrowhead audio-experience on a whole new level. And I also want to say thank you for releasing the AK-47U , really looking forward to hear some progress in your upcoming projects like OPFOR weapons, explosions, hits, sonic cracks ( its still a lot to do , isn’t it?) and a small note for the big explosions: maybe you can even let us hear some dirt falling on the ground… Those would be the details that separate your soundmod from other ones So if you agree, or disagree me with certain points or you even want to add something, just let me know. I think I’m gonna update my points after some more hours of testing and careful listening. And I really want to say thank you! To you,SladeUSSOCOM, and your team! You all have got my full respect! p.s. aren’t you German Konrad? If so, I can maybe send you an PM in german, to be able to say everything I want to say, in a proper way of expressing myself.     There is never enough stuff to enjoy! ---------- Post added at 12:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:48 PM ---------- ok my idea would be to pay more attention to these specialised secret Task Forces and move the battlefield to an more urban area ( not necessarily, but its a cool idea) with a complete new field of units and new settings like naval operations and so on so the focus is on the Special and Task Forces ( maybe on both sides..)

    yeah after my opinion they look slightly better then the yellow ones but you dont know if it would work in this smaller explosions but it looks quite real!

    Hey there OpticalSnare and you the reader, I've been playing and testing your first Release(and Version 1.1) of your upcoming Blastcore mod, since a couple of days now, and i've come to the conclusion that its very stunning and really making the Atmosphere, realism and especially the look of Arma II Operation Arrowhead a lot better! Nevertheless i want to help you with making it even better so here are a few suggestion or problems/bugs: -After my opinion the simulated shockwaves look too yellow i think in this video at 0:55 you can see a good starting concept-Sadly the thing with the muzzle flashes but i know you can't really do sth about it - The Gau8 impacts look pretty badass already but i would suppose to make it look like the dirt and dust really comes out of the ground maybe sth like you see at the very end of this video but with the dust staying longer-The IEDs are basically just dust effects right now -The Thing with the empty M242's and so on but i already know that you gonna fix it! - The M270 MLRS should pick up more dust -i dont know about the sparkles when you fire rockets like the Hydra but the seem a little bit unrealistic to me cause you usually can just see them at night http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I63wpzHBpYE&feature=related- and white smoke i am missing white smoke in explosions or whatever -the ground dust for explosion could maybe pop out like when you're firing a tank and not spread from the middle So if you or you who's reading this, agrees or disagrees on me with certain points please let me know and give me some feedback. ps keep up the good work OS:ok:! We're all proud of you! (forgive me if i made some english mistakes, german guy here;)

    and what I forgot: the smoke effects for vehicles just pop out at full Volume i dont know the correct word for those smoke grenade launcher which are mounted on vehicels...     Hey there OS First of all, thanks alot for releasing this first version of your upcoming Blastcore! You really did a great job! I especially like the Mk 19 impacts but overall it is very stunning and gave me alot of :eek: !!!WoooooW!! moments yesterday! ;) OK but i also wanna try to help you to improve your mod so here are some bugs ( or whatever you wanna call it) -the muzzle flashes appear next to the gun while walking sideways -I dont know yet if it has sth to do with Blastcore but since i used this mod there is some trouble with the grenade launchers, the shoot too high in the air, so the sights are useless (especially with the M32) - the shockwaves seem a little bit too yellow But once again you did a very good job and you've got my respect!
